India elect to bat vs SL; Pandya makes debut
July 26, 2017
India captain Virat Kohli has won the toss and elected to bat against Sri Lanka in the first Test in Galle.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya will make his Test debut, while Shikhar Dhawan makes his comeback as he comes in for KL Rahul, who is ruled out with illness.

India have gone in with two spinners in Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, with the former completing the landmark of 50 Test matches.

Just as Murali Kartik was completing the captains' interviews, it started to rain in Galle.
