Rajasthan Royals beat Deccan Chargers by eight wickets with seven deliveries to spare to get off to a winning start in the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League.

Captain Shane Warne's decision to promote Johan Botha up to no.3 pays rich dividends as the South African scores an unbeaten 67, inclusive of eight boundaries and a maximum.

His unbroken 58-run stand for the third wicket (off just six overs) with Ross Taylor (21 not out), ensured the champions of the inaugural edition a significant win.

Botha also put in a 52-run partnership for the second wicket with Rahul Dravid (28).

The loss meant Deccan Chargers' record of having never won a match at home (in Uppal) continued.

The South African bowls an exceptional final over, conceding just two runs.

Botha top edges Ishant over the keeper's head to the fence in the penultimate over.

And then Taylor smashes the same bowler over deep midwicket for a maximum, his second.

Both reaches his maiden IPL half century with a couple off Ojha and celebrates the same with a boundary.

Then follows a huge six straight over the bowler's head. And another boundary ensures a victory for the visitors.

Botha remains unbeaten on 67.

Ojha is back, replacing Steyn in the eighth over. And Botha hits him for a boundary towards fine-leg.

Amit Singh comes in to bowl the first over and accounts for Ravi Teja (28) first ball, Menaria taking a nice catch at fine-leg.

Steyn (7) gets a boundary towards long-off before hitting straight to Botha.

And it is a successful final over for Rajasthan. They have managed to restrict Deccan Chargers to 137 for eight.

The moment Shane Warne got it right with the coin he had no hesitation in asking Kumar Sangakkara's team to bat first.
