Kings XI Punjab thrashed Rajasthan Royals by 48 runs in Mohali on Thursday to continue their recent good form.
It was the biggest win in terms of runs in the edition.
It was the Mohali team's third win on the trot, following losses in the two opening matches.
Chasing an improbable 196, Rajasthan could managed only 147 for seven.
It was the Shane Warne-led outfit's third loss in succession, following twin losses against Kolkata Knight Riders.
The champions in the inaugural edition had won their two opening matches but have since lost the plot.

Paul Valthaty comes into the attack in the ninth over and a single by Stuart Binny helps his side reach the 50-run mark.
Stuart Binny (30) and Ashok Menaria put together 50 runs for the fifth wicket, in just five overs, before the former is caught at long on by Chawla to give Ryan McLaren his first wicket.
Binny's 24-ball knock was inclusive of two boundaries and a six.
After 15 overs, the visitors are 113 for five.

Ryan Harris continues in the fourth over and Watson helps himself to three boundaries in the over, the first toward fine leg, the second toward cover and the third over midwicket.
Kumar continues in the fifth over and Watson gets a boundary off the first ball.
Bhargav Bhatt comes in to bowl in the sixth over, replacing Harris. After six overs, Royals are 45 for two when Punjab were 77 for one.
Kumar will finish his spell at one go. And he ends on a good note, having the dangerous Shane Watson (24) caught by Piyush Chawla at midwicket. Kumar finishes with figures of two for 22.

And it is Praveen Kumar opening the bowling for Punjab. Seven runs come off the first over with Rahul Dravid helping himself to a boundary in front of square.
Ryan Harris bowls the second and Dravid hits the second ball to the fence to complete 1, 000 runs in the T20 format.
However, Harris has the last word, cleaning up the veteran.

Piyush Chawla comes in to bat. He hits a boundary of the fifth ball and is bowled in the last ball. Tait finishes with three for 23.
Punjab make 195 for seven in their stipulated overs.It is the highest total in this IPL.
However, Punjab had made 169 for two at the end of the 15th over. In the last five overs, they managed only 26 runs at the cost of five wickets.
Good come back by Rajasthan this.
They have wrested back the momentum in the last quarter and should take that confidence going out to bat.

Ryan McLaren has come in to replace Nayar.Siddharth Trivedi bowls the 18th over. He concedes just three runs but finishes what is overall a poor spell (4-0-59-0).
Watson bowls the 19th over and in the first ball, catches Shaun Marsh (71) off his own bowling.
His 42-ball 71 was inclusive of six boundaries and three sixes.
Only seven off the over, inspite of a boundary.

Shaun Tait comes in to bowl the 16th over. He bowls a good over and conceding just six runs.
Moreover, he gets a wicket of the last ball, having Dinesh Karthik (21) caught behind.
Karthik's dismissal ended a 70-run partnership for the third wicket that came off just 38 balls.
Abhishek Nayar comes in to replace him. And Shane Watson bowls the 17th over.

Warne conceded 21 in his last over.
Trivedi is back to bowl the 15th over. And a single by Marsh off the second ball helps bring on the 50-run partnership for the second wicket, a stand in which Karthik's contribution is just eight runs.
Karthik though celebrates the same with three successive boundaries off Trivedi.

Marsh pulls the third ball to the fence but it is a good over as only seven runs come off it.
It is Abhishek Raut who bowls the 13th over and Marsh hits his second ball through the extra cover for a boundary. Another seven runs come off it.
Warne comes in to bowl his last over, the 14th of the innings. And Marsh hits back-to-back sixes over long on to get to a well-deserved fifty.
He celebrates with another maximum in the same area.
Warne has been expensive today, he has gone for 51 from his four overs.

The fourth ball is blocked. But there is no relief as the fifth and the sixth balls go past point and square leg respectively and earn Punjab successive boundaries.
The latter shot ensures Punjab cross the 50-run mark in the third over, the fastest in the history of the Indian Premier League.
Shane Warne replaces Tait and Gilchrist welcomes his compatriot with a maximum over maximum.
The next goes to midwicket and earns Gilly another boundary.

And he almost strikes third ball, but the ball is a no ball and Paul Valthaty, caught at third slip, survives.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and invited Kings XI Punjab to bat first in their Indian Premier League match in Mohali on Thursday.
"The wicket may have a bit of dew later on and we are better chasing," reasoned Shane Warne for his decision.
Adam Gilchrist, his opposite number, seemed unperturbed.
"We have chased well a couple of times. So it doesn't matter," he said.
