Delhi beat Punjab by 29 runs

In the end it was way too much for the Kings XI Punjab as the visitors lost to Delhi Daredevils by 29 runs.

Punjab gave Delhi agood fight finishing with 202 for six, but in the end it was way too much for the Kings XI.

Shaun Marsh was the star for Kings XI Punjab with a resilliant 95. Varun Aaron had an impressive debut picking up a wicket and clocking 145kmps.

Shaun Marsh falls five runs short of a century.

Marsh was fightinghard in the middle, despite the wickets falling around him. The southpaw was dismissed by Morne Morkel.

Marsh' innings included nine boundaries and six sixes.

At the end of 18 overs, Punjab were 188 for five.

James Hopes is bowling some tight overs in here, but just as we speak David Hussey wacks one out of the park, literally.

The six went 106 meters long -- the biggest six of the tournament, surpassing Gayle's 104 meters.

But Hopes has the last laugh as he has Hussey caught at the midwicket fence by Sehwag.

Runrate has jumped to 17.5 runs-per-over.

At the end of 16 overs, Punjab were 161 for four. Marsh is fighting it hard on 75, while Nayar is on nought.

Agarkar now gets his name into the wicket coloumn as he snaps Dinesh Karthik.

With the run rate increasing Karthik went for an expansive pull only toget a top edge and was taking a neat little catch atas square leg.

Punjab were 127-3 after 13 overs.

Great comeback from Varun Aaron after giving 13 runs from his opening over.

Aaron goes round the wicket and bowls a short of length ball, angled in to the batsman, who misses the ball and the ball crashes in to the middle stump much to the delight of the bowler.

Punjab were 103 for loss of two wickets at the end of 11 overs.

Agarkar into the attack and Gilly welcomes him with a boundary. Gilly smashesa widishdelivery over backward point for a boundary.

Ball 2: Agarkar clearly not at his best, has been caned for another boundary.

Ball 3: Short ball on legstump, pulled powerfully for four more by Gilchrist.

Ball 4: Agarkar pitches another short delivery Gilchrist chops it to the deep backward point boundary.

Four in four means pressure is back on Delhi.

Earlier, Yogesh Nagar too leaked 16 runs in his opening over.

It seems Valthaty's wicket hasn't slowed down the Punjab as Shaun Marsh and Adam Gilchirst is on ahitting spree, thanks to some freebies from Delhi bowlers.

Punjab were off to a decent start, thanks to two drop catches -- first from Naman Ojha and then by Venugopal Rao.

Irfan Pathan, who was hit for a couple of sixes by Valthaty in his first over, has the last laugh as he sends the right-hander back to the pavillion for14.

Morkel is keeping the speed gun busy. Punjab at the end of four overs were 25 forone.

Kings XI seem to have got a foot in the door as Praveen Kumar finally picks his first wicket sending dangerous David Warner back, after a brilliant 77.

The left hander looking to press on the pedal, was caught in the deep by Ryan Harris.

Warner's innings included seven boundaries and four sixes to his name.

In the next over Chawla accounted for Finch's wicket as he was caught at extra cover for 3.

Delhi were 184 forfour after 16 overs, with Venugopal Rao and Naman Ojha in the middle

After Sehwag's dismissal, it seems Kings XI have pulled it back a little bit.

Yogesh Nagar, who came in after Sehwag's dismissal, did threaten a bit, hitting a six and boundary off Abhishek Nayar, but the bowler had the last laugh as Nagar was caught in the deep by Ryan Harris for 11 runs.

Delhi were173-2 after 15 overs. David Warner is going strong on 73 off 45 balls, along with Venugopal Roa on one.

Ball 2 : Another six, Gilly scratiching his head, crowd going wild as Viru deposits it over midwicket.

Ball 3 : Viru makes it three ina row, Viru in six-hitting mode.

Ball 4: Sehwag goes for another maximum, but doesn't connect as well as he would have liked to and is caught in the deep by Dinesh Karthik.

Viru walks back, with a roaring Delhi crowd chanting his name.

It looks like nothing has changed for spinner Piyush Chawla, who had a terrible first over.

First ball of Chawla's second over is smashed to sqaure leg boundary for another boundary by Sehwag.

Couple of balls later, Sehwag lofts one over top for another boundary.

Thebowler looks clueless.

Srivastava back into the attack, but nothing changes.

Meanwhile Sehwag takes a risky double to complete his half-century.

Warner looks he is in prime form smashing virtually each and every ball towards the boundary.

Paul Valthathy into the attack and Warner smashes it over the square leg boundary for a maximum. 50 up for Warner!!

Couple off balls later Warner shows he can play delicate shots too, timing one towards third man for another boundary.

At the end of ninth over, Delhi 109 for no loss. Warner is batting on 57, Sehwag is on 37.

All right Abhishek Nayar intoduced now after Shalab Srivastava's first over costed 18 runs.

No respite for Kings XI bowlers, but to be fair, they haven't bowled in the right places too.

Decent first delivery by Nayar as Warner gets off strike. Viru at the other end tries to whip one on the leg side doesn't time it back to Warner.

Oh dear! The ball is on leg side and Warner helps it along for a boundary, with the fine leg inside the circle.

Ten runs comes from the over.

At the end of seventh over Delhi 80 for no loss.

Warner-Sehwag partnership is looking ominous. Both of them are attacking the Kings XI bowlers, especially Praveen Kumar, whohasn't found his rhythm yet.

Ryan Harris, who bowled a decent first over was smashed out of the park by Warner.

Next over, first ball Praveen greets Sehwag with a juicy full toss, which Sehwag obliges with a boundary.

Next ball an edegeoff Sehwag's bat, no slips, the balls runs down to thirdman boundary foranother boundary.

At the end of fifth over, Delhi 52 for no loss, with Sehwag on 27, while Warner is going strong on 21.

Sehwag off the mark in a streaky way as he chips one in the air, fortunately for him falls short of the mid onfielder.

Up next Viru clips a legstump delivery through midwicket for a boundary.

Praveen Kumar overcompensates with a wide delivery and Sehwag is more than happy to smash it for another boundary over point region.

At the end of third over, Delhi were 26 for no loss.
