Timeline  Refresh

23:06
Live Scorecard:

Rampaul has Kohli (117) caught behind, ending a 163-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Suresh Raina goes first ball, caught behind off Roach.

However, Rohit Sharma (90 not out) ensured India raced home comfortably in the end.

The home team win with 11 balls to spare.
22:39
Live Scorecard:

The fourth-wicket partnership is now worth more than hundred runs.

Kohli completes his eighth ODI hundred with a single off Simmons. It is his first ton against West Indies.

India 222 for three after 43 overs, needing just 48 runs to win.
22:07
Live Scorecard:

West Indies instead of looking for a wicket and waiting for the Indian batsmen to make mistakes. This negative strategy has taken pressure off the two batsmen.

While Kohli has settled down well, Sharma too, has completed his 10th ODI fifty with a boundary off Sammy. Half of his fifties have come against West Indies.

It is his second half century in succession, following his 74 in Cuttack.

India has reached 172 for three after 35 overs.
21:44
Live Scorecard:

The fourth wicket partnership between Rohit and Virat is now worth more than 50 runs.

It has come at the right time and helped keep India on track.

The home team has made 152 for three after 30 overs.
21:25
Live Scorecard:

Rohit Sharma announces his arrival with a maximum off Rampaul.

India reach the 10--run mark in the 21st over, courtesy a Kohli single.

Kohli completes his 18th ODI fifty with a single off Samuels. It is his fifth fifty against West Indies.

India has reached 122 for three after 25 overs.
20:58
Live Scorecard:

A boundary by Kohli (off Rampaul) brings on the 50-run partnership for the third wicket, at almost a run-a-ball.

However, Sehwag (26) is dismissed soon after, caught spectacularly at wide long-off by Russell of a Samuels delivery.

The Indian captain, who had two pieces of fortune, finally runs out of it. Rohit Sharma comes out to bat.

India reduced to 85 for three after 17 overs.
20:40
Live Scorecard:

The first ball after resumption gets the edge of Kohli's bat and finds its way to the boundary. Sammy completes his first over, conceding seven runs.

Russell comes in to bowl the second over after resumption and Kohli hits the first ball over Pollard at backward point to the fence.

He has lived dangerously but Kohli has proved a perfect foil for Sehwag.

India 61 for two after 13 overs.
19:54
Live Scorecard:

Virat Kohli comes out to bat. But one must reiterate here that it took a spectacular catch by Bravo at short cover to send Gambhir back just when he had got his timing right.

Sehwag (on 15) is fortunate a second time when Bravo drops him at third man off Sammy.

Both the batsmen steady the ship, putting on 20 for the third wicket before a slight drizzle interrupts play.

India 49 for two after 11.2 overs.
19:30
Live Scorecard:

Sehwag has got a reprieve, dropped by Sammy off Roach when on 1.

He continues playing dangerously, getting a couple of boundaries off the edge. However, the captain and Gautam Gambhir have helped the team recover from the early loss.

Just as we think that a spectacular catch by Bravo sends Gambhir (12) back, giving 'batting hero' Rampaul his first wicket.

India 29 for one after seven overs.
19:09
Live Scorecard:

Parthiv Patel and Virender Sehwag open the batting for India and Ravi Rampaul starts with the ball for West Indies. Three runs come off the first over.

Kemar Roach strikes with his second ball, having Parthiv (2) caught by Darren Sammy . at second slip

Gautam Gambhir comes out to bat.

India four for one after two overs.
18:21
Live Scorecard:

When on 75, Rampaul broke the world record for the highest ODI score by a No.10 batsman.

Having been 170 for nine after 36 overs, no one would have imagined West Indies to last their quota of overs.

Howeer, they have done exactly that, without getting dismissed.

Rampaul's magnificent 86 not out has taken their eventual total to a competitive 269 for nine.

Rampaul's 66-ball knock was inclusive of six hits each to the fence and over it, and he put on 99 in an unbroken final wicket stand with Kemar Roach (24 not out).

India has an uphill task ahead.

17:56
Live Scorecard:

A boundary off Aaron takes Rampaul to 49. He completes a maiden ODI fifty with a single off the next ball.

It is the highest ODI score ever by a West Indies No.10.

Rampaul and Roach have put on a 50-plus partnership for the final wicket, at more than a run-a-ball.

West Indies 229 for nine after 45 overs.
17:31
Live Scorecard:

So Simmons in finally dismissed. He is run out for 78, his 102-ball innings inclusive of eight boundaries and a six.

However, Rampaul continues to smash the ball, in this case smashing Jadeja for a six and a four in successive balls.

He follows it up by hitting Ashwin for another six, his fourth. The fifth comes in the last ball of the over.

West Indies 201 for nine after 39 overs.
17:16
Live Scorecard:

Andre Russell (11) hits a couple of boundaries before Jadeja cleans him up for his second wicket.

West Indies 167 for eight after 35 overs.
16:57
Live Scorecard:

Ravindra Jadeja has trapped Darren Sammy (2) plumb in front. West Indies should be dismissed well before their sipulated quota of overs is bowled.

The visitors have made 143 for seven after 28 overs.
16:44
Live Scorecard:

Simmons and Pollard are scoring at a faster rate.

Perhaps it is the realisation that they haven't got too many wickets left. Maybe it a strategy not to leave too much for too late.

Spin has been introduced for the first time, with Ravindra Jadeja coming in to replace Aaron (5-0-26-0) in the 21st over. Ashwin replaces Vinay Kumar (9-2-38-2) from the other end.

Simmons reaches a well-deserved half century with a boundary off Jadeja.

In Ashwin's second over, Pollard (35) smashes him for successive sixes before the bowler has him caught behind.

West Indies 120 for six after 25 overs.
16:12
Live Scorecard:

Denesh Ramdin has come in to bat ahead of Pollard. A good decision considering West Indies' innings needs stability at this stage, not aggression.

However, the move backfires as Yadav returns in the 17th over, replacing Aaron (4-0-20-0) and strikes first ball, having Ramdin (2) caught by Jadeja at backward point.

In comes Pollard and he starts his innings with a boundary to fine leg.

West Indies reduced to 67 for five after 17 overs.
15:56
Live Scorecard:

Vinay Kumar has ensured India it's third wicket of the afternoon, against the run of play.

The bowler has had Bravo (13) caught by Ashwin at mid-on in what can be termed a soft dismissal. Bravo and Simmons had put on 30 runs for the third wicket and seemed to have steadied things.

Two balls later, the bowler had Danza Hyatt (0) caught behind.

West Indies 55 for four after 14 overs.
15:44
Live Scorecard:

Simmons, who has surpassed 1,000 ODI runs in this match, smashes Yadav for successive boundaries in the latter's fifth over to ease the pressure.

Him and Bravo are scoring at almost a-run-a-ball.

Varun Aaron, meanwhile, has come in to replace Vinay Kumar (4-1-17-0), who in turn has replaced Yadav (5-0-17-2).

West Indies has reached 53 for two after 12 overs.
15:24
Live Scorecard:

Lendl Simmons has eased the pressure a bit with two boundaries in Vinay Kumar's third over, the fifth of the innings.

Meanwhile, Yadav is unlucky not to have a second wicket as Rohit Sharma drops Samuels (on two) in his third over.

However, Yadav has his man in his next over as Raina makes no mistake at third slip.

Darren Bravo comes in to replace Samuels (4).

West Indies 26 for two in eight overs.

14:58
Live Scorecard:

Umesh Yadav strikes in his first over, the second of the innings. He has Adrian Barath (0) caught behind.

Marlon Samuels has come out to replace Barath.

West Indies three for one after three overs.
14:48
Live Scorecard:

India has fielded an unchanged lineup while the visitors have made one change, Ravi Rampaul coming in place Anthony Martin.

There has been no reduction of overs despite the rain.

R Vinay Kumar opens the bowling for India.

West Indies two without loss after the first over.
14:34
India has won the toss and invited West Indies to bat first in the second One Day international in Visakhapatnam on Friday.

While Virender Sehwag, the Indian captain, said the weather conditions influenced his decision, his West Indies counterpart, Darren Sammy, admitted as well that he would have also liked his team to have a bowl first.

14:27
The second ODI between India and West Indies in Visakhapatnam has been delayed by a slight drizzle.

The covers are still on but news is the inspection will be done in a few minutes.

India lead the five-match series 1-0, following a nerve-wracking win in the opening match in Cuttack.
