Live Scorecard:

Broad traps Ishant (1) plumb in front to seal India's fate.

England win by 196 runs and take a 1-0 lead in the four-match series.

It is England's first Test win over India in five years.

21:51

Raina survives a referral.

But Anderson has his man caught behind three balls later.

Its a five-wicket haul for Anderson then, the third occasion he has taken a fiver at Lord's.

Raina made 78 and with his dismissal the result is obvious.

India 261 for nine after 96 overs.

21:42
Live Scorecard:

Two boundaries by Raina off Broad has added insult to the bowler's injury.

The bowler responds by rattling Praveen Kumar's (2) stumps.

India reduced to 256 for eight after 95 overs.
21:23
Live Scorecard:

Stuart Broad comes in to replace Anderson (24- 5-57-3) in the 89th over.

Lucky Harbhajan! Bell drops him off Broad.

The bowler in unlucky again as Billy  Bowden doesn't give Raina out leg before. It was plumb. The replays confirm the same.

Raina lives to fight. However, Anderson has Harbhajan (12) caught in the next over.

India 243 for seven after 92 overs.
20:53
Live Scorecard:

Tremlett strikes soon after resumption.

He has MS Dhoni, caught behind.

The Indian captain scored 16 and his dismissal brought to an end a 60-run partnership for the sixth wicket.

India down to 227 for six after 86 overs. Harbhajan Singh comes in to bat.
20:11
Live Scorecard:

The new ball is made available in the 81st over.

And it is Anderson to bowl the first over, replacing Swann (22-3-64-1).

A boundary off the fifth ball by Raina ensures the 50-plus partnership for the sixth wicket.

At tea, India has made 218 for five (after 81 overs).

The visitors have won the battle. Will they win the war?
20:01
Live Scorecard:

Suresh Raina has completed his sixth Test fifty.

He and Dhoni are putting in a good little partnership her, having put on 47 runs for the sixth wicket.

India has reached 212 for five after 79 overs.
19:20
Live Scorecard:

Andrew Strauss drops a sitter again, off Anderson.

However, the blemish doesn't prove costly on this occasion.

Two balls later, Anderson has his man out leg before.

The Master Blaster's fortune runs out as he is dismissed for a painstaking 68-ball 12.

And Swann has Raina (20) almost stumped in the next over.

India reduced to 165 for five after 68 overs.
18:33
Live Scorecard:

Sachin Tendulkar is fortunate to survive a loud leg before shout of Broad. Replays suggest the ball would have hit the stumps.

Billy Bowden has got it wrong this time. DRS has come to India's rescue.

India 149 for four after 58 overs.

17:35
Live Scorecard:

Tremlett has been brought to replace Anderson (15-1-44-2) in the 53rd over. The logic seems simple: he had troublem Tendulkar a lot in the first innings.

At lunch, the visitors had made 142 for four (51 overs), still 316 runs adrift of the target required.

Sachin Tendulkar was batting on seven and giving him company was Suresh Raina on four. The duo was fighting to salvage the situation after India had lost three vital wickets in the morning session.
17:17
Live Scorecard:

Now it is Gautam Gambhir's turn to depart.

In the over after Anderson's dismissal of Laxman, Swann has the left-hander out leg before. Gambhir made 22.

Suresh Raina comes in to bat. He too begins with a boundary of the second ball he faces.

India reduced to 139 for four after 50 overs.
17:12
Live Scorecard:

Laxman and Gambhir are putting up a good fight out here.

Anderson comes in to replace Broad (11-3-24-1) in the 48th over and strikes first ball.

And the bowler strikes first ball, having the dangerous Laxman (56) caught by Ian Bell at midwicket.

A very callous shot by Laxman considering he had settled sown so well.

In comes Sachin Tendulkar to a rapturous response. And he hits the fifth ball he faces to the fence.

India 135 for three after 49 overs.

16:54
Live Scorecard:

In the third ball of Broad's third over in the day, Laxman survives a huge appeal.

Broad is convinced but so is umpire Billy Bowden. Referral time!

And umpire Bowden is right. Laxman didn't nick it. He survives.

In Broad's next over, Laxman hits his eighth boundary to register his 53rd Test fifty, his fifth against England.

India has reached 121 for two after 45 overs.
16:31
Live Scorecard:

Tremlett (5-4-1-0) has been replaced by Graeme Swann in the 38th over. The spinner will be bowling his off-breaks from over the wicket.

The mostly Indian crowd is still cheering, anticipating a positive result as ever.

A single by Gambhir off Swann helps India reach the 100-run mark in the second innings.

Anderson (5-1-13-1) is replaced by Stuart Broad in the 39th over. So it is a twin bowling change for England.

And Gambhir is fortunate to survive a loud leg before appeal in the final ball. Replays show the ball had pitched just outside the leg stump.

After 40 overs, India has made 105 for two.

16:22
Live Scorecard:

Dravid and Laxman put on 75 runs for the second wicket. But the former's dismissal is definitely a big blow for India.

Gautam Gambhir has come in to bat.

To remind you again, Sachin Tendulkar will be able to bat only at 12.27 (local time). The decision was taken after he had skipped most of day four with a viral infection.

India 96 for two after 35 overs.

16:03
Live Scorecard:

James Anderson to share the new ball.

In Tremlett's third over of the day, Dravid is put down by Bell at short leg. Dravid survives a few other edges as well.

But an error cost him his wicket. Fishing at a wide Anderson delivery, he edges it to Prior.

India down to 94 for two after 35 overs.

Meanwhile, it is confirmed that Sachin Tendulkar can bat from 12.27 (local time) onwards.
15:35
Live Scorecard:

Chris Tremlett to bowl the first over of the final day. VVS Laxman to face.

It is a packed house at Lord's and someone tells me there has never been a crowd this large for a cricket match in England.

The first run of the day comes of the fifth ball.
