India beat West Indies by 16 runs

Barring from the late scare from Christopher Barnwell, it was a clinical performance with the ball from Indians as they beat the hosts West Indies by 16 runs.

With the match dead and buried, Barnwell smashed a brilliant unbeaten 34 off 16 balls, which gave them a glimer of hope, but it was a case of too little too late.

For West Indies Darren Bravo was the top-scorer with 41, while Harbhajan Singh was the pick of the bowlers for India with 2-24 off his four overs.

Yusuf Pathan to bowl the final over. Barnwell has been striking it good but 31 runs off the final over may be a bit too much for the all-rounder.

Hyatt meanwhile, pulls a short delivery towards deep midwicket for a boundary.

So after the two quick wickets, West Indies seem to have setteled into a rythm. Marlon Samuels and Darren Bravo have steadied the ship a bit.

Munaf Patel back for the second spell as Smauels turns one for a single. Both the teams have struggled to score on sluggish track and wet out field.

But Bravo breaks the shackles a bit with a boundary over midwicket. Munaf drops one short, Bravo is quick to pounce on it.

At the end of 11 overs West Indies were 60-2.

Ashwin provides the breakthrough for India after he was smashed for a amximum two balls earlier.

Ashwin dropped on short -- spun a lotabd the ball lobbed to Virat Kohli, who took a neat cacth. Replays howeber showed that the ball hadn't touched the batsman's bat. Simmons was back in the hut for nine.

In the next over Munaf Patel cleans up Andre Fletcher for 11. At the end of five overs, West Indies were 30-2.

Ravi Rampaul to bowl the final over. Pathan has been striking the ball well. Rampaul digs one short -- bhajji gives himself a bit of room and slots it in the stands for a maximum. 150-up forIndia.

Darren Sammy was the pick of the bowlers with 4-16, while Badri top-scored forIndia with 43.

At the end of nine overs India were 57-4. Sammy finishes off his spell with figures of 4-0-16-4.

Sammy into his third over and he strikes an important blow as he removes in-form Virat Kohli for 14.

Kohli was done-in by a slower one as he tried to play the shot early, only to chip it to Hyatt in covers.

Sammy rounds up the over with the wicket of Parthiv, who was looking good in the middle.

Parhtiv went for a drive, away from the body -- another slower one. Sammy is on a hattrick.

India reeling at 48-3 after seven overs.

Russel tries to go for a full length delivery and Kohli too is equal to the task to smash it for second boundary off the over.

Presense of Gayle must have had something to do with it as he is in the stands along with Jerome Taylor.

Parthiv launches himself again, doesn't time it -- couple of runs for the lefthander.

Steady drizzle hits Queen Park Oval as Parthiv hits one to long on and takes off for a single.

Good to see the intent of Indian openers, taking singles early on. But as we speak Sammy puts an effort ball, which catches the edge of Dhawan's blade as India lose their first wicket.
