Live scorecard

The wicket is quite slow and the short deliveries are not proving effective against Suresh Raina, who is known to have a weakness against them.

He is quick to jump on the backfoot and pull Siddharth Trivedi through midwicket for his first four. The left-hander tries that short a few balls later but fails to get it off the middle as Watson makes a superb effort running to his right at square leg but fails to hold on.

Another big over for Chennai as 13 runs come from it.

Botha keeps it tight in his next over, his third, giving away just three runs.

But Chennai look comfortable at 43 for one in six overs, needing 105 runs from 14 overs for victory.

Jakati comes up with a superb catch to send back Watson for 32. The Rajasthan opener hit one back powerfully but Jakati somehow managed to hold on to get the wicket.

Warne makes another surprising change in the batting order. The in-form Johan Botha, who has done well at No. 3 for Rajasthan, is kept waiting as Rajasthan promote youngster Ashok Menaria.

In the same over, Dravid races to his fifty, his first for Rajasthan, off 37 balls with a single on the leg side.

16:45
Live scorecard

There is no stopping Dravid now. He steps out against Jakati and hits him over the cover fielder for his seventh four of the innings as Chennai spinners look desperately short of ideas.

Dravid at his attacking best. A short ball from Ashwin is pulled through midwicket for another four that takes him to 44, but the right-hander attempts a reverse sweep off the next ball that goes nowhere and looks rather ugly.

It is turning out to be a Dravid show in Chennai. Another short ball from Ashwin and Dravid is quick to go on the backfoot and pull him through midwicket for another four.

Dravid has suddenly cut loose, hitting six boundaries off his last 12 balls to leave Chennai shell-shocked.

Meanwhile, Watson, is enjoying the carnage from the other end. He gets himself a boundary after a while, in streaky fashion as his outside edge off Ashwin goes through the thirdman region.

Dravid has raced to 49 from 35 balls, having hit nine fours, while Watson has made 32 from 25 balls.

Rajasthan have made 86 from 10 overs, their best score in ten overs in this year's IPL.

Sri Lanka's Suraj Randiv, desperate to prove his worth, is brought into the attack in place of Ashwin.

However, Randiv is off to a horror start as Dravid slams him for three boundaries in that over.

Dravid surprises everyone as he reverse sweeps Randiv for a four followed by another one as he cuts a short ball through point.

The last ball of that over is lofted over midwicket for another four as Dravid races to 34 from 27 balls.

So far, it has gone to script for Rajasthan and they must now be hoping that one of the openers can carry on till the end and help them post a huge score.

16:34
Live scorecard

Chennai introduce spin as Ravichandran Ashwin is introduced into the attack in the sixth over, to replace Bollinger.

But there is no stopping Rajasthan as they continue to attack.

Watson continues the flow of boundaries. Another sloppy piece of fielding from Chennai as Anirudha Srikkanth lets one through at short fine leg to concede a boundary.

No wonder, captain Shane Warne is sporting a huge smile in the dressing room as the camera focusses on him.

Shadab Jakati comes on from the other end. A quiet over from the left-arm spinner except for the lbw appeal against Dravid, but it is all going Rajasthan's way as the openers put on 50 in the seventh over.

Dravid then lofts the off-spinner over mid-on for another boundary in that over as Rajasthan continue to build on their good start.
16:23
Live scorecard

Watson breaks the shackles as he lofts Morkel over the mid-on fielder for a boundary. In the same over, Dravid lifts him over the covers for his second four of the innings as Rajasthan look to get a move along after a steady start.

It proves to be a very expensive over for Chennai as the final ball is sent sailing over the point fielder by Watson for the third boundary of the over.

Watson has raced to 19 from 17 balls, while Dravid is on 12 from 13 balls.

16:20
Live scorecard

Morkel comes up with a tight over, his second, conceding just a single. Watson has a couple of play and misses and even failed to connect a pull shot.

Dravid is content to play himself in and take it steadily in the first few overs against the new ball.

The former India captain gets his first boundary as he pulls a short delivery from Bollinger through midwicket. However, there are only two more singles in that as Chennia pacers continue to keep things tight with the new ball.
16:09
Live scorecard

Doug Bollinger nearly claims a wicket in the next over. Watson's intended pull shot falls short of Abhinav Mukund at mid-on, who made a valiant effort diving forward.

Watson finally gets the first boundary off the bat. Bollinger delivers one in the slot perfectly outside the off-stump and his Aussie team-mate cracks it through the covers.

The next ball, as expected, is a bouncer which Watson ducks under.

16:04
Rahul Dravid and Shane Watson are out to open the batting for Rajasthan Royals, while Albie Morkel will bowl the first over for Chennai Super Kings.

Watson gets off the mark off the second ball of the match with a single, while Dravid does the same off the next delivery.

Watson helps himself to a boundary in the same over when the fielder at fine leg messes up an easy save to give four leg byes. The Australian then lofts Morkel over midwicket but fails to find the distance and has to be content with three runs.
15:37
Rajasthan Royals captain Shane Warne won the toss and elected to bat against Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League, in Chennai, on Wednesday.

For Rajasthan, left-arm spinner Nayan Doshi replaces pacer Amit Singh. But Chennai opted to retain the same side that beat Pune Warriors India in their last match.

It's 38 degrees out in the middle but the television commentators seem to be making a lot of the weather. A couple of hours in the hot sun should not bother the players that much in a Twenty20 game unlike a Test match where you spend the entire day out in the field.

Warne also dismissed the conditions saying "it is same for both the sides and the boys are ready for it."
15:29
Both Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Shane Warne will be hoping that their teams can continue their recent winning run and jump to the top of the IPL standings.

Champions Chennai Super Kings and former winners Rajasthan Royals have been on a good run, winning their last three matches. While Rajasthan are sitting pretty on third with 11 points from nine games, Chennai are one place below with 10 points from eight games.

It is quite hot and humid in Chennai and the MA Chidambaram stadium pitch is expected to help the spinners.
