Kings XI Punjab captain Adam Gilchrist won the toss and elected to bowl against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bangalore, on Friday.

The spin of the coin went perfectly for Punjab. The visitors added two extra pacers in their line-up in Ryan McLaren and Love Ablish to take advantage of the early help that the pitch is expected to provide.

Bangalore brought in Asad Pathan in place of Syed Mohammad.

There is an interesting pitch on offer at the M Chinnaswamy stadium with a lot of big cracks and a tinge of green too.

"There should be a bit of help for the new ball, so we are looking for a few early wickets," said Gilchrist.

Former India opener Navjot Singh Sidhu says "the cracks will put the batsmen in a quandry."

Hosts Bangalore are in good form heading into the contest having won their last three matches, while Punjab are desperate for a win after three straight losses.
