Mumbai Indians thrashed Delhi Daredevils by 32 runs in their Indian Premier League match at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.
Chasing a formidable target (179) to win, the visitors could manage only 146.
The win, Mumbai's eighth in 10 matches, consolidates their place at the top of the table with 16 points and virtually assures them a berth in the play-offs.
On the other hand, Delhi's defeat, their seventh in 11 matches, rules out any hopes of a berth in the last four.

Malinga rattles Irfan Pathan's (23) stumps in the 18th over. It is the 24th wicket for the Sri Lankan, the most by a bowler in an IPL season.
Dhaval Kulkarni is brought back to bowl the penultimate over and gives away eight runs, including a boundary to Agarkar.
Malinga bowls the final over with Delhi needing a whopping 42 to win. The umpire bars the Sri Lankan from bowling after three balls and Pollard completes the over, getting Morkel's (10) and Ajit Agarkar's (7) wickets off the fourth and the penultimate balls in the bargain.
Delhi all out for 146 with a ball to spare and Mumbai win by 32 runs.

Harbhajan resumes after the breather and Irfan hits successive boundaries off the first two balls.
But James Hopes (55) is unfortunately run out off the fifth ball to all but end Delhi's hopes. Hopes' 44-ball knock was inclusive off 10 boundaries.
Harbhajan ensures a double blow by having Yogesh Nagar caught first ball by Munaf.
Delhi 123 for seven after 17 overs.

Andrew Symonds bowls the 13th over and concedes 15 runs, with Rao hitting a boundary to square leg off the fifth ball and following it up with a maximum over long-on.
However, Kulkarni gives Mumbai the breakthrough in the next over, rattling Rao's stumps.
Rao's 27-ball 37 was inclusive of four hits to the fence and one over it and he put on 87 runs (in 65 balls) for the fifth wicket with James Hopes to revive the Delhi innings.

Harbhajan comes in to bowl the 15th over. And Hopes reaches a well-deserved fifty in the over.
Munaf is brought back into the attack in the 16th over and Delhi reach the 100-run mark in the over. 15 runs come off the over.

Seven runs come off Bhajji's second over. It is Kieron Pollard into the attack in the 10th over, and Delhi reach the 50-run mark in the over, when Hopes hits the third ball to the square leg fence.
The fourth ball is sent to wide mid-off for another boundary.
Andrew Symonds is brought into the attack in the 11th over and Hopes and Rao complete a 50-run partnership for the fifth wicket in the over.
Pollard bowls the 12th over and concedes 12 runs, with Hopes and Rao finding the boundary. Delhi 76 for four after 12 overs.

After five overs, Delhi was tottering at 13 for four.
Dhaval Kulkarni continues in the sixth over and James Hopes eases the pressure a bit with successive boundaries, the first over extra cover and the second past a diving Munaf at deep square leg.
The seventh over is Munaf's third and Hopes continues his belligerence with a couple of boundaries, the first past third man and the second past point four balls later.
Malinga replaces Kulkarni (2-0-15-0) in the eighth over and Hopes thumps the third ball over wide mid-on for a boundary. He is dropped by Munaf in the fifth ball though.
Delhi 39 for four after eight overs, and the first timeout is taken.

Hopes continues after the break and so does Rayudu, dismissing the last two balls of the over for successive boundaries, the first to deep backward square leg and the second through covers.
Nadeem continues in the 11th over and concedes just six runs.
Agarkar replaces Hopes (2-0-17-0) in the 12th over. Rayudu survives a run out attempt off the second ball and Sharma survives when Warner drops a difficult chance in the fourth ball.
The over is expensive, 14 coming off it with Rayudu smashing a maximum over deep backward square leg off the last ball.
Nadeem (3-0-14-1) is replaced by Morkel in the 13th over. Sharma hits a maximum off the third ball to help his team get past the 100-run mark.
The shot also helps bring on the 50-run stand for the third wicket. Mumbai 107 for two after 13 overs.

Ambati Rayudu helps himself to a boundary past backward point off the third ball. Nadeem bowls the ninth over, the last before the first timeout, and concedes five runs.

Tendulkar hits a wonderful on-drive in the first ball of Irfan's second over for his second boundary.

Tendulkar slams his second delivery past point for a boundary and three balls later, Blizzard hits his eighth boundary to help Mumbai reach the 50-run mark in the fifth over.
However, in the second ball of the sixth over, Delhi eventually get a breakthrough when Irfan cleans up Sachin Tendulkar (14). Mumbai 50 for one after six overs.
Meanwhile, Kolkata have beaten Chennai by 10 runs (D/L method) at the Eden Gardens in a rain-curtailed match.

Sachin Tendulkar and Aiden Blizzard open the innings for Mumbai and it is Morne Morkel who opens with the ball for Delhi.
Blizzard, having negotiated the first three balls, hits the fourth ball past point for a boundary and follows it up by pulling the fifth past midwicket for another boundary.
Irfan Pathan bowls the second over and concedes just five runs.

"I have told my boys to play freely, and without any pressure," says Virender Sehwag. His opposite number isn't too unhappy with the toss loss.

Just when Gambhir and Kallis looked to have revived Kolkata after the Morgan blow, Ashwin struck again as he removes Gambhir.

Gambhir looks to attack the off-spinner, chipping down the track miscuing the shot and Suraj Randiv takes an easy catch at point.

So going has been tough for Chennai as Kolkata restricts Chennai to 114-3 Badrinath played a fantastic innings under pressure finishing with 54.

His innings included three boundaries and two massive sixes.

Morkel gave him good company as the duo added64 runs for the fourth wicket.

Morkel was unbeaten on 30.

For Kolkata, Iqbal Abdullah was the pick of the bowlers with 1-15 off his four overs.

Chennai has some good slow bowlers and with the wickets not an easy one to bat on, it might just turn out to be a competitive score.

In the previous over of Jaidev Unadkat, Chennai did get some vital runs scoring 11 runs off the over.

Kolkata are missing chances too in the middle as as many as three catches were dropped in space of three overs.
