A slower ball it seems as Tendulkar plays one in the air as Shaun Marsh obliges by taking a sitter at backward point.

In the next over, Bipul Sharma catches another fish as he sends Rohit Sharma back to the pavillion for five.

Rohit tries to flick one on the legside, misses the ball, falling over a bit and Gilly is way too quick to remove the bails.

Vital contribution from Dinesh Karthik (31) helped the hosts cross the 150-run mark.

Malinga gave Munaf perfect company with 2-24.

Mumbai finally got rid of the dangerman Shaun Marsh after Pollard took a blinder to send the Australian back.

Marsh pulled a short delivery from Munaf and the ball looked set for a one-bounce boundary, but Pollard plucked one out of the air to give Mumbai the breakthrough.

David Hussey too was back in the hut for nought much to the delight of Mumbai fans.

Sachin Tendulkar finally wins a toss and have decided to bowl first against bottom placed Kings XI Punjab.

While Mumbai is going in with the same side, Punjab has made one side with Bipul Sharma comming in for Chitnis.

In the earlier game of the day, Sourav Ganguly led Pune to a convincing six wickets win over Deccan Chargers.

Dada made a brisk 32 off as many balls to see the team home.

19:29
Live scorecard

Pune complete the formalities in the penultimate over as Ferguson hit the winning runs with a single on the leg side.

Ganguly finished on a brisk 32 from as many balls, while Ferguson hit a quick 15 from eight balls as Pune cruised to 137 for four in 18.2 overs to win by six wickets with 10 balls remaining.

"This is the toughest day of my cricket career. I came into the game with zero confidence," confessed Ganguly after the match.

This was Pune's second straight win after a run of seven losses.

Meanwhile, accolades pouring in for Dada on Twitter.

Sanjay Manjrekar: Considering the circumstances, saurav did well did'nt he ?

Harsha Bhogle: fantastic to see the smile on ganguly's face. this is what he wanted!!

Raja Sen: Welcome back, Dada. That six was vintage awesomeness.

Rajaneesh Vilakudy: 32 balls 32 runs. Sourav. Ganguly. Attention: RaOne.
19:13
Live scorecard

Ganguly gets another streaky boundary. He guided a full delivery from Ishant to the thirdman region where Steyn messes up an easy chance to give away a boundary.

But disaster in the next over for Pune as captain Yuvraj is bowled by Christian for two. The left-hander tried to pull a short delivery but got an inside edge and lost his middle stump.

Calum Ferguson starts off in smashing fashion with a hat-trick of boundaries. He hit compatriot Christian for a four down the ground followed by one through the covers and despatched a full toss through midwicket to make it three in a row.
18:58
Live scorecard

Ganguly is looking to maintain a positive approach. He opened his front hip and looked to blast Steyn through the off-side but decided against the shot at the last moment.

A couple of deliveries later he once again makes room but gets an inside edge and to Deccan's misfortune it misses the stumps and goes behind the wickets for a four. Ganguly, as expected, is not happy with the shot.

Pune are 112 for three in 15 overs and at the same stage Deccan were 112 for four. The hosts messed up in the last few overs or else they could have posed a serious challenge with the ball.
18:53
Live scorecard

Ganguly shows his class against the spinners as he comes down the wicket to Mishra and lofts him over square leg for his first six.

The entire Pune dugout is up in celebrations as if Ganguly has completed a half-century :)

Mishra bowls a no-ball but the resultant free is hit is worked down the ground by Ganguly for a single.

Pune now need 31 from the remaining six overs for victory.
18:48
Live scorecard

Is there some hope left for Deccan Chargers?

Pune have suddenly hit a roadblock with wickets falling at regular wickets. Robin Uthappa is unlucky to be given out. The short ball from Christian struck him on his shoulder before being caught by Sangakkara but umpire Amish Saheba had no hesitation in ruling him out.

Uthappa (1) walks back in pain and disappointing of losing his wicket in such an unfortunate manner.

Yuvraj almost threw his away off the first ball he faced. He went after a wide short delivery from Christian but missed the cut shot and was lucky that the ball missed the edge too.

Deccan also faltered after a good start and it remains to be seen whether Pune's batsmen will repeat that?
18:39
Live scorecard

Steyn comes back for his second over following his horror start against Ryder. Pandey is lucky as his thick edges flies past a diving Sangakkara for a boundary, but there is only a single in the rest of the over.

Pandey is hogging most of the strike and I am sure Ganguly won't mind it as he looks to play himself in.

Pandey defends the first three balls of Mishra's over but carts the next ball over midwicket for a six as the leggie drops it short.

He tries to take a single off the next ball to complete his fifty but misses the quicker delivery and is trapped leg before wicket for a brisk 49 from 42 balls.
18:35
Live scorecard

Ganguly defends the first two balls of Ojha's over before charging down and hitting the next ball down the ground to get off the mark for his new team.

While others around him are crumbling, Ojha has managed to hold his own. He continues to impress with the ball, giving away four in his third over, for good figures one for 13.

After a quiet start, Ganguly has decided to cut loose. The veteran gives himself room and unleashes his trademark cut through extra cover for his first four in IPL 2011.

He then attempts the pull shot off the next ball but fails to get the distance and manages only two runs.

At the halfway stage, Pune are comfortably placed at 82 for one, needing another 55 from the last ten overs.

18:22
Live scorecard

Duminy is brought back into the attack. Pandey helps himself to a boundary as he pulls a short ball through midwicket and repeats the shot two balls later but this time he gets the distance for a six.

Duminy is struggling with his bowling. The final ball of that over is also short ball that Pandey despatches through midwicket for yet another four.

Deccan's bowling has been a big letdown and Pune look set for a big win.

18:19
Live scorecard

Ojha gets the breakthrough for Deccan. Ryder, who smashed 35 from 20 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes, tried to play the sweep but missed the ball and was bowled.

A big relief for Deccan, but Pune are in control after that blazing start.

Out walks Ganguly, one of India's best captains, to a huge cheer from the fans. He defends the first ball and once again there is a big roar.
18:15
Live scorecard

Daniel Christian into the attack now. Pandey opens the face of the bat for a boundary through thirdman to welcome the Australian to the bowling crease.

Just another single in that over as Christian makes a neat start to his spell.

Sangakkara is juggling his bowlers around. He now introduces leg-spinner Amit Mishra. But Pune openers continue their attacking approach.

Pandey pulls a short ball through midwicket for a four but fails to pick up the googly. Even Ryder is beaten by the googly as he gets the edge but to Deccan's misfortune it goes to the thirdman region for a four.

18:08
Live scorecard

As expected, Deccan Chargers introduce spin with Pragyan Ojha introduced into the attack.

The first ball spins quite a bit beating Manish Pandey all ends up and he hit the next ball to extra cover where Dhawan let it through his legs to concede a boundary.

Six runs from that over from Ojha and Sangakkara brings on another spinner from the other end in the form of JP Duminy.

But Ryder is no mood to relent. He charges down the wicket to Duminy and hits him over long-on for another big six.

Pune are running away with the contest as they reach 38 for no loss in four overs.
17:59
Live scorecard

Manish Pandey starts off conservatively, taking a single off the third ball he faced from Ishant Sharma in the second over.

But there is no stopping Ryder. He lofts Ishant down the ground twice for successive boundaries to race to 22 from just nine balls.
17:54
Live scorecard

Jesse Ryder and Manish Pandey will open the batting for Pune, which means Ganguly will most likely bat at number three.

Ryder gets the first boundary for the visitors as he punched Steyn through the covers for a four. The very next ball Ryder pulled the pacer for a huge six into the second tier of the stands over square leg.

An angry Steyn tried a bouncer but it was down the leg side and was called a wide. Ryder ended the over in some style as he crashed a full delivery through the offside for yet another four to make it 15 runs from the opening over.

17:41
Live scorecard

Steyn adds some much needed runs to the total with three doubles of the first three balls of the final over bowled by compatriot Parnell.

Steyn then crashed the next ball down the ground for a four to race to 11 but he was caught at long-off the very next ball as he hit a full toss straight to Ferguson on the boundary.

Deccan Chargers finish on 136 for eight in their 20 overs. Having elected to bat, the hosts must be disappointed to have finished on this lowly score, especially after the blazing start from their openers.

Pune managed to bounce back with the ball in the middle overs. Yuvraj triggered the comeback as he took two for 17, while Sharma continued his good showing for one for 24.

But the star with the ball for Pune was Mitchell Marsh, the youngest son of team coach Geoff Marsh, as he claimed four wickets for 25, including three in his final over.

Deccan lost four wickets for 36 in the last five overs and would now be relying on their bowlers to do the trick with the ball.

17:33
Live scorecard

Marsh makes things worse for Deccan with three wickets in five balls in his final over.

Duminy falls looking for the big shot. He holes out to the long-off fielder to give Marsh his second wicket of the innings after scoring 30 from as many balls.

Sunny Sohal was caught behind for a duck, while Amit Mishra was caught in the covers also without scoring.

Dale Steyn, somehow, kept the hat-trick ball out as he got an inside edge.

Marsh ends with dream figures of four for 25 in four overs to leave Deccan struggling at 125 for seven in 19 overs.
17:26
Live scorecard

Deccan Chargers are struggling to get the big hits. Parnell keeps it simple in the 18th over, bowling it full and straight and concedes just seven runs in his third over.

Things went horribly wrong for Deccan in the middle overs and losing wickets at regular intervals added to their misery.

17:21
Live scorecard

Deccan are gifted a boundary and the guilty part is the veteran Ganguly. The left-hander, fielding in the covers, let one slip through his legs to give Bharat Chipli his first four, off Marsh.

Leg spinner Sharma completes a wonderful spell. Just five runs in his final over for impressive figures of one for 24 in his four overs.

With the selection meeting for the West Indies tour on May 13, one can be sure his name will be hotly debated.

Deccan are 112 for four in 17 overs.
17:10
Live scorecard

Duminy brings some cheer back to his homefans as he lofts Kumar down the ground for a four.

Christian also gets his first boundary in that over as he flicks a full delivery through point. It is a good over for Deccan with 12 runs coming from Kumar's third over and they will be looking to maintain the momentum in the last six overs.

Yuvraj makes a change by bringing himself on for Sharma. And the Pune captain delivers another important wicket for his team as he traps Christian leg before wicket for 10.

Deccan are 100 for four in 15 overs and their hopes of posting a score around the 150-mark will depend largely on Duminy, who has made 22 from 20 balls.
17:00
Live scorecard

A slow motion close up of Rahul Sharma's action reveals that his right eye is closed as he delivers the ball.

Sharma spins past Daniel Christian's outside edge as the right-hander looked to cut it past point. Deccan batsmen are looking to deal in singles at the moment as the boundaries have once again dried up.

Deccan were 50 for no loss after six overs, but have managed only 36 in the next seven, while losing three wickets.
16:54
Live scorecard

Leg-spinner Sharma is back into the attack and he claims the big wicket of Sangakkara.

The Deccan captain tried to play the sweep but missed completely and was trapped plumb in front of the wickets.

Sharma's reputation continues to grow with every passing game.
16:48
Live scorecard

The boundaries have dried up for Deccan with the loss of those two wickets. Duminy and captain Kumar Sangakkara will be looking to stitch together a meaningful partnership and give their team a launch pad for the final few overs.

Sangakkara breaks the shackles in the next over as he charges down the wicket and plays his trademark flick over midwicket for a four, the first after nearly four overs.

At the halfway stage, Deccan have reached 72 for two with Sangakkara on 10 and Duminy on seven.

16:39
Live scorecard

Deccan falter after a good start. They have lost another wicket and this time it is Teja, who inside edges it back on to his stumps to be bowled for 30 from 27 balls.

Mitchell Marsh also gets a wicket in his first over as Pune bounce back after a poor showing by their seamers.

JP Duminy shows his good form as he drives a full ball through the covers with Yuvraj coming up with a diving save to stop a certain boundary.

Just nine runs in the last two overs with Deccan losing both their openers.

16:35
Live scorecard

Yuvraj brings himself into the attack now. Things are getting desperate for the visitors and the captain gets the much needed breakthrough for his team.

Dhawan tried to play a big shot down the ground but ended up holing a simple catch to Ryder in the covers after scoring 24 from 17 balls.

A good first over from Yuvraj to peg back Deccan after a flying start.
16:27
Live scorecard

The two young Deccan openers are doing in in some style. Teja plays a cracking drive through the covers for a wonderful boundary off Parnell.

Dhawan, after being nearly done in by a yorker from Parnell, plays a cross batted hoick against the pacer for a six over square leg, his second of the innings to take the hosts to 50 after six overs.

16:22
Live scorecard

After a poor start by his pacers, Yuvraj calls upon his best bowler of the tournament so far in leg-spinner Rahul Sharma.

The youngster stands a chance of making it to the Indian team for the ODI series in West Indies after his impressive showing in the IPL this year.

He bowled a good tight over till it was spoiled by Dhawan, who charged down the wicket and hit a straight six.

16:17
After a poor start Wagh is taken off the attack and he is replaced by South African left-armer Wayne Parnell.

Wagh nearly pulls off a stunning catch at square leg. He dived full length to his right but failed to cling on as Dhawan looked to flick Parnell through the leg side.

Dhawan gets his first boundary as he cut a short wide delivery from Parnell past the point fielder.

Despite not taking any risks, Deccan have got off to a quick start and this is down to some poor bowling by the Pune opening bowlers.
16:12
Teja gets off to a quick start. Srikanth Wagh suffers as Teja hits the last two balls of his first over for back to back boundaries.

Teja has come out firing. In the next over, he cuts Kumar over the point fielder for yet another four.

After three overs, Deccan have reached 20 with Teja hitting 15 of those.
16:04
Shikhar Dhawan and Ravi Teja open the batting for Deccan, while Bhuvanesh Kumar takes the new ball for Pune.

It is an interesting choice by Pune since Wayne Parnell and Srikanth Wagh had done well with the new ball in the previous matches.

It is a quiet start as just runs come for the opening over, with both batsmen taking two singles each.

There is a big cheer in the stadium every time Ganguly is shown on the big screen
15:47
Scorecard

Deccan Chargers captain Kumar Sangakkara won the toss and elected to bat against Pune Warriors India in the Indian Premier League in Hyderabad, on Tuesday.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly finally made his IPL comeback after being included in the playing eleven by Pune Warriors.

Meanwhile, the hosts have brought in left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha to replace Ishan Malhotra.

Both teams are virtually out of the running for a top-four finish and will look to play for pride in their remaining matches.

15:32
Deccan Chargers take on Pune Warriors in a low-key clash with both teams having been virtually eliminated from the race for the eliminators.

The only interest in today's match will be to see whether former India captain Sourav Ganguly will make his debut for Pune.

It is a bat first wicket with spinners expected to get a lot of assistance in the second half of the game.
