Kolkata thrash Pune by seven wickets

Kolkata Knight Riders scored a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Pune Warriors in their Indian Premier League match at the DY Patil stadium on Thursday to move up to third in the table and boost their chances of making it to the play-offs.
It was Kolkata's eighth win in 13 matches and puts them on 16 points, ahead of Mumbai Indians - whom they play next - on net run rate.
Chasing a modest total (119), KKR raced home with 20 balls to spare, Gautam Gambhir leading from the front with a masterful unbeaten 54.
On the other hand, it was a ninth defeat in 13 matches for the Pune team.

A superlative partnership of 64 runs for the third wicket by Gautam Gambhir and Yusuf Pathan (29) ensured Kolkata Knight Riders a comforatble seven-wicket win over Pune Warriors at the DY Patil stadium on Thursday.
Chasing a modest target (119), the visitors raced home with 20 balls to spare.
Pathan was dismissed with just two runs left. However, by then the writing was on the wall.
Gambhir remained unbeaten on 54 to lead his team to a vital win.

Pune have put up a vapid showed with the bat on their home turf, managing just 118 for seven in their stipulated quota of overs.
