Ishant Sharma to start the proceedings after the Tea interval. West Indies have done well in the post lunch session -- thanks to Adrian Barath and Kirk Edwards.

Three dot balls to start off after tea...Many believe that Dhoni was too defensive in the post lunch session.

And as we speak, Ishant provides the breakthrough as Barath edges one to VVS Laxman in slips.

Barath flashed hard at a widish half-volley -- the ball almost died on VVS, who took a neat little catch. Barath was back in the hut for well made 62.

West Indies were 117-2 from 33 overs -- still trailing by 361 runs.

It was a script that West Indies team management expected in the first innings.

After losing Kraigg Brathwaite early, Adrian Barath and Kirk Edwards have put their heads down to deny Indian bowlers any wicket.

Spinners and pacers have bowled well in patches but on the whole, the wicket seems to have eased out considerably.

Barath completed a well-derved half-cenury, while Edwards too playing attacking cricket against the spinners.

At the end of 30 overs West Indies were 105-1, still trailing by 373 runs. Barath is on 56, while Edwards is on 38.

With nothing much happening off the pitch -- surprisingly -- Barath and Edwards have played positive cricket to put on a 50-run stand.

Spinners so far have failed to get the momentum that they got before lunch and Ishant too has been ineffective.

At the end of 20 overs West Indies were 78-1. Barath is on 42, while Edwards is on 26.

It is the worst possible start the West Indies could have hoped for on Day 3 at the Eden Gardens.

Two quick wickets have put India on top, courtesy the spinners who have pushed West Indies on the back foot.

It was Pragyan Ojha who picked the first wicket of the morning, removing Kirk Edward for just 16. Edwards was deep in his crease to a ball which he should have been front -- looks like an arm ball.

Ball hits the pad and a loud shout follows and umpire is more than happy to raise the finger.

Ashwin then had the big scalp, when he trapped Shivnarain Chanderpaul right in front of the stumps for four.

West Indies were 49-4 after 21 overs.
