Just as the Delhi fans were starting to rejoice they were dealt a big blow in the form of captain and opener Sehwag. He tried to cut Zaheer but only managed to cut it to Pujara in the covers.

De Villiers was the standout performer for Bangalore as he finished unbeaten on 64 from 42 balls, with six fours and two sixes. McDonald provided the hosts with a quick start, hitting 30 from 19 balls, but the rest of the batsmen failed to make any decent contributions.

Bangalore made good progress in the final overs as they hit 49 runs from the last five overs, losing two wickets.

But Bangalore will be fancying their chances of defending this total, given the experience in their bowling attack featuring the likes of Zaheer, Muralitharan and Vettori.

For Delhi, the key guy will be captain Virender Sehwag. If he gets off to a start and can manage to stay for a few overs, then Delhi will certainly be the favourites to chase down the total.

New Zealand's in-form pacer Doug Bracewell to bowl the second over. The first ball swings away from the batsman as Pujara plays an uppish shot through the vacant gully region for a single to the thirdman region. McDonald defends the next ball, while he is DROPPED off the next ball as Maxwell makes a valiant effort in the covers. But McDonald gets the next ball off the middle as he chips it over the off-side field for a six. Bracewell keeps the Aussie quiet for the next two balls to end the over.
