Scorecard:

AB de Villiers has come to join Virat Kohli at the crease. He begins with a boundary off Jadeja.

However, he doesn't survive for long, a mistimed reverse pull hook Morkel ensuring a simple catch for Jakati.

Saurabh Tiwary comes out to bat, with Bangalore having lost two quick wickets.

Kohli eases the pressure with a maximum over midwicket. Another couple helps him reach a well-deserved fifty. He celebrates the same with his second six. Morkel gives away 17 runs off his last over, thereby spoiling what was otherwise an impressive spell.

A spectacular catch by Raina curtails Tiwary's (8) stay at the crease, helping Jadeja get his second wicket.

Bollinger to bowl the last over. The Australian accounts for Kohli first ball, having him caught by Faf du Plessis. Kohli's 46-ball 57 was inclusive of five boundaries and two sixes.

17:25
Scorecard:

The partnership between Gayle and Kohli is the first century plus partnership in this IPL.

The second wicket stand has so far yielded RCB  109 runs in 66 balls.

However, the introduction of Ravindra Jadeja soon after resumption gets Chennai the all important wicket of Gayle, the Caribbean skying to Bravo.

Gayle's 35-ball 68 was inclusive of two boundaries and six sixes. However, Jadeja's over is an expensive one otherwise.

Bangalore 173 for two after 17 overs.
17:17
Scorecard:

Jakati continues and so does Gayle, hitting successive sixes, the second helping him reach a well-deserved half century.

It has come off just 28 balls. Jakati has gone for 27 in his first two overs. Dhoni might not just hand him the ball again.

Bravo is back and Gayle welcomes him with a maximum, a shot that almost goes out of the roof. After an unexpectedly quite start Gayle has gone berserk in the last few overs, hitting as many as six sixes. And that's not good news for Chennai.

To make matters worse, Kohli is also looking in good touch. Bravo ends with figures of none for 26, excellent figures considering the belligerent mood of the two Bangalore batsmen.

Ashwin back into the attack before the break. RCB reach the 150-run mark in the over. A boundary by Gayle in the over also helps raise the 100-run partnership for the second wicket.

Bangalore 161 for one after 16 overs. Time for the second strategic timeout.

Scorecard:

Bravo continues after the breather, giving away just six runs including a boundary to Kohli. Morkel brought back into the attack in the 11th over and RCB reach the 100-run mark in the over, courtesy a Kohli boundary.

The shot also helps raise the 50-run partnership for the second wicket. Shadab Jakati into the attack in the 12th over. It is a costly one, 14 coming off it.

Bangalore 118 for one after 12 overs.

It's a twin bowling change for Chennai, Dwayne Bravo replacing Ashiwn (3-0-34-0) in the attack in the seventh over. He concedes six runs first up, including a boundary to Kohli.

Suresh Raina to bowl the ninth over. Gayle, inexplicably quite so far, cuts loose smashing the first two balls for sixes over long-on. The  fourth ball is also hit for six by Gayle.

Bangalore 90 for one after nine overs. Time for the first strategic timeout.
16:27
Scorecard:

Agarwal gets himself a second maximum in Ashwin's third over. Two balls later, he helps himself to a third, the shot also helping the visitors get past the 50-run mark in just the fifth over.

Gayle has got only five at this point. Can you believe it?

Albie Morkel replaces Bollinger (2-0-17-0) in the attack in the sixth over. He strikes second ball, having Agarwal caught by Bravo at mid-on.

Agarwal, dropped by Bollinger on 16, eventually departs for 45, his 26-ball knock inclusive of five hits to the fence and three over it.

Bangalore 56 for one after six overs.
16:17

Doug Bollinger to share the new ball. He starts off with a wide.He concedes six in the over, including a boundary to Agarwal.

Despite Gayle opening the batting, it is Agarwal who's cut loose. In Ashwin's second over he takes 11 runs including a couple of boundaries. He is also fortunate as Bollinger puts him down.

To make matters worse for the Australian, Agarwal takes 10 off his second over, including a maximum.

Bangalore 37 without loss after four overs.
16:03
Scorecard:

Raju Bhatkal comes in place of Harshal Patel for RCB while Chennai remain unchanged.
