All seems over for Pune now. They manage just seven runs off the last over to end with 151 for seven.

Chennai win by 13 runs, a much-needed result for Dhoni and company. It is their third win in six matches in the competition. It is the second straight loss.

Pune need 25 off their final two overs. Bollinger to bowl the penultimate over.

The Aussie strikes second ball, having compatriot Smith (22) caught by Faf du Plessis at long-on. Bhuvneswar Kumar comes out to join Mathews.

Pune 140 for five after 18 overs.

23:07  Scorecard:

Shadab Jakati is introduced into the attack in the eighth over and gives away only three runs in his first over.

Pune go into the first strategic timeout at 61 for three as they manage only a couple off the ninth over bowled by Jadeja.

Jakati strikes soon after resumption, having Sourav Ganguly (24) caught by Kulasekara at mid-off.

Steven Smith comes in to replace his captain. Jakati's third over is an expensive one with Samuels finding the boundary twice as 13 come off it. Samuels continues his onslaught, smashing Bravo for a maximum, the latter conceding 11 runs in his second.

Ashwin replaces Jakati (3-0-20-1) in the 14th over and strikes second ball, having the seemingly dangerous Samuels (26) caught by Kulasekara.

Angelo Mathews comes in to bat.

Pune 100 for five after 14 overs.

The first five balls of Ashwin's second over cost Chennai only three runs but Manish Pandey smashes the last ball over mid-on for a six.

Nuwan Kulasekara to share the new ball and Uthappa welcomes him with a boundary first ball. However, the bowler has his revenge in the next ball having Uthappa (8) caught by Ashwin at mid-off.

Jadeja (7) is caught off the last ball by Rahul Sharma. Dhoni remains unbeaten on 28, off just 12 balls.

Chennai put up 163 for five in their stipulated 20 overs, with 18 comings off Samuels's last over.
21:34  Scorecard:

Two wickets in an over, three balls to be precise, has brought Pune right back with four overs to go.

There are two new batsmen at the crease, Suresh Raina and his captain MS Dhoni. Ashish Nehra back into the attack.

He strikes third ball, Raina (0) failing to control a short ball and Kartik managing to take the catch at fine-leg. Dhoni ends the over with a boundary.

Rahul Sharma to bowl the 18th over. Bravo gets a three off the first ball.  He ends with a maximum as 12 come off the over.

Chennai 137 for three after 18 overs.
21:23  Scorecard:

The opening wicket partnership is now worth more than 100 runs. It is the best opening partnership of this IPL.

Three successive boundaries in Bhuvneshwar Kumar's third over, the 15th of the innings, helps Badrinath reach his half century.

However, Pune finally get a breakthrough when Fa Du Plessis' (58) skies a Samuels' delivery and Mathews makes no mistake at deep square leg.

The South African's 48-ball innings was inclusive of four boundaries and a couple of sixes and put on 116 with Badrinath (57) for the opening wicket. The same bowler-fielder combine two balls later, to send Badri back.

Chennai 116 for two after 16 overs.
21:04  Scorecard:

Angelo Mathews is introduced into the attack in the eighth over, replacing Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2-0-22-0). It's an expensive overs, 12 runs coming off it with Badinath finding the boundary twice and Chennai reaching the 50-run mark in the over.

The opening partnership is now frustrating Pune no end. Du Plessis survives a run out attempt in the over.

Chennai 89 without loss after 13 overs.

Chennai nine without loss after three overs.

The home team has made as many as three changes to the side that lost in Pune.

Doug Bollinger, Shadab Jakati and Wridhimann Saha come in for Albie Morkel, Yo Mahesh and Murali Vijay respectively.

There's a lone change in the Pune side, Ashok Dinda making way for Murali Kartik.

Delhi 162-5 (19.1 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

What a dominating performance by Pietersen with the bat. He was dropped thrice and he made Deccan pay big time for their lapses on the field.

Pietersen finished unbeaten on a blazing knock of 103 from 64 balls as Delhi won by five wickets with five balls remaining.

Delhi continue their fine start to the tournament to lead the IPL table with four wins from five matches.
19:22   - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 162-5 (19.1 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

Pietersen needs three for a century, while Delhi need two for a win. Pietersen is on 97 from 63 balls, while Nagar has hit 23 from 15 balls.

Pietersen ends the match in style.

He smashes it back over the bowler for a four to complete his century and take Delhi to a victory.
19:20  - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 156-5 (19 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

Steyn comes to bowl his final over but the match has already slipped away from Deccan's grasp. Perhaps Sangakkara kept him waiting for too long.

Nagar his the first ball through covers for two runs and then takes a single from the next ball.

Pietersen is back on strike. He needs five runs to complete his century, while Delhi also need five for victory.

But he pulls the next ball to midwicket for a single to move to 96. And the last ball of that over, he gets another single to move to 97.
19:15   - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 150-5 (18 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

Christian comes to bowl his final over.

Pietersen is firing on all cylinders. He takes on Christian as he lofts a full ball down the ground and it goes over the long-off fielder for a SIX!!! his eight.

Duminy was way inside the ropes that time and the ball flew over his head. Maybe if he had stayed back on the ropes he could have taken it easily.

Nagar also joins in the party as he pulls the next ball from Christian through square leg for a boundary.

Pietersen gets another lifeline, his third drop of the innings as Sangakkara drops a difficult chance at covers.

14 runs from Christian's final over as Deccan reach 150 for five in 18 overs, now needing eight from two overs for victory.
19:10  - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 136-5 (17 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

Delhi need 37 from four overs for victory.

Veer Pratap Singh has come on to bowl at a crucial time. Pietersen is at his dominating best as he smashes a short ball from Singh over the cover fence for a SIX!!! his seventh of the innings.

The match is slipping away from Deccan's grasp. The next ball is full and Pietersen drives it down the ground for a single.

Nagar continues the flow of boundaries as he cuts it over the point fielder for a four as once again the bowler drops it short. He follows up with a yorker as Nagar can hit it to long-off for a single.

Pietersen takes a single and Nagar hits it to the covers for two runs as 15 runs come from that over.

Another record for Pietersen as Rajneesh Gupta points out on Twitter: "A match of milestones for Pietersen- hits his 200th four in T20s, reaches 2000-run mark & makes his highest score in T20s!"

Christian back to bowl his third over. He starts with two dot balls to Yogesh Nagar before he hits it to the thirdman region for a single.

Pietersen (78 from 53 balls) back on strike and Delhi need 42 from 27 balls.

He hits the next ball straight to midwicket but gets a single from the next ball to long-off. Nagar cuts the final ball of that over for a boundary past the point fielder.

37 needed from last four overs for victory.
18:58   - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 115-5 (15 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

Pietersen's attack is making the difference here. Delhi now need 45 runs from six overs for victory.

Deccan are desperate for a wicket now, and they will do well with Pietersen's wicket. They bring back their best bowler Steyn back into the attack.

And he delivers with the wicket of Pathan. The left-hander tries to pull a short ball from Steyn but it is too quick for him and he gloves it to the keeper for five.

Quite unnecessary shot that from Pathan!

A brilliant over from Steyn as he concedes just two runs while taking a wicket to give his team some hope. 43 runs needed from five over for victory.
18:51  - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 113-4 (14 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

Pietersen has been dropped twice in the innings and it has proved so costly for Deccan Chargers.

Amit Mishra is back to bowl his second over after being taken apart by Pietersen in his first over. Pietersen defends the first ball and plays the next ball to short thirdman fielder for a single.

There is no stopping Pietersen at the moment! He continues to attack Mishra as he dances down the wicket and lofts him down the ground for another huge SIX!!! his sixth of the innings.

18:48  - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 104-4 (13 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

Delhi need 75 runs from the last eight overs for victory.

Pietersen takes a single from the first ball of Duminy's new over to complete his fifty from 42 balls.

Duminy then gifts him a full toss which Pietersen sends into the stands at long-on for a SIX!!! Duminy has not learnt anything from the previous mistake. He bowls another full toss which Pietersen despatches over the midwicket fence for another SIX!!!

He makes it a hat-trick of SIXES against Duminy as he lofts it back over the bowler for another maximum.

Pietersen is put down off the next ball. He smashes a full toss straight back but Duminy fails to hold on to a difficult catch as umpire Billy Bowden ducks for cover.

That over has changed the course of the match with 21 runs coming from it. Pietersen has raced to 69 from 46 balls as Delhi have reached 104 for four in 13 overs.

18:42  - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 83-4 (12 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

83 runs needed from the last nine overs and Deccan still have two overs from Steyn in hand.

Ankeet is back for his second spell. Pietersen drills the first ball to long-off for a single. The left-arm spinner bowls a wide down the leg side before Pathan picks up a single.

Pietersen keeps the boundary coming as he drives a full ball through the covers for a four and ends the over with a single to long-off.
18:39  - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 75-4 (11 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

Duminy is back to bowl his second over. Pathan takes a single on the leg side from the second ball and Pietersen slaps it to deep midwicket for a couple. He then flicks it to square leg for one and Pathan inside edges the next ball, which misses the stumps by inches.

18:37   - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 71-4 (10 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

Christian is back into the attack and he replaces Mishra, who was smashed by Pietersen for 17 runs. Two singles from the first three balls before Delhi lost a big wicket in the form of Ross Taylor, who is run out for 13.

Pietersen hit it to the covers and the two batsmen set off for a quick single, but Dhawan's direct hit from the covers caught Taylor short of his crease.

Christian bowls a bouncer first up to Irfan Pathan but it sails over his head and is called a wide. Pietersen continues his attacking batting as he smashes it through the covers for yet another boundary to move to 40 from 34 balls.

At the halfway stage, Delhi are 71 for four, needing another 87 runs in ten overs for victory.
18:31  - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 63-3 (9 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

Duminy is off after just one over and he is replaced by left-arm spinner Ankeet Sharma. This is interesting -- a left-arm spinner bowling to Pietersen, who has a definite problem against this breed of slow bowlers.

Pietersen was dropped on six, but now he has raced to 34 from 26 balls, with the help of four fours and two sixes.

Taylor gets three runs from the first ball as VP Singh misfields at deep midwicket. Pietersen is looking to force some shots against the left-arm spinner Sharma but so far he is not getting anything here. Four dot balls before he takes a single from the last ball of that over.
18:25  - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 59-3 (8 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

It's spin from both ends as Amit Mishra comes into the attack. Pietersen is beaten off the first ball as the leg-spinner gets it to turn a bit. But Pietersen smashes the next ball, a bit short in the length, through the covers for a boundary. He then chips down the wickets and lofts it high over the stands at long-on for a huge SIX!!!

KP is on fire at the moment. Mishra yet again drops it short and Pietersen thumps it over the cover region again for yet another SIX!!!

A horror start for Mishra with the ball as he gives away 17 runs in his first over.

After an indifferent start, Pietersen has put Delhi back on track with that assault on Mishra.
18:22  - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 42-3 (7 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

Part-timer JP Duminy into the attack now. Pietersen jumps down the wicket and slaps it back past the bowler for a four. He plays the fourth ball to long-on for a single and Taylor hits the last ball on the leg side for two runs.

Deccan looking to keep a couple of overs from Steyn for the end as he is replaced by VP Singh after taking one for 11 in two overs.

Singh starts with a poor delivery as Taylor pulls a short ball through midwicket for a four. He cuts the next ball but it goes straight to the point fielder but the next ball goes past the point fielder to thirdman for one.

The last two balls also go for singles as Delhi reach 34 for three in six overs.
18:12   - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Australian Dan Christian is in the attack now after two good overs from debutant VP Singh, who took one for nine in two overs.

And Christian also strikes in his first over. Jayawardene tries to muscle it over the off-side but holes out a simple catch to compatriot Sangakkara in the covers for six.

But Delhi have no need to worry as yet. New Zealand captain Ross Taylor walks out to bat.

Pietersen smashes a short ball through the covers as Chipli misfields to gift an easy boundary.
18:06   - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 20-2 (4 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

Pietersen gets a lifeline!! Pietersen pulls a short ball from Steyn but Chipli at short midwicket puts down an easy catch. The Deccan fielders are looking around in disbelief. Chipli didn't have time to react but it was straight to him and he should have snapped it.

But Steyn gets the wicket he deserved. Sehwag opens the face of the bat and guides it straight into the hands of Christian at first slip to fall for seven.

Delhi have enough quality in their line-up though as out walks Mahela Jayawardene to join Pietersen in the middle.

The Sri Lankan captain is off the mark in some style. He chips a full delivery from Steyn over midwicket for a boundary. The next ball is played on the up but it goes to the thirdman region for one.
18:00  - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Delhi 14-1 (4 ovs) vs Deccan 157-8

VP Singh is high on confidence after a wicket in his first over. He bowls a few good balls to Pietersen in his second over, keeping him glued to the batting end before a single off the fourth ball.

Delhi 2-1 (1 over) vs Deccan 157-8

Virender Sehwag and Naman Ojha are the openers for Delhi Daredevils, while youngster Veer Pratap Singh has been given the big responsibility of bowling with the new ball.

The first ball is bang on target as Ojha can only defend it while he drives the next ball to the thirdman region for a single. Virender Sehwag flicks to the fine leg region for his first run of the contest.

But it is the young pacer Singh, who delivers the first blow for Deccan. Ojha holes out in the covers to be caught for one as Singh gets his first wicket in the IPL.
17:31  - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Deccan 157-8 (20 ovs) vs Delhi

Two singles to begin the final over from Morkel before Amit Mishra is foxed by the slower delivery. Mishra then flicks it to the leg side where Ross Taylor makes a brilliant stop at deep midwicket to stop a certain boundary and give away just two runs. Mishra is run out for six as he fails to get to his crease in time as the two batsmen go for a quick second run.

Deccan end on a competitive 157 for eight in their 20 overs.

They lost their way in the last few overs, losing six wickets for 56 runs in the last nine overs.

Agarkar follows up with two slower balls as the batsman is foxed by the change of pace on both occasions. But Chipli is third time lucky as he reads the slower ball early this time and lofts it back over the bowler for a four.

16 runs from Agarkar's over as he has now given 42 runs in three overs.
17:22   - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Deccan 135-7 (18 ovs) vs Delhi

Morne Morkel is back to bowl his third over. And he strikes with the wicket of Jhunjhunwala, who charges down the wicket and gives himself room but gets an edge which is taken by wicketkeeper Ojha.

Deccan will need to make most of the remaining couple of overs but instead they are throwing it away with some senseless batting.

Dale Steyn tries to chip it over the off-side but is caught by Sehwag at covers for 2 as Morkel gets his second wicket of the over.

Morkel gets two wickets in that over while giving away just five runs.

Deccan are losing the plot there. Christian tries to pull a short ball from Yadav, but it hits to the square leg where Nadeem completes a good catch

Deccan have lost their last three wickets for 19 runs to lose their position of strength. Chipli takes a single to the thirdman region, but new batsman Abhishek Jhunjhunwala struggles to get going with three dot balls as Yadav mixes his pace quite well. He finally breaks the shackles as he gets off the mark with a boundary over the point region.

Patel then hits a high full toss straight to the thirdman fielder where Agarkar completes a good catch. The umpires are consulting the third umpire on whether the ball was above the batsman's waist. And replays confirm that the ball was indeed above the waist and it is ruled a no-ball.

Those two runs also take Deccan past the 100-run mark in the 11th over. Yadav is also struggling to make an impact as he gives away 17 runs in his second over.
16:43   - Scorecard: Delhi vs Deccan

Shahbaz Nadeem into the attack now. The left-arm spinner bowled a match-winning spell, in the last match against Mumbai Indians and Delhi will want him to deliver again with a few wickets.

Nadeem strikes immediately with the first ball of his spell as he traps Dhawan LBW, who attempts to play the reverse sweep but misses. The left-hander lifted Deccan with a quick knock of 44 from 29 balls, but gifted his wicket away with a reckless shot.

Dan Christian is the new batsman for Deccan.

Just three runs from Nadeem's first over as he lifts Delhi with the wicket of Dhawan.

The next ball stays a bit low as Parthiv misses it but he throws his bat at the next delivery, which is a bit wide and it flies off the thick edge for a four.

Pathan then drops the next ball short and Patel has enough time to go on the backfoot and pull it to the square leg region for a four. He chips the next ball over the point fielder to make it three fours in that over.

14 runs from that over from Pathan as he struggled with his line and length.

Sangakkara gets a leading edge as he looks to play it on the leg side. The ball goes high in the air but Yogesh Nagar keeps his eye on the ball to complete a neat catch and send back Sangakkara for one.

Dhawan is beaten twice outside the off-stump as he looks to cut Morkel but misses the ball both times. The left-hander then plays the next ball on the leg side for one and new batsman Parthiv Patel drops it on the off-side for one.

Delhi spring a surprise by getting part-time off-spinner Kevin Pietersen to bowl the second over. Dhawan hits the first ball straight to point and is beaten off the next ball as he looks to cut. He steps down the wicket to the next ball but yet again it goes straight to the fielder at cover.

Pietersen drops it short and Dhawan is quick to rock on the backfoot and pull it past the square leg fielder for a boundary. He charges down the wicket off the next ball but gets an inside edge that beats the keeper to get him three runs.

Sangakkara hits the last ball of that over to the mid-on fielder as Pietersen concedes just seven in his first over.
