Royal Challengers Bangalore thrashed Rajasthan Royals by 46 runs in their Indian Premier League match at the Sawai Mansingh stadium on Monday.

Chasing a formidable 190 to win, the hosts could muster only 143 for seven in their 20 overs in what was a straight forward affair.

For Bangalore, it was their fourth win in seven matches and a revenge result over their hosts.

It was Rajasthan's fourth defeat in eight matches. Fortress Jaipur had been breached.

Owais Shah comes out to bat. It is a wicket and a single from Appanna first up.

Scorecard:

A six and a four off Trivedi helps De Villiers reach a well-deserved half century.

It is the second fastest fifty (off 21 balls) in the IPL behind Owais Shah's effort. He celebrates the same with another six. Trivedi goes for 21 in his final over to finish with none for 44 off four.

Cooper to bowl the final over.

The visitors score 78 off the last five.

Bangalore, after a sluggish start, end up with 189 for three in their stipulated 20 overs, thanks mainly to the unbeaten fourth wicket stand of 122 runs between De Villiers (59 not out) and Dilshan (76 not out).
21:26
Scorecard:

Hogg goes for 14 in his final over to finish with figures of two for 39. Cooper back to bowl the 18th over.

Agarwal and Dilshan put on 37 for the second wicket but the runs came in at snail's pace (36 balls).

Kevon Cooper replaces Ajit Chandila (2-0-13-0) in the attack in the fifth over.

Agarwal (on one) gets a reprieve when Stuart Binny puts down a simple chance. Cooper's first over was a maiden though.

Pankaj Singh continues with his third airport and Dilshan helps himself to two boundaries in the over.

Siddharth Trivedi, who took four for 25 in Bangalore, comes out to bowl in the seventh over. Pankaj will bowl out here. Agarwal hits successive boundaries off the first two balls but the bowler ends the over well.

Bangalore 57 for one after nine overs. Time for the first strategic timeout.
20:17

Virat Kohli (16) has spurned a wonderful opportunity, skying a Pankaj Singh delivery to Brad Hodge at deep cover. A very callous shot that.

Bangalore lose their first wicket. Mayank Agarwal comes out to bat.

The visitors have made 25 for one after four overs.

20:08

The news is Chris Gayle won't open today.

Tillekeratne Dilshan and Virat Kohli to open the batting for Bangalore and Ajit Chandila win start the proceedings for the home team. Five runs come off the opening over.

Pankaj Singh to share the new ball. A misfield by Chandila off the second ball helps Kohli gets his first boundary. Three balls later, Kohli gets his second even as 10 come from the over.

Kolkata Knight Riders beat Deccan Chargers by five wickets to keep their winning momentum in the IPL.

Chasing a mediocre 127 to win, Kolkata chased down the total in 19 overs. There was a bit of a hiccup in the middle but Manoj Tiwary ensured that the hosts hand Deccan their fifth loss in the IPL.

Dale Steyn was the most impressive bowler on display for Deccan picking up 2-24 from his four overs.

An inspirational bowling change sees Jacques Kallis walking back to the pavillion for 23.

An outside edge earlier in the over, saw Kallis pick up a boundary off Dale Steyn, but the South African speedster comes back strong with a peach of a outswinger to put the match in the balance.

Deccan have kept themselves in the hunt by picking up wickets at regular intervals.

At the end of 17 overs Kolkata were 107-5
