Irfan Pathan picked up his second five-wicket haul in One-dayers as India romped home with convincing 20-run win over Sri Lanka in the final ODI.

After putting up a stiff total off 295 for victory, Pathan along with Zaheer Khan and Ashok Dinda ensured that Sri Lankans never got the start they were looking for.

Although Jeevan Mendis and Lahiru Thirammane did try their best with fighting half-centuries but couldn't seal the issue for the hosts.

Irfan picked up 5-61, while Zaheer finished with 1-53.

Lahiru Thiramanne looked all set to take Sri Lnaka over the line but failed to do so courtesy of a brilliant fielding from Virat Kohli.

Thiramanne, who had tonked Zaheer for a six and a boundary, struck another delivery on the rise and took off. Jeeven Mendis at the other end, was ball watching as Zaheer lobbed the ball back to Dhoni, who completed the formalities.

Sri Lanka were 204-6 after 36 overs.

Ashok Dinda now gets into the act as he dismisses Dinesh Chandimal for 8.

A back of a length delivery from Dinda, as Chandimal looks to whip it -- misses the ball completly and hits the pads, a loud appeal follows and upmire had no hesitation in raising the finger.

Sri Lanka were 78-3 after 12 overs.

Lahiru Thiramanne and Upul Tharanga have steadied the ship somewhat after Lankans lost Dilshan early in the chase.

Indian pacers have done a good job considering that they wanted to get early breakthroughs.

A brilliant 88 from Gautam Gambhir and a quick fire 58 off 38 balls have powered India to 294-7 in 50 overs.

India were off to a decent start, before losing Ajinkya Rahane. Kohli then put on 48 runs stand to revive the innings. But Rohit Sharma flopped once again for India.

Skipper MS Dhoni used the long handle to good effect to ensure India have a competitive total on board.

Fro Sri Lanka, Malinga was the pick of the bowlers with 3-64.

Lasith Malinga has rocked India with quick couple of wickets.

Malinga first bowled a superb short delivery to get rid of Maoj Tiway, then off the very next ball, got the edge of in form Suresh Raina.

Manoj Tiwary gave a good hand to Gautam Gambhir stitching up a 110 runs partnership.

Gambhir too fell at the wrong moment for India he hit one straight to Malinga for a well-made 88.

India were 219-6. Dhoni is on 12, while Irfan Pathan  is on 3.

Gautam Gambhir slammed third half-century of the series as he is keeping India in the hunt for a big score.

Sri Lankan spinners did manage to put some break on the scoring, but haven't been enitrly successful.

Manoj Tiwary has given Gambhir good company and put on 72 runs stand for the fourth wicket.

At the end of 31 overs India were 159-3. Gambhir is on 75, while Tiwary is on 39.

Nuwan Pradeep leads Sri Lanka's fight back as he castles Rohit Sharma for four.

Rohit's miserable run continues as he was undone by late movement.

India were 87-3 after 17 overs.

Nuwan Pradeep provides the much-needed breakthrough as he removes Virat Kohli for 23.

Pradeep's nipped back a bit catching Kohli on the backfoot and umpire had no issues in raising his finger. A no-ball check, but everybody is happy with it, so Kohli will have to go.

India were 77-2 after 14.2 overs.

Gambhir and Kohli have steadied the Indian innings after Rahane's loss. Gambhir clips one through midwicket for another boundary.

Gambhir then creams one through the off side for a single this time.

At the end of 13 overs India were 71-1. Gambhir is on 38, while Kohli is on 19.

Thisara Perera is making a habit of it -- getting early breakthroughs as the pacer got Indian opener Ajinkya Rahane for 9.

A nice inswinging delivery, as Rahane missed it by a fraction, a loud appeal follows, umpire lifts his finger in affirmation.

India have won the toss and have elected to bat first in the fifth and final one-day international in Palekelle.

India have already pockted the series, while Lankans would be playing for pride.

Surprising to see Angelo Mathews come out to the middle for the toss. Jayawardene gets a well-deserved break as Chamara Kapugedara comes in.

India too have made one change to their side bringing in Ajinkya Rahane in place of Virender Sehwag who is out with a glute problem.
