Another partnership in the middle meant that all New Zealand hopes of getting an early breakthrough went down the drain.

Indians have been slow bt steady as the pacers have created little chances. However, there were two clear cut chances when the visitors could have had seen the back of both the overnight batsmen.

First was a thickish edge from MS Dhoni's bat, which eventually fell short of first slip.

Second one a more geniune chance was the run out opportunity missed, which could cost New Zealand dearly.

The chance came in, off Bracewell's over, when Dhoni played one through the covers and took off. Pujara was late in responding to the call, but luckily for him McCullum fumbled and the centurion was able to make it to the other end.
