Second five wicket haul for R Ashwin as India inch closer to victory in the first Test here at Hyderabad.

 

Ashwin's latest victim, Trent Boult who edged it straight to Virender Sehwag for 0.

 

It just took three balls for Ashwin to wrap up the innings as India registered victory by an innings and 115 runs.

Pragyan Ojha into the act now as he removes Doug Bracewell for one.

 

Ojha had been piling on pressure on the batsman, as he edged one to gully, where Kohli tooh a diving catch. Trouble for New Zealand as India tighten the screws.

 

New Zealand were 151-7. Kruger van Wyk is on 5, while Jeetan Patel is on 2.

Ashwin and Ojha's spin web, coupled with brilliant fielding performance from Team India have put the hosts on top as they head to tea on Day 4.

 

After Brendon McCullum and Kane Williamson raised hopes of New Zealand fight back in the first session, the visitors failed to make much progess, losing five wickets in the post lunch session.

 

Headding to tea, New Zealand were 146-6. Ashwin has picked up 3-50, while Ojha has figures of 2-35.

A carbon copy dismissal to that of first innings as Flynn plonked his leg right in front of the stumps going in for the slog sweep, but missed it.

 

New Zealand would now hope that the lower middle order sticks up for them.

 

At the end of 69 overs New Zealand were 145-5, still 134 runs away.

Pragyan Ojha provides the big wicket of a set Kane Williamson for 52. Willamson who was set at the crease, edged one to Virender Sehwag in the first slip.

 

Kane Williamson was fighting it hard for New Zealand with a half-century.

 

The right hander had reached the landmark with a single off Ashwin to complete his 5th Test fifty.

 

Williamson first put on a 72-runs stand with Brendon McCullum and then now is going strong with Daniel Flynn with a 33-runs stand.

 

At the end of 64 overs New Zealand were 138-4. The visitors still trail by 141 runs.

R Ashiwn now strikes as he castles Ross Taylor for 7.

 

Classic off-spinners dismissal -- Taylor shoulders the ball as the it spins viciously and clips the top of off-stump.

 

Two wickets have fallen in quick succession for New Zealand as they had lost Brendon McCullum couple of pvers ago.

 

New Zealand were 105-3 after 49 overs.

A brilliant century from skipper Unmukt Chand helped India win the under-19 World Cup.

 

Chand scored an unbeaten 111 and Smit Patel was unbeaten on 62 as India beat Australia by six wickets in the final.

 

India, chasing a competitve 226, lost their way in the middle, but an unbeaten 130-run partnership between Chand and Patel ensured that India registered victory with 14 balls to spare and won the Cup for the third time.

 

Mohammed Kaif and Virat Kohli led their respective teams to victory in the 2000 and 2008 editions respectively.

Chand was named man of the match.

Skipper Unmukt Chand is leading the way for India with a brilliant century.

 

Chasing a competitive 226, Unmukt took his time and blasted his way for a maximum which brought his century.

 

India just need six runs from three overs to win their third Under-19 World Cup.

Brendon McCullum and Kane Williamson have dropped the anchor right from the onset and fighting hard in the middle.

 

India started off with spinners upfront but the Kiwi batsmen have given them little chance to work with.

 

New Zealand were 66-1 from 30 overs. Willliamson is on 17, while McCullum is on 27.

 

Meanwhile in Townsville, Unmukt Chand is holding fort for team India as India chase Australia's 225-8.

 

India were 124-4 from 33 overs against the Aussies.

Welcome to the live update of the first Test between India and New Zealand.

 

Well the news from the middle is not that bright as rain continues to play spoilsport. It's still drizzling in Hyderabad and all hopes of an early start have gone down the drain.

 

New Zealand, following on were 41-1 after they were dismissed for 159. Ashwin picked up 6-31 in the first innings along with Pragyan Ojha who snapeed 3-44.

 

Meanwhile in Townsville, Indian colts have restricted Australia to 225. Sandeep Sharma was the hero for India in the bowling with figures of 4-54.
