Pietersen starts the third session with three straight boundaries off Ojha. He the survives a loud appeal off the fifth ball.

However, Ishant strikes for India having Bell (5) caught behind.

A direct hit from Virat Kohli ends Cook's innings. The batsman, in a bid to avoid being hit, actually let the ball hit the stumps.

An unfortunate end to a great innings.

Cook's 377-ball knock was inclusive of 23 hits to the fence and two over it.

Ojha finally provides India the breakthrough, having Trott (87) caught behind.

The left-arm spinner had taken the lone England wicket to fall on the second day as well. He now has 16 wickets in the series.

Trott's 223-ball knock was inclusive of 10 boundaries and he helped his captain put on 173 runs for the second wicket.

Kevin Pietersen comes out to bat.

This partnership is looking ominous for India now and might just take the game away.

There's some lack communication between Cook and Trott about the single and the former almost runs himself out.

Alastair Cook is batting on a magnificent 167 and giving him company is a back-in-form Jonathan Trott on 65.

Cook gets a second reprieve, having been dropped by Pujara (off Zaheer) on day two, when Ishant drops him off his own bowling.
