England 2nd inns: 161-3 (79 ovs)


The fourth day produced another dull and dreary day of Test cricket. 190 runs were scored in the day in 91.5 overs at just above two runs per over, while only four wickets fell in the day.


England score at just over two runs per over to reach 161 for four after 79 overs. With just three session to go on the final day and pitch not offering any kind of help to the bowlers, one can be assured that the match is slowly drifting towards a draw.

They stretched their lead to 165 runs, with seven wickets in hand.

Another hard day for the Indian bowlers as England batted without any real problems.

Trott came up with another good knock to finish unbeaten on 66 from 153 balls, while Bell got some much needed time in the middle to score 24 from 67 balls.

Ojha bowled the most number of overs taking one for 39 in 23 overs, while Ashwin and Jadeja took a wicket each.

A total of 32.2 overs were bowled after tea out of which 14 were maiden overs. England scored 80 runs in the session while losing one wicket.
