The Pakistan captain's 44-ball knock was inclusive of six boundaries and a couple of sixes and he put on 106 runs for the fourth wicket with Shoaib Malik to lay the foundation of the innings.

Ishant has Malik caught by Jadeja but it is a no-ball.

Yuvraj is proving to be an expensive proposition today, Hafeez smashes him for a six over long on even as he goes for 11 in his third over, having conceded 10 in the previous.

Malik gets his second six in the next over, straight over the bowler's (Jadeja's) head. Hafeez completes a well-deserved fifty with a six in the same over.

This is turning out to be a great partnership for Pakistan. A single by Malik in the 16th over by Ishant helps the visitors reach the 100-run mark.

Having lost their first three wickets inside the first three overs, Pakistan have since had captain Hafeez and Shoaib Malik combine well for the fourth wicket.

A boundary by the former, off Kohli, followed by a single helps the visitors get past the 50-run mark in the 11th over. In fact, Kohli's first over is the most expensive for India, 13 runs coming off it.

A six by Malik in Yuvraj's next over helps raise the 50-run partnership.

However, Kumar makes a double breakthrough in his second over, having Shehzad (5) caught behind off the second ball before cleaning up Umar Akmal (0) in the sixth. His first spell figures make for an impressive reading: 3-0-6-3.

It is Irfan's first international T20 scalp. He ends with figures of one for 25 on his debut.

MS Dhoni comes out to join Yuvraj. However, he doesn't last long, being bowled by Ajmal. Suresh Raina replaces his captain at the crease and eases the pressure with a boundary.

Umar Gul returns to account for Yuvraj (10), caught by Umar Akmal at deep midwicket to further boost his side's moral.

Ajmal returns to rattle Suresh Raina's (10) stumps and Rohit Sharma (2) is run out of a direct hit as Pakistan strengthen their stranglehold.

Yuvraj Singh comes and launches himself with a six over deep midwicket. A boundary by Kohli off Hafeez helps the home team get past the 100-run mark.

Rahane's 31-ball 42 was inclusive of five boundaries and a six and he put on 77 runs for the opening wicket with Gambhir.

Pakistan won the toss and had no hesitation asking India to bat first in the first T20 International in Bangalore on Tuesday.

"The pitch will have little bit early on for the seamers," reasons Mohammad Hafeez, the Pakistan captain, adding, "We are looking forward to the match."

MS Dhoni, the Indian skipper, admitted he would have also bowled first.

"We were looking to field first also, the dew being one of the factors," he said.

India have made three changes to the squad that lost to England in Mumbai on Saturday, Piyush Chawla, Parwinder Awana and R Ashwin making way for Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ishant Sharma.
