It's been Australia's day as they assumed control of second Test courtesy of a brilliant unbeaten 251 from skipper Michael Clarke and a century from Ricky Ponting as the hosts finish Day 2 at 482-4.

Mike Hussey is giving him company with brilliant 55. Such was the day that Indian's could only manage one wicket in the entire day that of Ricky Ponting, who struck his 40th Test century.

None of the Indian bowlers looked effective as Ishant Sharma was the lone bowler who managed to pick up the wickets.

It's Mike Hussey's turn to crack consecutive half-centuries as Australia are in complete control of the Test match.

Nothing seem to work for MS Dhoni as the bowlers look clueless on a flat deck at SCG.

Hussey reached the landmark with a boundary off Ashwin as Australia swell the lead to 269 runs.

Australia at the end of 111 overs were 460-4. Clarke is on 233, while Hussey is on 51.

Michael Clarke's struck a brilliant double-century to carry Australia to a commanding position in the second Test here at SCG.

He reached the landmark with a double off Zaheer to become the 34th Australia to record a Test double ton.

He came in when Australia were reeling at 37-3 and stitched up a record 288 runs stand with Ricky Ponting to revive Australia from a precarious position.

Courtsey of his double ton, Australia have extended the lead to 213 runs, with Mike Hussey giving him good company on 26.

Michael Clarke continues to dominate a listless Indian bowling attack as he closes-in on a double century on Day 2.

Skipper is leading from the front as he is going strong on 186 as Australia swell their lead to 183 runs.

However Ishant Sharma did have a chance to dismiss Clarke had he held onto a difficult chance off his own bowling when Clarke was on 182.

At the end of 92 overs, Australia were 373-4.

Ishant Sharma finally provides the breakthrough as he removes Ricky Ponting for 134.

Extra bounce did Ponting in as he slices the ball straight to Sachin Tendulkar as the batsman walks back to a standing ovation.

The Clarke-Ponting duo put on a impressive 288 runs stand for the fourth wicket to take the game away from Indians.

Australia were 337-4, with an over all lead of 150 runs.

It's been all Australia on Day 2 of the Test as Indian bowlers have failed to make any impact on Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke.

Clarke meanwhile comepletes his 150-run mark with a single to midwicket off Sehwag.

The Ponting-Clarke duo have put on a record 285 runs for the fourth wicket as Australia lead by 132 runs.

Australia at the end of 81 overs were 323-3.

Ricky Ponting slammed a brilliant century -- 40th over all -- to put Australia in cruise control.

Ponting reached the landmark after lunch as he took a quick single off Ishant Sharma.

Earlier Clarke had hit a century to completly deflate Indians. The duo has put on 213 runs stand for the fourth wicket as Australia stretch their lead to 59 runs.

Superb centuries from skipper Michael Clarke and Ricky Ponting have given Australia a healthy 45-run lead after their bowlers bundled India out for 191.

As Australia head for Lunch, the hosts were 234-3.

The duo has added 199 runs for the fourth wicket to virutally deflate all the Indian bolwers as the hosts scored 120 runs in the morning session at a healthy run-rate of 4.44.

Michael Clarke reached to his 14th century with a boundary off Ishant Sharma, while Ponting is on 97.

Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke have ensured that Indian's don't get the early breakthrough and have put Australia on the front foot on Day 2 of the second Test.

The duo have put on a 147 run stand for the fourth wicket to virtually knock the wind out of the visitors.

None of the Indian bowlers looked penetrative enough as Australia reduce the deficit by just seven runs.

Australia were 184-3 after 43 overs. Ponting is on 78, while Clarke is on 77.

Now Ricky Ponting reaches yet another half-century with a glorious drive through point off Ishant Sharma.

This Ponting's third consecutive half-century and is looking good for more. India on the other hand, had been sedate and haven't looked like making a breakthrough.

Australia were 129-3 after 30 overs. Clarke is on 54, while Ponting is on 50.

Ponting takes a single to give Clarker the strike, who is on 47.

Clarke clips one on the leg side -- juicy ball on the leg side -- three runs, which brings up skipper's half-century.

Australia were 120-3 after 27 overs.

It's an important day for team India as they would be hoping that Zaheer Khan would fire in on all cyclinders to restrict Australia.

Australia ended the Day One on 116-3, still 75 runs away from India's 191. Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke are in the middle with 44 and 47 respectively.

Zaheer Khan picked up all the three wickets and have looked the most dangerous of all the bowlers.
