A boundary off Yadav helps Tharanga complete a well-deserved fifty, his 26th in ODIs. 

Sri Lanka thrash India by nine wickets. 

They reach 139 for one in just under 20 overs. 

Upul Tharanga remains undefeated on 59.

Scorecard:

R Ashwin bowls the second over and gives away six runs. A further 11 runs come off Zaheer's second over after resumption. 

A couple off Ashwin helps Dilshan become the fourth Sri Lanka - after Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene - to score 2, 000 ODI runs against India. 

The home team reach the 100-run mark in the 13th over. It also marks the ninth occasion where these two have put on 100-plus runs for the opening wicket. 

Sri Lanka opt for the batting powerplay in the 16th over. Yadav's first over in the period yields them 11 runs, including two boundaries for Dilshan. 

However, Ashwin provides India the breakthrough in the second, having Dilshan (50) caught behind.

The hosts cruise at 121 for one after 17 overs.

Dilshan hits the first ball to the square leg fence. A whopping 14 runs come off the over. What a start.

Tillekeratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga open the batting for Sri Lanka and it is Zaheer Khan starting proceedings with the ball for India. 

Six runs come off the opening over. Irfan Pathan shares the new ball and gives away three runs first up. 

Zaheer's good second over is spoilt by a last ball boundary by Tharanga, the first for the home side.

Dilshan (on 1) is dropped by Sehwag at first slip in Irfan's second over.

Sri Lanka 18 without loss after four overs.

Scorecard:

Ojha (5) frustrates the Lankan bowlers for some time, putting on 19 for the ninth wicket with Gambhir. However, Mathews ends his resistance in the 33rd over, having him caught behind. 

The visitors take the batting powerplay in the next over. And Malinga strikes with his third ball, having Gambhir (65) caught behind. 

India bowled out for a paltry 138 in just 33.3 overs. 
16:38   Live! Gambhir stands tall, registers 32nd ODI fifty
Scorecard:

R Ashwin (21) hits a few lusty blows, helping his team get past the 100-run mark, before he is run out. Zaheer Khan (2)comes and goes, leg before to Herath for a duck.

Gambhir, meanwhile, proceeds to complete his 32nd ODI fifty, his eighth against Sri Lanka. 

The Delhi batsman has been the lone bright spot in what has otherwise been a shoddy effort from the visitors.

India 115 for eight after 26.2 overs.

Scorecard:

Irfan Pathan comes out to join Gautam Gambhir. 

The bowling powerplay is taken in the 16th over and the first over from malinga yields seven runs for the visitors. 

Udana is back into the attack in the second. He gives away six runs. 

It is in the final over of the bowling powerplay that Malinga gets the home team their sixth wicket, having Irfan Pathan (6) caught by Perera.

India 79 for six after 20 overs. 
15:39   Live! MS Dhoni's dismissal puts India in doldrums
Scorecard:

Dhoni and Gambhir have a tough job to do with not much batting to follow. 

Mathews' second over is a maiden. 

The visitors get past the 50-run mark in the 12th over, courtesy a boundary by their captain. 

However, Dhoni (11) doesn't survive for long either, Mathews having him caught behind. 

India 60 for five after 14.1 overs. 
15:15   Live! Thisara Perera's strikes put India in deep trouble
Scorecard:

Suresh Raina has come out to join Gambhir with India in trouble. 

However, he too fails to stop the rot, being cleaned up by Perera for one. 

It's Perera third strike of the innings. 

India in doldrums at 41 for four after eight overs. 

Captain MS Dhoni comes out to bat earlier than expected.

Scorecard:

Virat Kohli comes in to replace Sehwag. However, he doesn't survive for long. 

Perera strikes for a second time in the third ball of his second of his second over, having Kohli (1) caught behind. 

The batsman isn't too happy with the decision though. Rohit Sharma comes out to join Gambhir.

Angelo Mathews comes in to replace Malinga (3-0-17-0) and strikes fourth ball, Sharma playing onto his stumps even before he caould open his account. 

India in trouble at 39 for three after seven overs. 
14:52   Live! Perera strikes early for Sri Lanka, Sehwag dismissed
Scorecard:

Mahela Jayawardene has been forced to make the first bowling change in the fourth over, thanks to a profligate Udana. Thisara Perera to bowl. 

It is a wicket maiden for Perera. The bowler frustrates Sehwag in the first five balls, forcing the opener to hit it straight back in the sixth. 

India 31 for one after four overs.
14:46   Sehwag, Gambhir get India off to a flier at Hambantota
Scorecard:

Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir open the batting for India and it is Lasith Malinga to start the proceedings for Sri Lanka. 

Seven runs come off the first over. Isuru Udana to share the new ball. Sehwag smashes the fourth ball over point for the first boundary of the innings. 

Two balls later, Sehwag gets a second boundary, past covers on this occasion, as Udana's first over costs his side 16 runs. 

Gambhir joins the party with successive boundaries in Malinga's second over. 

India 31 without loss after three overs.
14:09   India win toss at Hambantota, bat first vs Sri Lanka
India has won the toss and elected to bat first against Sri Lanka in the second ODI at Hambantota on Tuesday. 

The visitors have named an unchanged squad while the home team have been forced to make a change, and injury to Nuwan Kulasekara ensuring Isuru Udana comes in his place. 

India are 1-0 ahead in the five match series.
