Raina finishes the match in style in the next over by Dilshan, hitting the ball over extra cover to the fence.

India reach 255 for four to win by six wickets, with a whopping 46 balls to spare.

Virat Kohli remains undefeated on 128 and Suresh Raina on 58, the duo having put on an undefeated stand of 146 runs (off just 112 balls).

Scorecard:

The visitors reach the 150-run mark in the 32nd over, courtesy a boundary by Kohli off Mendis.

Mahela puts down Raina (on 19) off Pradeep and the resultant single ensures the 50-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Perera's sixth over is an expensive one costing Lanka 15 runs, a six by Kohli helping raise the 100-run stand for the fifth wicket.

A three off Malinga helps Raina reach his 24th ODI fifty, his eighth against Sri Lanka.

In the next ball Kohli reaches his 13th ODI hundred, his fifth against the home team. Two balls later, he is dropped by Pradeep.

India 225 for four after 40 overs.

Scorecard:

Kohli and Raina are combining well here for the visitors.

The two are scoring at a good pace without taking unnecessary risks.

India 138 for four after 30 overs.

Kohli continues his good run of form, a single off Mendis helping him reach his 22nd ODI fifty.

It is his eighth half century against Sri Lanka in the shorter format.

India 127 for four after 28 overs.

India cross the 100-run mark in the 21st over, courtesy three runss off Herath by Tiwary.

Tiwary and Kohli are combining well here for the visitors, having put in a 49-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

However, just when things looked up for India, Mendis provides the home team a much-needed breakthrough, trapping Tiwary (21) plumb in front.

Suresh Raina comes out to join Kohli.

India 111 for four after 24 overs.

Rohit Sharma flops yet again.

The Mumbai batsman is caught on the wrong foot by Nuwan Pradeep. He made just four.

Suresh Raina comes out to join Kohli with India in a spot of bother.

Sehwag (34) and Kohli put on 52 runs, off just 51 balls, for the second wicket before Mathews has the former caught by substitute Senanayeke in the 10th over.

Rohit Sharma comes out to join Kohli.

Virat Kohli has come in to join Sehwag at the fall of Gambhir's wicket. He begins with a boundary off Malinga.

Sehwag continues his assault on Perera, first with a boundary in his second over and then two more in his third.

India 40 for one after seven overs.

Lasith Malinga has ensured Sri Lanka a spectacular start here in Colombo.

The speedster cleaned up Gautam Gambhir for a duck in the fifth ball of the opening over.

Virender Sehwag albeit eases the pressure a bit with successive boundaries off Thisara Perera's opening over, the second of the innings.

India 14 for one after three overs.

Scorecard:

Tiwary strikes twice in his eighth over, accounting for both Ajantha Mendis (17) and Thisara Perera (2). The part-time leg-spinner ends with figures of four for 61, his analysis somewhat soiled by the last over which costs his team 18 runs.

Ashwin also gets a second wicket, cleaning up Thirimanne (47) to finish with figures of two for 46.

Sri Lanka has been restricted to 251 for eight by the visitors. To their credit Rangana Herath (17 not out) and Lasith Malinga (15 not out) added 32 runs in the final three overs to give the total a semblance of respectability.

A poor show by the home team after such a wonderful stand for the opening wicket. India should have it easy from here on.

Scorecard:

Thirimanne and Angelo Mathews (14) put on 35 runs for the fifth wicket before Tiwary strikes for a second time, having the latter caught by Kohli at long-off.

Tiwary, who was included in place of Rahul Sharma, has delivered with the ball.

Sri Lanka 205 for five after 44 overs.

Sehwag is unlucky in his second over as Kohli puts down a simple chance at short extra cover, Thirimanne (on 16) being the beneficiary.

Manoj Tiwary is handed the ball in the 32nd over and he strikes fourth ball, having Chandimal (28) caught by Pathan at square leg.

Chandimal's quick innings comes to an end immediately after he had helped Thirimanne put up 50 runs for the third wicket.

It's a double breakthrough for India as Sehwag has Jayawardene (3) stumped three balls later.

Sri Lanka 156 for four after 33 overs.

Scorecard:

Ashwin strikes in the first ball of his third over, having Tharanga (51) stumped.

Dinesh Chandimal comes out to bat and starts with a boundary each of Dinda and Pathan.

Virender Sehwag comes out to bowl in the 27th over. He concedes seven runs in his first over.

Sri Lanka 134 for two after 28 overs.

Scorecard:

Lahiru Thirimanne has come out to join Tharanga.

Ashwin, who went for nine in his first over, changes ends. Six runs come from his second over.

Tharanga completes his 27th ODI fifty with a single off Dinda. It is his fifth half century against India. The single also helps the home team reach the 100-run mark.

Sri Lanka 102 for one after 21 overs.

Scorecard:

Dinda, who was pretty tight in his first two overs, is guilty of bowling short in his third. Tharanga pulls the third ball for a maximum over the square-leg fence, the first of the Sri Lankan innings.

Khan is brought back in the 16th over and his second over thereafter costs India 13 runs.

However, Dinda provides India a much needed breakthrough, having Dilshan (42) caught by Dhoni. The batsman went for a pull and only managed to get a top edge.

Sri Lanka 92 for one after 19 overs.

Scorecard:

Zaheer and Irfan have so far bowled well, not allowing the Lankan openers any free runs. However, they have failed to provide the visitors an early breakthrough.

This has prompted MS Dhoni to make the first bowling change in the ninth over, bring in Ashok Dinda to replace Zaheer (4-0-18-0). Dilshan spoils an otherwise good opening over from Dinda by smashing the fifth ball past cover for his sixth boundary.

Tharanga gets his first boundary in the 10th over of the innings, hitting Pathan past extra cover. Dhoni's frustration at the failure to find a breakthrough is evident when he replaces Pathan ((5-0-22-0) with Virat Kohli in the 12th over. the home team reach the 50-run mark in the over.

Sri Lanka 52 without loss after 12 overs.

Scorecard:

Dilshan continues his aggression with his third boundary, this time past backward point in Zaheer's second over.

Zaheer's third over is a good one though, just one run coming off it apart from a couple of wides.

Dilshan gets his fourth boundary, over cover, in the final ball off Pathan's third over. And his fifth in the final ball of Zaheer's fourth.

Sri Lanka 32 without loss after seven overs.

Scorecard:

Zaheer Khan opens the bowling for India and it will be Tillekeratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga first up for Sri Lanka.

Dilshan smashes the second delivery through cover for the first boundary of the innings. Six runs come off the first over.

Irfan Pathan to share the new ball. Dilshan hits the third ball to the fine leg fence.

Sri Lanka 11 without loss after two overs.

The bad news for the home team is of course the fact that Kumar Sangakkara isn't playing.

Lahiru Thirimanne comes in to take his place. Sri Lanka have also included Nuwan Pradeep in place of Udana.

Meanwhile, both Rohit Sharma and Manoj Tiwary are playing for India, meaning Rahul Sharma has been left out of the squad.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first in the fourth one-dayer against India at the R Premadasa Stadium on Tuesday.

"We just need to focus on what we need to do," reasons captain Mahela Jayawardene.

MS Dhoni didn't seem too perturbed with the toss loss.
