BANGLADESH BEAT INDIA BY FIVE WICKETS

Bangladesh 288-5 (48.5 overs); Target: 290

Bangladesh need two runs from the final over for victory. Rahim hits a full toss from Dinda through the off-side but Kohli brings up a diving stop at covers to stop a four but gives a single as the scores are level.

Mahmudullah drives the next ball through the covers for a four to win the match for Bangladesh.

What a big upset by the hosts!

Bangladesh reach 293 for five in 49.2 overs to win by five wickets with four balls remaining.

They spoil the day for Indians, who were earlier rejoicing after Tendulkar had scored his 100th international century.

Captain Rahim remains unbeaten at the end with 46 from 25 balls as Bangladesh pull off a great upset in front of their home fans.

Poor bowling from India in the final overs. Dinda was hit for 38 from 5.2 overs, Pathan gave 61 in nine overs, while Jadeja conceded 32 runs in six overs.

WICKET!!! Bangladesh 288-5 (48.5 overs); Target: 290

N Hossain c Raina b Kumar 54 (58b, 5x4)

Praveen starts with a horror delivery. A full toss above the waist level which Rahim lifts over the off-side for a four and it is also ruled as a no-ball. He lofts the next ball over the long-on fence for a huge six, needing five from 11 balls.

The Bangladesh players are all pumped up in the dressing room.

Three more singles for the hosts before Hossain fails to middle a full toss and is caught on the off-side for a good knock of 54 from 58 balls.

21:08
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 274-4 (48 overs); Target: 290

Pathan starts with a yorker on the off-stumps and Hossain can only get a single. The next ball is wide outside the off-stump and Rahim chips the next ball over midwicket for a six as Pathan misses the yorker.

Pathan goes round the wicket but the result is the same. Rahim is quick to shuffle across the stumps and thumps a full toss over midwicket for another six.

Captain Dhoni is not happy and has a long chat with Pathan, who seems to be wilting under the pressure. Hossain gets two runs off the final ball of that over as they duo bring up the 50-run partnership for the fifth wicket from just 36 balls. Much to India's relief, Hossain misses the final ball of that over as he tries a wild swing over the off-side.

Rahim has raced to 33 from 20 balls, while Hossain has made 53 from 56 balls.

21:00
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 257-4 (47 overs); Target: 290

Praveen now into the attack as Dhoni and Gambhir have a long chat with him. India make a change in the field as four fielders are placed inside the circle on the off-side. Praveen needs to be accurate with his line and length else it will be an easy boundary for Bangladesh.

Three singles from the first three balls before a yorker from Praveen cramps Hossain for room, who is looking to hit it through the off-side. The next ball Praveen bowls another good yorker outside the off-stump which the batsman misses and just a single off the last ball.

Hossain brings up his fifty off the last ball of that over, from 53 balls.
20:54
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 253-4 (46 overs); Target: 290

Pathan is back for a new spell as the match is heading for a thrilling finish. Pathan starts with a dot ball before Rahim pulls the next ball for two runs on the leg side.

The two batsmen had a close shave as Rahim sent Hossain back just in time as they tried to take two runs. Rahim then slog swept Pathan on the leg side for a boundary as Bangladesh got nine runs from that over.

20:48
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 244-4 (45 overs); Target: 290

Bangladesh's hopes now rest on Hossain, who has hit 46 from 45 balls. Captain Rahim is also a capable batsman and they must be fancying their chances with 54 needed from six overs.

Three runs from the first four balls from Jadeja before Rahim chips it over the covers for a boundary as eight runs come from that over. 244-4 (45)

Bangladesh now need 46 from 30 balls.
20:45
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 236-4 (44 overs); Target: 290

Dhoni immediately brings in Jadeja into the attack, hoping to get some overs before the new batsman can get his eye in, with Bangladesh needing 66 from eight overs.

Mushfiqur Rahim defends two balls of Jadeja's over before a leg bye gets him off strike. Hossain thumps Jadeja through midwicket for a much needed boundary, but Jadeja ends up with a good over conceding just five runs. 230-4 (43)

Ashwin also comes up with a tidy over as just six singles come from it to take Bangladesh to 236 for four in 44 overs.
20:40
- Live scorecard

WICKET!!! Bangladesh 224-4 (41.5 overs); Target: 290

Shakib Al Hasan st Dhoni b Ashwin 49 (31b, 5x4, 2x6)

Pathan bringing all his experience into play as he mixes his pace well and bowls a good full length. The first three balls get just two runs for Bangladesh before Shakib pulls a short ball behind square on the leg side for a four.

Two balls later Irfan drops one short and Shakib is equal to the task as he cuts it over point for another four.

10 runs from that Pathan over and slowly but steadily Bangladesh are getting back. India won't be feeling comfortable at the moment as the hosts need 72 from 54 balls.

Shakib has raced to 48 from 29 balls as India's bowling is getting exposed here. Hossain swipes Ashwin on the leg side and Praveen runs across at midwicket to keep them down to two runs.

Shakib is beaten by a big turning delivery from Ashwin as Dhoni comes up with a quick stumping. It has been referred to the third umpire who after a few replays rules in favour of the bowler. Shakib, who made a quick 49 from 31 balls, was a touch unlucky as replays show some part of his foot was behind the crease. Anyways there is too much of doubt and the batsman deserved that benefit.
20:36
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 208-3 (40 overs); Target: 290

Shakib is playing a superb cameo here. He smacks a short ball from Ashwin through the covers for a boundary to race to 26 from 16 balls and keep his team in the contest.

Hossain has gone quiet after a quick start and he is just playing the singles at the moment. Eight runs from that over from Ashwin as Bangladesh reach 192 for three in 38 overs, needing 98 from 12 overs for victory. 192-3 (38)

India need not worry at the moment but if Shakib stays for another few overs, he will cause some problems for the visitors.

Pathan replaces Dinda, who was hit for 18 in his previous over. Shakib walks down the wicket to Pathan and can hit the high full toss to thirdman for only a single. Hossains cuts the next ball and a diving effort from the point fielder stops a certain boundary and keeps the batsmen down to a single.

Hossain chips down the track and once again the high full toss from Pathan gets Bangladesh only a single. Just five runs from that Pathan as he looks to keep it full and straight. 197-3 (39)

Shakib is single-handedly leading Bangladesh's hopes. Ashwin drops it short as Shakib helps himself to another six over square leg in the final over of the Powerplay. The next ball he gets a single to the midwicket region as Sachin Tendulkar cleans up running to his left.

Hossain takes a quick double on the leg side as the duo bring up the 50-run partnership from just 35 balls. Another good over from Bangladesh as they get 11 run from that over to reach 208 for three, needing 82 from the last ten overs for victory.

Bangladesh made good progress in the Batting Powerplay as they hit 46 runs in the five overs to bring themselves back in the contest.

20:36
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 156-3 (35 overs); Target: 290

Former captain Shakib Al Hasan is the new batsman for Bangladesh and he gets off to a shaky start as he gets an inside edge for a single.

There is not much for help for Jadeja, who is just looking to follow the basics and keep it simple. Bangladesh can only get five runs from that over from Shakib as they reach 162 for three in 35 overs and need 128 from the last 15 overs for victory.
20:36
- Live scorecard

WICKET!!! Bangladesh 128-2 (28.5 overs); Target: 290

Jahurul Islam c Rohit b Jadeja 53 (68b, 4x4, 1x6)

Jahurul dances down the wicket and tries a big shot but only manages an inside edge for a single on the leg side. Once again, another good over from Ashwin as he gives just three singles. 120-1 (28)

Ravindra Jadeja replaces Raina, who has good figures of 29 runs in seven overs. Immediately Tamim goes after Jadeja as he reverse sweeps him for a four through the point region. The next ball there is an appeal for stumping against Tamim but the left-hander is safe as the third umpire confirms.

However, Jadeja gets the much needed wicket. Jahurul tried to heave it on the leg side but ends up hitting it straight to Rohit at midwicket to fall after a good knock of 53 from 68 balls.

20:36
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 147-2 (32 overs); Target: 290

Praveen comes into the attack now. New batsman Nasir Hossain shows his intent right away as he cuts Praveen through point for a boundary. But Praveen makes up with good change of pace to keep the batsmen guessing for the rest of the over to give away just seven runs in that over. 135-2 (30)

Bangladesh need 155 runs from 20 overs and if this was a T20 match, you would say Bangladesh are still in the hunt! But run making is not easy on this pitch, which is getting slower.

Tamim sweeps to get a single off Jadeja and then Hossain slogs him over midwicket for a four. 140-2 (31)

Praveen's slower ball beats Tamim, who is struck on the pads but the umpire turns down the LBW appeal. Hossain continues his attacking approach as he lofts Praveen over midwicket for his third four to race to 14 from 12 balls.
20:35
- Live scorecard

WICKET!!! Bangladesh 156-3 (33.5 overs); Target: 290

T Iqbal b Jadeja c Kumar 70 (99b, 6x4)

Jadeja continues to bowl miserly, conceding just singles as Bangladesh search for boundaries. He is bowling it full and flight not giving the batsmen anything to work with. Five singles from that Jadeja over as Bangladesh need 139 runs from 17 overs for victory at more than eight runs per over. 151-2 (33)

Hossain gets another lucky boundary when the thick outside edge off Praveen flies past a diving Dhoni.

But Praveen gets the wicket he deserved when Jadeja came up with a good catch at point to send back Tamim after a steady knock of 70 from 99 balls.

Will that wicket also end Bangladesh's hope of chasing down this huge total?
20:12
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 184-3 (37 overs); Target: 290

Bangladesh take the Batting Powerplay at the start of the 36th over and Ashwin is back in the attack now.

Strangely, Bangladesh looking to collect the singles against Ashwin despite the fielding restrictions in place. They get just four singles from that over from Ashwin as India continue to tighten their grip on the contest. 166-3 (36)

Dinda back for a new spell. He oversteps with the second ball of that over and gives a free hit. Shakib makes full use of that free hit as he muscles him over midwicket for a four.

The next ball he chips it over the mid-on fielder to get a couple of runs. Ashwin was slow to react, back pedals, stops and eventually cannot judge the catch. A poor effort from Ashwin.

Shakib is targetting the inexperienced Dinda. He clubs him over the midwicket fence for a huge six as Bangladesh try to inch their way back in the match. There is further punishment for Dinda as the thick outside edge flies wide of Dhoni for another four. Bangladesh get 18 runs from that Dinda over as they reach 184 for three in 37 overs, needing 106 runs from 13 overs for victory.
19:30
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 117-1 (27 overs); Target: 290

Tamim hits it through the point region for a single to bring up his half-century, from 77 balls, his second fifty in a row. The left-hander ends that over in style as he gives himself room and lofts Ashwin over the covers for a four. 111-1 (26)

Bangladesh need more boundaries to give themselves any hopes of making a contest out of this.

In the next over, Jahurul completes his half-century, from 64 balls, with a single on the leg side off Raina. The hosts take six singles from that Raina as they look to finally make a move along but it is boundaries that they need at the moment. India won't mind giving away the singles with an asking run rate of more than 7.5 runs per over.
19:23
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 105-1 (25 overs); Target: 290

The two-off spinners are doing a good job in tandem. Raina gives away just three runs in his fifth over and has now given away just 16 runs in five overs. Ashwin also follows that up with another tight over, to concede two runs.

Jahurul finally breaks the shackles as he cuts Raina through the point region for a four. Bangladesh get eight runs from that over to take their total past the 100-run mark.

At the halfway mark, Bangladesh are 105 for one, and need another 185 runs from the remaining 25 overs for victory.
19:21
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 92-1 (22 overs); Target: 290

With the Bowling Powerplay out of the way, Raina is brought back and he starts off with a maiden over, to Tamim. Strange to understand Bangladesh's tactics as they are not looking to make a match out of this!

All their fans in the stadium and everywhere else would want Bangladeshi batsmen bow out with a fight and not give up so early in the contest. For now, the hosts are content to bide their time out in the middle.

Jahurul is gifted an easy boundary by Ashwin as he bowls one on the pads which the right-hander sweeps away from the fine leg fielder. Four more singles in that over as Bangladesh get eight runs from Ashwin's second over. 92-1 (22)

19:09
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 84-1 (20 overs); Target: 290

Jahurul is beaten by that delivery from Pathan as the ball holds it's line with the batsman expecting it to swing in. He pulls the next ball to get a single and Tamim hits it down the ground for another run. Just three runs from that Pathan over as Bangladesh reach 82 for one in 19 overs.

Finally, Ashwin is brought into the attack and he makes a tidy start. Both the batsmen take a single each off the first two balls before Jahurul plays four dot balls to complete the over.

18:58
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 79-1 (18 overs); Target: 290

Pathan takes over from the other end as India bring back their regular bowlers for the Powerplay. It's a tidy over from Pathan as he uses variation of pace quite clearly to give away just two runs, keeping Jahurul glued to one end for four balls, including a bouncer, which surprises the batsman. 71-1 (17)

Still no signs of off-spinner R Ashwin as Dinda continues. Tamim pulls a short ball from Dinda through midwicket to get a boundary off the third ball of that over. Bangladesh get eight runs from that over from Dinda as the scoreboard finally starts to get going.

18:47
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 69-1 (16 overs); Target: 290

Raina bowling from round the wicket to both the batsmen now. Jahuru and Tamim not take two singles each for four runs from that over. The two batsmen also bring up the 50-run partnership from 62 balls for the second wicket.

And India take the Bowling Powerplay at the start of the 16th over and Dinda is back in the attack. Tamim tries a forceful shot off the first ball but hits it straight to the midwicket fielder. He hit another good drive on the off-side straight to the sweeper cover for a single.

Dinda then hits Jahurul on his arm with a quick bouncer as the batsman misses his pull shot.
18:40
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 61-1 (14 overs); Target: 290

Dhoni springs a surprise here by bringing in part-timer Suresh Raina into the attack. Raina starts with a full toss which Tamim hits down the ground for a single. Jahurul plays the paddle sweep to fine leg to get a couple as just five runs come from Raina's first over. 43-1 (11)

Rohit Sharma is also brought into the attack as Dhoni experiments with part-timers. But Bangladesh not willing to take risks even against the part-timers as Rohit concedes just three in his first over. 46-1 (12)

India content to let Bangladesh play out the overs without much of a damage as both Raina and Rohit are contributing useful overs with the ball. Raina gives just five runs in his second over as the game continues to drift away from them. 51-1 (13)

Tamim takes a single off Rohit's first ball before Jahuru breaks the shackles. He jumps down the track to Rohit and lofts him over long-on for a six. 10 runs from that over from Rohit as Bangladesh finally decide to take charge.
18:28
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 38-1 (10 overs); Target: 290

Ashoke Dinda is introduced into the attack after just three overs from Pathan, during which he gave away 15 runs.

Dinda is right on the spot with the first ball, making the batsman defend on the front foot. The Bengal pacer forced his way into the Indian team with good performances in domestic cricket.

And he was bang on target in the very first over, starting with a maiden over to Jahirul, in his comeback match for India. That was a confident start by Dinda.

Tamim flicks Praveen on the leg side to get three runs Jahurul smashed the next ball through midwicket for a four. The right-hander then played Praveen fine to get another couple of runs as the pacer bowled it short and little bit slower. Bangladesh get nine runs from that over from Praveen.

Dinda bowls a beauty to Tamim as the ball moves away a bit, forcing the batsman to dab at it and just misses the outside edge. He gets a run off the fourth ball he faces with a single on the leg side. Dinda then fires a quick bouncer at Jahurul, who lofts the next ball over mid-off for a boundary.

Bangladesh 24-1 (7 overs); Target: 290

Jahirul Islam is the new batsman for Bangladesh, who are struggling to get going and that early wicket will not help their cause either.

Tamim is patient at the moment and is looking to play himself in. He plays the perfect straight drive to an overpitched delivery from Pathan to send it down the ground for a four, his second. Positive footwork from Tamim and he is looking quite good at the moment. 20-1 (6)

Tamim plays another cracking drive down the ground, but it hits his partner Jahirul at the non-striker's end. That looked a certain boundary and Tamim was unlucky that it didn't go for a four. Praveen mixing his pace here and keepin the batsman guessing. The first five balls are dot balls before Tamim clips one on the leg side for a four to ruin a good over.

18:06
- Live scorecard

WICKET!!! Bangladesh 15-1 (4.4 overs); Target: 290

Nazimuddin c Sharma b Praveen 5 (15b)

Nazimuddin gets a single off the second ball of Pathan's over as Raina misfields on the off-side. Pathan nearly gets one through the defences as Tamim is beaten by the late swing from Pathan as the ball darts in sharply only to take the inside edge for a single. Nazimuddin also benefits from an inside edge to get another single. 14-0 (4)

Tamim takes a single off the first ball of Praveen's new over. Nazimuddin hits the next two balls straight to fielders before throwing his wicket off the next ball.

He tried to heave one on the leg side but gets a top edge which is taken by Rohit on the off-side as India get their first wicket.

Bangladesh 10-0 (3 overs); Target: 290

Irfan Pathan to bowl the second over and the ball swings a bit as the batsman lets it go to the wicketkeeper, while Tamim plays and misses the next ball.

Tamim then takes a single off the next ball and Nazimuddin does the same a couple of balls later. Tamim ends the over in some style as he smashes a wide ball from Pathan through the covers to send the crowd into raptures.

A huge appeal for LBW against Nazimuddin off the first ball of Praveen's next over. He pins him down to that end for the next four balls before a single off a thick outside edge. Tamim tries to find the gap through the covers off the final ball of that over but sharp at extra cover by Raina stops a certain boundary.
17:49
- Live scorecard

Bangladesh 3-0 (1 overs)

Tamim Iqbal off the mark in streaky fashion as he looks to leave an outgoing delivery from Praveen Kumar but gets a thick outside edge to the thirdman region for a single. Nazimuddin is also off the mark off the first ball he faces with a single. Another thick edge off the final ball of that over gives Tamim another single to end the over.

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan on Twitter continues the Tendulkar tributes: "T 685 - India breathes normally ..!! Sachin completes an incredible feat !! A hundred 100's .. Never done before, perhaps never after !!!"

A direct hit would have been interesting then and he tries it next ball but again a dot ball. He gets a single finally off the next ball in the covers to move into the 90s. Raina ends the over as he hits one through the midwicket region. 195-2 (39)

Kohli b Razzak 66 (82b, 5x4)

Razzak brought into the attack as India take the Batting Powerplay. Will Tendulkar complete the century in singles or take some risks in the Powerplay?

Kohli cuts a short ball from Razzak past the point to get a couple of runs and then gets a single off the next. Tendulkar gets a single off a leg bye as he tries to play the sweep.

But Bangladesh make the breakthrough in the very first over of Powerplay. Kohli is bowled off an inside edge for 66. He tried to drive it through the off-side but only got an inside edge which hit his leg stump.

Suresh Raina is the new batsman ahead of MS Dhoni. Perhaps he will look to attack the bowlers in the Powerplay.

India 169-1 (35 ovs)

Interestingly, India's run rate has fallen as Tendulkar closes in on his century. They have scored just 15 runs from the last five overs. They will look to break the shackles once the Batting Powerplay comes into effect.

Kohli also has a good chance to complete a hat-trick of century in ODIs.

Meanwhile the judge at the Lalit Modi-Chris Cairns hearing in London is late for the hearing. "The judge is late. He's a cricket fan apparently. Perhaps he is waiting for Sachin along with a billion other people," writes Daily Telegraph's reporter Nick Hoult on Twitter.

India 169-1 (35 ovs)

Tendulkar starts to feel the pressure now. He plays out a maiden over from Mortaza. That has been his problem recently as soon as he comes to the century mark, he seems to withdrawn into a shell and goes ultra defensive.

Shahadat continues Bangladesh's tactics of peppering Kohli with bouncers. He tried to pull the first two balls of that over but hits it straight to midwicket. Kohli then top edged the next ball but it falls short of the square leg fielder for a single, the first run after 11 dot balls.

Tendulkar then whipped one through midwicket to get a boundary and move to 87, just 13 short of the magical century.

Kohli completes his half-century, off 63 balls, with a single off Mahmudullah in the next over. There is no stopping India at the moment as singles are coming at will. Tendulkar is on 77, just 23 short of the 100-run mark.

India 125-1 (25 ovs)

Given how easily Tendulkar and Kohli are getting their runs, India look set to post a huge total. Bangladesh need a wicket or two to stop India's progress or else they will continue to push.

Shakib comes on for another spell. But runs continue to flow off his left-arm spinners. Once again six singles from the over as India progress to 120 for one in 24 overs. Strange tactics from Bangladesh as Mahmudullah was brought on for just one over before he was taken off.

Nasir Hossain continues as Kohli hits him through the covers to get two runs. Another couple of singles in that over as the duo bring up the 100-run partnership in just 115 balls for the second wicket.

At the halfway stage, India are comfortably placed at 125 for one.

India 114-1 (23 ovs)

As expected Bangladesh will unleash their spinners in the middle overs. Off-spinner Mahmudullah brought into the attack now to replace Razzak. Tendulkar picks a single off the second ball while Kohli is beaten off the next ball as it stayed a bit low. Kohli then drove him through the covers to get a couple before a single off the next. 108-1 (22)

The Bangladesh fielders are also not helping their team's cause. Nasir Hossain is the fourth spinner to come into the attack. Kohli punches the first ball of that over on the off-side and a misfield on the ropes gifts him his fourth boundary. A few overs back, we had two left-arm spinners bowling in tandem and now we have off-spinners bowling in tandem.

Six runs from that over as India keep building their total.

This is Tendulkar's first half-century after nine innings and it takes him 63 balls to reach the landmark. His last fifty was against Pakistan in the semi-final of the World Cup last year.

Tendulkar is beaten off the next ball as wicketkeeper Rahim appeals for a stumping but the batsman's feet is back in the crease.

India 73-1 (15 ovs)

Left-arm spinner Razzak bowls his second over. Kohli plays cautiously to the first two balls before driving the third ball down the ground for a single.

Former opener Ramiz Raja says Virat Kohli has a problem with the short ball. He thinks Kohli tries to do a lot more with the short ball and that the youngster needs to practice harder.

Another good over from Razzak as India get just a single in that over. 66-1 (14)

Meanwhile former India opener Aakash Chopra says India missed out a chance to test out their reserve players. "Another opportunity lost...it was the most appropriate time to give Tiwary & Yusuf Pathan a go, for I don't see many changes against Pak," Chopra wrote on Twitter. Is he right?

Preeth Rajan comments: "sachin should retire today if does not score HIS 100th ton today." From all formats or just ODIs?

Shahadat continues to bowl short balls at Kohli who pulls it straight to midwicket and then clips the next ball on the leg side for a single. Shahadat gets the short ball to bounce a bit extra and Tendulkar can only fend it on the leg side for a single. That was a good delivery and took the master by surprise.

Tendulkar then cuts a wide ball from Hossain past the point fielder to get a couple to the thirdman region. The Bangladeshi bowlers are gifting away too many easy boundaries at the moment. This time a half volley on the leg stump for Kohli, who flicks it behind square on the leg side for another four. 59-1 (11)

After Gambhir's wicket, Tendulkar and Kohli have put on 34 runs in 31 balls.

Another left-arm spinner into the attack now as Abdur Razzak is introduced. It is a good start from Razzak as he concedes just two singles in that over. 61-1 (12)

Kohli looks to pull a short ball from Shahadat but doesn't get it off the middle as it drops short off the fielder at midwicket. He hits the same shot off the next ball and gets a single off the next ball as he clips it to the fine leg region.

Shahadat tries another bouncer at Kohli who pulls it to fine leg for a single. That is ruled a no-ball as the pacer overstepped the bowling crease and Tendulkar gets a free-hit. But Tendulkar again fails to make the free hit count as he fails to  get his bat to a full delivery outside the off-stump.

India 39-1 (8 ovs)

Following Gambhir's wicket, another in-form Indian batsman walks out, in the form of Virat Kohli, also the India's vice-captain. A huge appeal against Kohli off the first ball that he faced as he was struck on his back leg with an incoming delivery from Islam. The Hawkeye replays show that the ball struck him in line and would have hit the stumps. Kohli was lucky that there is no DRS in this series, else it would have been ruled in the bowler's favour.

Meanwhile, there is a bowling change as Shahadat Hossain replaces Mortaza, who bowled just three overs in his first spell.

Tendulkar continues his good start as he punches a wide delivery from Hossain through the covers for his fourth boundary. He cuts the next ball to the thirdman region for a single, his first single today off the 24th ball he faced after hitting four fours.

Kohli defends the next ball before clipping the final ball of that over through square leg for his first boundary. 34-1 (7)

Wicket taker Islam continues, in his fourth over now. Tendulkar flicks the second ball but a good diving stop at square leg keeps him down to just a single. Kohli ends the over with another superb shot as he plays the perfect cover drive to get a boundary off Islam.

WICKET!!! India 25-1 (5.5 ovs)

Gambhir b Islam 11 (16b, 1x4)

Gambhir, who hit a century in the last match, will look to continue his recent good run in ODIs. Gautam Gambhir is the leading run-scorer in Ind-Ban ODIs with 584 runs in 11 matches (avg 64.88) with 2 hundreds and 3 fifties, writes Rajneesh Gupta on Twitter.

Once again a short ball, from Islam this time, and Gambhir has no problem despatching it through the off-side for his first four of the innings. He tried another cut shot off the third ball of that over but is beaten by the extra pace and bounce from Islam. The left-hander then clipped the next ball on the leg side for a couple of runs.

Islam made the breakthrough in that over when Gambhir played it back on to his stumps to be bowled for 11.

A vital breakthrough for Bangladesh as Gambhir had been in good run in last few matches. But he was caught on the crease that time as he tried to play away from his body and ended up getting an inside edge.

India 19-0 (5 ovs)

Interestingly, Tendulkar is yet to score an ODI century against Bangladesh.

"Bangladesh is the only Test playing nation against which Tendulkar has not scored a ODI hundred. His highest vs Ban:82* in 2004 Asia Cup," writes Rajneesh Gupta on Twitter.

Gambhir steals another quick single off the second ball of Islam's over. The pacer then bowls a wide down the leg side to Tendulkar. The right-hander is nearly caught by surprise by an incoming delivery from Islam which he somehow manages to play on the leg side as just two runs come from that over.

Gambhir hits the first ball of Mortaza's over straight to the point fielder and then clips the next ball to fine leg for a single. Tendulkar is late on that as he plays it from the crease without much of a footwork. After a confident start, Tendulkar is looking a bit nervous with his footwork but all doubts are dispelled soon as he cuts a short ball from Mortaza which bounces over the point fielder for a four.

Interestingly, the last ball of that over stays low as Tendulkar tries the cut short again but is beaten by the lack of bounce.

India 12-0 (3 ovs)

Shaiful Islam to bowl the second over. Tendulkar has nothing to do with the first two balls which are outside the off-stump but he gets off the mark in some style. The veteran crashes a half volley through the covers for a cracking boundary to get off the mark.

But he is comprehensively beaten off the next ball as Tendulkar tries to flirt with a short of good length delivery that pitches outside the off-stump and moves away a bit. Just a boundary from that over. 6-0 (2)

Gambhir steals a quick single off the first ball of the third over just dropping the ball as Tendulkar responds to his call. The master batsman seems to be in good touch here. The next ball is short and wide and Tendulkar eases it past the short cover fielder for his second four. That was as easy as they come!

No-ball from Mortaza as he oversteps the bowling crease, but Tendulkar cannot make use of the free hit as he misses his intended upper cut.

The lone slips comes out to the midwicket region as Tendulkar plays the last two balls of that over straight to fielders.

Overall, India and Bangladesh have played each other 23 times in ODIs, with India winning 21 of those matches.

Meanwhile, this will be the fifth ODI for Bengal pacer Ashok Dinda. Incidentally, his international appearance was also in the Asia Cup when he played against Sri Lanka in Dambulla, in June 2010.

He made his comeback into the Indian team after a string of consistent performances in domestic, having picked 37 wickets in the 2011-12 Ranji Trophy.

His Bengal team-mate Manoj Tiwary, though continues to be on the sidelines. Tiwary didn't get even a single match in the tri-series in Australia and now he has sat out the first two matches of the Asia Cup.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar in his pitch report says it is a new pitch but there are a lot of footmarks from the fielders in the previous games. There will be a little bit of turn for the spinners because of those footmarks. So Bangladesh will hold a bit of advantage over India, who have few spinners in their team.

Team winning first will look to bat first and score 250 plus.

13:10
Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim is hoping his pacers can pick a few early wickets and put pressure on India.

"If we take some early wickets, we can put pressure on them," says Rahim.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, as always, is unfazed at losing the toss, but thinks the pitch becomes slightly better for batting in the second half. "In the second half it becomes a fraction better though it spins a bit."

He also warned his team against taking Bangladesh lightly.

"We have beaten by them a few times since 2004. We never take any side lightly. We need to improve in the bowling department and fielding because we have some fumbles in the field," Dhoni said.

13:07
Bangladesh captain Musfiqur Rahim wins the toss and elects to field against India in the fourth match of the Asia Cup 2012 in Dhaka, on Friday.

Bangladesh are unchanged, while India have made one change. R Vinay Kumar is not fully fit, says captain MS Dhoni and he has been replaced by Ashok Dinda.

It is a do-or-die match for Bangladesh, who were beaten in their first match by Pakistan. If they lose this match, they will be knocked out of the tournament. Meanwhile, India have no such fears after beating Sri Lanka in their first match.
