Morkel has Tiwary (8) caught by Pathan at third man. 

But Yusuf Pathan (7 not out) and Debabrata Das (1 not out) ensure Kolkata an easy win, with eight balls to spare. 

Kolkata beat Delhi by six wickets to replace the latter at the top of the table.

Delhi finally get a second wicket when Umesh Yadav has Kallis (30) caught behind off the first ball of his final over.

The South African's 27-ball knock was inclusive of three boundaries and he put on 60 runs for the second wicket with McCullum. 

Manoj Tiwary comes out to bat. However, Yadav strikes again with his second ball, having McCullum (56) caught by Sehwag at square leg. 

Yusuf Pathan survives the hat-trick ball. 

Kolkata 134 for three after 16 overs.

Scorecard:

A couple off Morkel helps McCullum reach his first fifty of this edition. He celebrates the same with a boundary a couple of balls later.

It hasn't been a convincing knock by any standards but a confidence booster nonetheless. It is his best in this edition. 

Moreover, he has been part of a couple of vital partnerships, 68 runs for the first wicket with Gambhir and now more than 50 runs for the second with Kallis.

Scorecard:

A couple off Morkel helps McCullum reach his first fifty of this edition. He celebrates the same with a boundary a couple of balls later.

Scorecard:

Jacques Kallis comes out to replace his captain. With the asking rate not too much it gives the South African the opportunity to settle down. 

Gambhir's dismissal has expectedly slowed down the scoring rate. But there's no need for KKR to press the panic button as yet. 

Nadeem ends with figures of none for 32. Kallis eases the pressure with a couple of boundaries.

Scorecard:

Umesh Yadav replaces Nadeem (2-0-20-0) in the attack in the sixth over. McCullum helps himself to successive boundaries off the third and fourth balls. 

The first strategic time out is taken after the over with Kolkata coasting at 60 without loss.

Varun Aaron is handed the ball immediately after resumption. He is unfortunate as Yadav puts down Gambhir (on 34) at third man. 

However, Aaron gets his man in the next ball, rattling his stumps.

Kolkata 68 for one after seven overs.

Scorecard:

Morne Morkel to bowl the third over. Gambhir hammers the fourth ball to the fence. 

Nadeem continues and Gambhir hits the first ball to the boundary wide of short fine. The Kolkata captain hits the fifth ball for another boundary, this time over square leg, before dispatching the fifth for a six, straight into the dug out.

Another 13 runs come off Morkel's second over.

21:43   IPL updates: Bowlers help Kolkata restrict Delhi to 153
Scorecard:

Sunil Narine to bowl the final over for Kolkata. He starts with five wides but has Naman Ojha (2) caught by Manoj Tiwari at long on in the first legitimate ball.

Irfan (36) smashes the second ball for a six over wide long-on but is out stumped off the third. The fourth ball witnesses the run out of Morne Morkel (0). Varun Aaron (1) is run out of the last ball. 

So four wickets for Kolkata in the last over as Narine ends with figure with two for 23.

Delhi manage 153 for nine in their stipulated 20 overs. 

Kolkata shouldn't have much problems with this.

21:34   IPL updates: Irfan Pathan fights it out for Delhi
Scorecard:

Brett Lee is back after resumption and Pathan welcomes him with a boundary over backward point. 

Nagar also helps himself to a boundary in the over as Lee goes for 11 runs in that over. However, Lee ends on a high, cleaning up Nagar (10) with a last ball yorker. 

Narine gives away only three runs off his third over. Lee goes for 13 in his final over with Pathan hitting him for two boundaries.

Delhi 141 for five after 19 overs.

Scorecard:

Delhi reach the 100-run mark in the 14th over, courtesy a Taylor single off Bhatia. 

Sangwan finally gets himself a wicket in his last over, having Taylor (16) caught by Rajat Bhatia at long-off. The New Zealander had been fortunate to survive a run out appeal in the previous ball. 

Yogesh Nagar comes out to bat.

Delhi reach the 100-run mark in the 14th over, courtesy a Taylor single off Bhatia. 

Sangwan finally gets himself a wicket in his last over, having Taylor (16) caught by Rajat Bhatia at long-off. The New Zealander had been fortunate to survive a run out appeal in the previous ball. 

Yogesh Nagar comes out to bat.

21:06   IPL updates: Kolkata hit back with Jayawardene's wicket
Scorecard:

Post resumption, Kallis completes an excellent spell, his figures reading 4-0-20-2. Bhatia gives away just five runs in his second over. 

Sangwan replaces Kallis in the attack in the attack in the 12th over. He bowls his best over of the innings, giving away just five runs.

Jayawardene and Taylor are slowly but surely putting on a good little partnership for Delhi for the third wicket, adding 41 runs. However, that is cut short by Gambhir.

Jayawardene is run out for 30. Irfan Pathan comes out to join Taylor.

20:45   IPL updates: Lucky Jayawardene puts Delhi back on track
Scorecard:

Pradeep Sangwan is back to bowl in the seventh over, after Narine has bowled only one. It proves to be a wrong move as 12 runs come off the over. 

Jayawardene (on eight) has a reprieve when McCullum puts down a simple chance, Kallis being the unfortunate bowler. 

Rajat Bhatia replaces Pradeep Sangwan (2-0-29-0) in the attack in the over preceding the first strategic timeout. Jayawardene welcomes him with a boundary first ball through backward point. 

Two balls later, the Sri Lankan goes the distance, over deep backward square.

Delhi 75 for two after nine overs. 
20:30   IPL updates: Kallis' strikes helps Kolkata peg Delhi back
Scorecard:

Sunil Narine replaces Brett Lee (2-1-15-0) in the attack in the fifth over. He has a great start, conceding just two runs first up. 

Kallis strikes again in his second over, having Warner (21) caught behind. Ross Taylor comes out to join Mahela Jayawardene at the crease.

Delhi 50 for two after six overs.

Sangwan, a Delhi boy, doesn't have a good homecoming, going for 17 runs in his opening over. 

Warner frees himself with a six over long-off in the third ball of Brett Lee's second over. The Australian opener, playing in his first match, hits the final ball to the fence as well as Lee goes for 17 off his second, his first being a maiden.

Sangwan expectedly is replaced after an expensive first over, Jacques Kallis coming in to bowl. Sehwag (23) takes six runs off the first two balls but Kallis has the last laugh, having the Delhi captain out leg before.

20:10   IPL updates: Delhi off to an emphatic start vs Kolkata
Scorecard:

David Warner and Kevin Pietersen come out to open the batting for Delhi while it will be Brett Lee starting the proceedings for Kolkata. 

Lee starts with a maiden. Pradeep Sangwan to share the new ball. Sehwag welcomes him with a boundary over extra cover first ball. 

Three balls later, the Delhi captain helps himself to a second boundary while the fifth ball goes the distance.

Delhi 17 without loss after two overs.

Delhi have won two changes to the line up that beat Rajasthan on May 1. David Warner expectedly replaces Kevin Pietersen while Varun Aaron gets his first match, replacing Pawan Negi. 

Kolkata also has two changes Brett Lee and Pradeep Sangwan come in place of Marchant de Lange and Iqbal Abdulla.

Delhi have won two changes to the line up that beat Rajasthan on May 1. David Warner expectedly replaces Kevin Pietersen while Varun Aaron gets his first match, replacing Pawan Negi.

Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to bat first in their Indian Premier League match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Ferozshah Kotla on Monday. 

Virender Sehwag, the captain, says his team can freely now considering their position atop the table.
