23:24   IPL: Chennai thrash Delhi by 86 runs, qualify for final
Scorecard:

Delhi tail doesn't wag either, Jakati (two for 40) and Ashwin (three for 24) wipe it off. 

Delhi are bowled out for 136, Chennai winning by 86 runs to have a shot at a third straight IPL title. 

After Chennai had registered the highest total of this IPL, it was always going to be tough for Delhi. 

It will be Chennai vs Kolkata in the final on Sunday.

A six over long-on helps Jayawardene reach a well-deserved half century. 

However, two balls later the bowler has Russell (17) caught by Bravo at long-on. 

Naman Ojha comes out to bat. He hits a six over long-off off Jakati. However, the bowler has his revenge in the next ball, having Ojha (7) caught by Vijay at long-on in the next ball.

Ashwin deals Delhi a huge ball by cleaning up Jayawardene (55), the Sri Lankan's 38-ball knock comprising of four boundaries and two sixes. 

Delhi 127 for seven after 15 overs.

Jayawardene is playing a good innings here. A boundary past third man is followed by a six over long-on off Morkel. 

Shadab Jakati replaces Hilfenhaus (3-0-17-1) in the attack in the seventh over. Ross Taylor smashes two sixes, both over midwicket, in the over as 16 runs come off the over. 

R Ashwin comes in for Morkel (3-0-28-1) in the eighth over and gives away eight runs first up.

Dwayne Bravo to bowl the final over before the first strategic timeout. The 50-run partnership comes up in the over.

The third wicket stand between these two has provided some stability to the Delhi innings. However, just when things looked to have settled down, Bravo has Taylor (24) caught by Raina at long-on. 

The New Zealander's 14-ball knock was inclusive of a boundary and two sixes and he put on 52 runs (off 28 balls) with Jayawardene for the third wicket. 

Andre Russell walks out to the middle.

Morkel strikes in his second over as well, getting a big wicket. 

The South African has Sehwag (1) caught by Hussey at mid-on. The Delhi captain took six balls for that one run. 

Ross Taylor comes out to join Jayawardene and starts with a first ball boundary. 

Delhi in trouble at 35 for two after five overs.

Hilfenhaus strikes in his second over, having Warner (3) caught by Vijay at mid-off.

Sehwag comes to bat earlier than he would have wanted. 

Delhi 21 for one after three overs.

Ben Hilfenhaus opens the bowling for Chennai while it is David Warner and Mahela Jayawardene first up for Delhi. 

So Virender Sehwag isn't opening, for the first time ever in the IPL.

Six runs come off the first over, with Jayawardene hitting the last ball to the midwicket fence.

Albie Morkel to share the new ball. Jayawardene hits the second and third balls for successive boundaries. 

Delhi 17 without loss after two overs.
21:42   IPL: Vijay's ton helps Chennai to a mammoth 222 for five
Scorecard:

Albie Morkel is dismissed first ball, Yadav having him caught behind. 

Dwayne Bravo comes out to join Vijay. He starts well, with a boundary of Yadav and two off Aaron in the penultimate over, the second helping the home team get past the 200-run mark.

He follows it up with a six over extra cover and another off the last ball as 25 runs come off the over. Aaron ends with woeful figures of two for 63, the most expensive in IPL ever.

Vijay (113) is run out off the last ball of the innings, his 58-ball knock inclusive of 15 boundaries and four sixes.

Bravo remains unbeaten on a 12-ball 33.

Chennai eventually manage a mammoth 222 for five in their stipulated 20 overs. 
21:24   IPL: Vijay's second IPL ton puts Chennai in command

Suresh Raina (27) plays a quick cameo, his 17-ball knock inclusive of three boundaries and a six. He puts on 69 runs for the second wicket with Vijay (off just 33 balls) before skying hitting a Negi delivery straight back to the bowler. 

Negi ends with no so impressive figures of one for 33.

MS Dhoni comes out to join a rampant Vijay. He begins with successive sixes off Gupta. The debutant's third over costs his team 23 runs while Dhoni (on 14) is dropped by Warner at long-on off the last ball.

However, Aaron finally has Dhoni (23) caught by Negi. The Chennai captain's 10-ball knock was inclusive of a boundary and two sixes and he put on 36 runs (off just 17 balls) for the third wicket with Vijay.

Vijay reaches a well-deserved hundred, off just 51 balls, with a couple off Aaron. He becomes the first Indian to score two IPL hundreds. He celebrates the same with successive boundaries.

Chennai 183 for two after 17 overs.

Delhi forced to take a strategic timeout after seven overs. 

Pawan Negi to bowl the first ball after resumption. He gives away only four runs. 

Aaron strikes in the first ball of his second over, having Hussey (20) caught behind. The Australian's 22-ball knock included to boundaries and his first wicket stand with Vijay yielded Chennai 68 runs.

Suresh Raina comes out to join Vijay. He hits the third ball he faces for a boundary.

In the final ball off that Aaron over Vijay hits another boundary, over extra cover, one that helps him reach a well-deserved fifty. The fifty has come off just 28 balls.

Chennai 83 for one after 10 overs. 
20:33   IPL: Hussey, Vijay ensure Chennai a spectacular start
Scorecard:

Andre Russell to bowl the third over, replacing Sunny Gupta (1-0-12-0). Six runs come off the over.

Yadav continues and the first ball is cover driven by Vijay to the fence. Eight runs come off Russell's next over, with Vijay finding the fence again.

Varun Aaron comes in to replace Yadav (2-0-13-0) in the sixth over. His first over is an expensive one, 13 runs coming off it with Vijay helping himself to three boundaries.

Gupta back into the attack in the seventh over, replacing Russell (2-0-14-0). Another expensive over from the newbie, 12 runs coming off it.

20:10   IPL: Chennai off to good start against Delhi at Chepauk
Scorecard:

Sunny Gupta opens the bowling for Delhi while it will be Michael Hussey and Murali Vijay to open the batting for Chennai. 

Vijay smashes the first two balls for successive boundaries as 12 runs come from the over. Umesh Yadav to share the new ball. Seven runs come off the over with Hussey hitting the second ball through cover for four.

19:54   IPL: Twin changes for Delhi; Morkel, Pathan rested

Chennai has gone into the match with the same squad that thrashed Mumbai Indians in Bangalore on Wednesday. 

Delhi have made two changes to their line up though, Andre Russell and Sunny Gupta coming in for Morne Morkel and Irfan Pathan respectively. 

Incidentally, it is Gupta's first ever IPL game.
19:36   IPL updates: Delhi win toss, invite Chennai to bat first
Delhi Daredevils won the toss and put Chennai Super Kings to bat first in the second qualifier in the Indian Premier League at the Chepauk.

"It's good track and hopefully will stay the same. We'll try to restrict them to within 150-160," said Delhi captain Virender Sehwag.

"We were looking to field first as well," admits MS Dhoni.
