Irfan, Waghmode tons revive Baroda

Centuries from Irfan Pathan and Aditya Waghmode helped Baroda fightback from early loss of wickets against Karnataka on day one, in Vadodara.

Baroda were comfortably placed 309 for four in 90 overs at stumps on the opening day.

The duo were involved in an unbroken stand of 221 runs for the fourth wicket for the hosts.

Baroda were struggling at 88 for one at one stage before Pathan smashed 105 from 155 balls, with 12 fours and four sixes, to spearhead their revival.

Waghmode gave him good support with a composed innings of 121 from 262 balls, having hit 16 fours and two sixes.

All-rounder Stuart Binny (2-30) was the top wicket-taker for Karnataka.
