Sachin Tendulkar and Ajinkya Rahane hits centuries as Mumbai dominated the opening day against Railways in the Ranji Trophy match in Mumbai on Friday.

Mumbai 1st inns: 344-4 (90 overs) at stumps

Playing in the Ranji Trophy after a gap of three years, Tendulkar slammed a vintage 137 from 134 balls, hitting as many as 21 fours and three sixes. He was caught at second slip as he tried to play the upper cut off Anureet Singh.

At stumps, Rahane was unbeaten on 105 from 207 balls and Abhishek Nayar yet to score.

Tendulkar put on 200 runs from 251 balls for the fourth wicket with Ajinkya Rahane, who was batting on 104.

During the course of his innings, Tendulkar also completed 4000 runs in Ranji Trophy - in just 34 matches and 51 innings.

Rohit Sharma, who was promoted to No.4 ahead of Tendulkar, failed to make most of the opportunity and was run out for 18.
