Sachin Tendulkar went on the attack to hit a quickfire century for Mumbai to get himself into timely form ahead of the Test matches against England.

Mumbai were sitting pretty at 294 for three in the 79th over against Railways.

Ajinkya Rahane batting on 94 also looked on course to complete a century.

Starting cautiously, Tendulkar changed gears in the post session to bring up his century from 103 balls, hitting 14 fours and three sixes.

Tendulkar sprinted towards his century as hammered left-arm spinner Ashish Yadav for 20 runs in his sixth over. The veteran batsman cut Yadav behind point for a four and then swept him on the leg side for back back fours to race to 82.

Tendulkar then chipped down the track and lofted Yadav over the mid-on fielder for a six before playing the inside out chip for another six to race to 94 the same score as Rahane. Interestingly, Rahane was on 46 when Sachin walked out to bat at no. 5

Tendulkar then flicked Murali Kartik for yet another boundary that took him to 95 before a nudge to fine leg got him a single and his century.
