Alastair Cook is unbeaten on 22 and giving him company is  Kevin Pietersen on 6.

Th visitors are 480 runs behind with seven wickets left.

The strategy of sending a nightwatchman also doesn't work for England as Ojha has Anderson (2) caught by Gambhir at short leg.

England in trouble at 29 for two after 15 overs.

Ashwin provides India the breakthrough, cleaning up Compton (9). It is Ashwin's 50th wicket in his ninth Test, a new record for India.

James Anderson comes out to join his captain.

England 29 for one after 14 overs.

England has to negotiate 18 overs. 

R Ashwin opens the bowling and Alastair Cook and Nick Compton start the proceedings for the visitors. 

Cook helps himself to a couple of boundaries in the over, a cut through point of the first ball and an edge past keeper and slip off the last.

England 14 without loss after two  overs.

India has finally declared at 521 for eight (160 overs). 

Cheteshwar Pujara remained unbeaten on 206, his 389-ball knock was inclusive of 21 fours.

Pragyan Ojha remained unbeaten on a nought.

Kevin Pietersen strikes for England having R Ashwin (23) caught behind. 

Ashwin's 52-ball knock was inclusive of two boundaries and he helped Pujara put on 66 runs for the seventh wickets.

Zaheer Khan (7) doesn't last long, Anderson having caught by Trott at point.

India 519 for eight after 157 overs. 

Kevin Pietersen bowls the first over after tea. Pujara takes a couple off the third ball to come within two  runs of a double hundred. Another single takes him to 199.

Another single in the second over after resumption by James Anderson helps him reach his maiden double ton in Test. 

The young batsman, reputed for scoring doubles in the domestic circuit, achieves the same on a global stage. It takes him 374 balls to reach the milestone.

It is the 41st double hundred for India, only 19 players having ever done so.

India 507 for six after 154 overs.

India, despite losing two wickets, have dominated the post-lunch session as well.

The home team has reached 502 for six after 151 overs.

Cheteshwar Pujara is batting on a magnificent 196 and giving him company is R Ashwin on 21, the two having put on 58 runs for the seventh wicket.

R Ashwin has come out to replace his captain. 

A single by Pujara off Swann helps the hosts reach the 450-run mark in the 139th over.

India 467 for six after 145 overs.

MS Dhoni has come out to replace Yuvraj.

A single off Bresnan helps Pujara complete 150, for the second time in his nascent career.

However, Swann bowls Dhoni (5) round the stumps to pick up his fifth wicket of the innings. 

It is Swann's 14th five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

India 444 for six after 135 overs.

England finally get that elusive wicket when Samit Patel has Yuvraj Singh (74) caught by Graeme Swann.

Yuvi's 151-ball innings was inclusive of six fours and two sixes and helped Pujara put on 130 runs for the fifth wicket.

India 413 for five after 125 overs.

India has completely dominated the morning session. 

At lunch, the hosts have reached 410 for four in 121 overs. 

Cheteshwar Pujara is batting on 133 and giving him company is Yuvraj Singh on 72, the two having put on 127 runs for the fifth wicket so far.

A single by Pujara off Patel helps bring on the 100-run partnership for the fifth wicket. 

Tim Bresnan replaces Anderson in the attack in the 112th over. He concedes just two runs first up. Yuvraj eases the pressure with a massive six off Patel.

A couple by Pujara off the same bowler helps India reach the 400-run mark.

India 400 for four after 117 overs.

England effect the first bowling change in the 10th over of the morning, getting James Anderson in place of Broad (4-0-10-0).

The bowler starts well, conceding just a run, in his first three overs of the day.

Samit Patel is introduced into the attack after the firsst drinks break, replacing Swann (8-3-25-0 on the day). Yuvraj hits a boundary off the fourth ball to complete his 11th Test fifty, his fourth against England.

India 375 for four after 107 overs.

Swann's third over of the day is an expensive one, with both Pujara and Yuvraj helping themselves to a boundary apiece and the latter also going over the ropes.

The over also ensured the 50-run partnership for the fifth wicket. The home team reached the 350-run mark in the 97th over.

It's a maiden over first up. 

Stuart Broad shares the new ball and it is home hero Cheteshwar Pujara facing, two runs short of his second Test ton. The young batsman takes a single of the second ball. 

Another single in Broad's second over helps him reach his second Test hundred, his first in front of his home fans.
