Scorecard:

Narine strikes in his final over, trapping Kitchen (24) plumb in front. 

Kitchen's 15-ball innings comprised of three boundaries and a six and he helped Mahmood put on 41 runs (in 29 balls) for the third wicket. 

Narine finishes with figures of two for 24. But his team's poor batting ensures his effort is not enough.

Auckland 117 for three after 15 overs.

Kitchen eases the pressure further hitting Shakib for a six.

Mahmood further helps the cause with a boundary each of Kallis and Narine, the second helping the Aces get past the 100-run mark.

Narine's third over is an expensive one, 12 runs coming off it with Kitchen also finding the fence.

Auckland 114 for two after 14 overs.

Mahmood hits Balaji for a six but the bowler finally has something to cheer when Guptill (25) hits him straight to Narine at long-on four balls later. 

Guptill's run a ball innings was inclusive of three hits to the fence and he helped Mahmood put on 39 runs for the second wicket. 

Anaru Kitchen comes out to bat. He starts with a boundary to third man.

Auckland 80 for two after 10 overs.

Azhar Mahmood has come out to join Guptill. Vincent's innings was short and sweet.

Jacques Kallis is handed the ball. So it is four bowling changes in four overs for KKR. Kallis concedes just three runs first up. Three runs come off Narine's second over.

Kallis induces an edge off Guptill's (on 9) blade in his second over but Yusuf Pathan puts it down. To add insult to injury the ball goes to the fence and helps Aces reach the 50-run mark.

Auckland 59 for one after eight overs.

23:03   Live CLT20: Narine provides Kolkata the breakthrough

The pounding in the first two overs has forced Gautam Gambhir to introduce Sunil Narine as early as the third over. 

He concedes six runs first up, with Vincent finding the midwicket fence. But the bowler does strike in his first over, having Vincent (30) caught by Tiwari.

Vincent's 12-ball knock was inclusive of three boundaries and two sixes.

Auckland 37 for one after three overs.

Scorecard:

Martin Guptill and Lou Vincent open the batting for Auckland and it will be Lakshmipathy Balaji first up for Kolkata.

KKR have taken a risk by dropping Brett Lee on a wicket like this and Balaji has to more than make up for it. 

Vincent smashes the third ball over the mid-off fielder for a four, the first of the Auckland innings. The fifth ball is also hit for a boundary and the last ball over the long-on fence as 17 runs come off the opening over. Something KKR can ill-afford.

Shakib Al Hasan shares the new ball and Guptill welcomes him with a boundary over cover.

The third ball is hit by Vincent over the midwicket boundary for a six.

Auckland 31 without loss after two overs.

22:38   Live CLT20: Auckland restrict Kolkata to 137 for six
Scorecard:

Mills has Shakib (15) caught by de Grandhomme.

Yusuf Pathan (22 not out) and Rajat Bhatia (nine not out) do little to hasten the pace of an innings, putting on 29 runs for the seventh wicket. 

Kolkata Knight Riders manage just 137 for six in their stipulated 20 overs. Auckland do the a good job in restricting their opponents.

Shakib Al Hasan has come out to join McCullum. With Kolkata pegged back an otherwise expensive Hira gives away only two runs in his third over and six more in his fourth to finish with figures of one for 30.

Andre Adams back into the attack in the 14th over, replacing Mahmood (2-1-7-2) and McCullum welcomes him with a six over deep midwicket.

Mahmood returns to have the dangerous McCullum (40) caught behind for his third wicket. McCullum's 35-ball 40 was inclusive of three boundaries and two sixes and he put on 26 runs for the fifth wicket with Shakib.

Yusuf Pathan comes out to replace him.

Kolkata 98 for five after 15 overs.

21:50   Live CLT20: Quick wickets helps Auckland peg back KKR
Scorecard:

Ronnie Hira into the attack in the seventh over, replacing Mills (3-0-19-0). He goes for 11 in his first over, Bisla finding the fence.

McCullum smashes the first ball of his second over for a maximum. Bisla also gets his second boundary off Hira before the bowler has him caught by Anaru Kitchen at long off.

Bisla's 24-ball 38 was inclusive of six boundaries and a six and he put on 62 runs (in 41 balls) for the second wicket with McCullum.

Azhar Mahmood replaces Adams (2-0-14-0) in the attack in the next over and strikes second ball, having Jacques Kallis (0) caught by Lou Vincent at first slip. The KKR move to play the South African allrounder backfires.

Mahmood strikes again in the next ball, catching Manoj Tiwary (0) off his own bowling. It's a double wicket maiden.

Kolkata 72 for four after 10 overs.

Scorecard:

Brendon McCullum has come out to replace his captain.

He hits successive boundaries off Bates to ease the pressure. 

Mills puts down Bisla (on 16) off his own bowling. A brilliant attempt this.

First bowling change for Auckland. Andre Adams replaces Bates (2-0-15-1) in the attack in the sixth over. He concedes eight runs, including a six to Bisla.

Kolkata 43 for one after six overs.

Scorecard:

Gautam Gambhir and Manvinder Bisla open the batting for Kolkata and it is Kyle Mills first up for Auckland. 

Bisla edges the first ball past slip to the fence. Just six runs from the over. Michael Bates to share the new ball. 

He strikes fifth ball, having Gambhir (5) caught by Guptill.

KKR 11 for one after two overs.

20:33   Live CLT20: Kolkata win toss, bat first vs Auckland
Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bat first in their Champions League T20 match against Auckland Aces in Cape Town on Monday. 

"Batting first seems a good option," reasoned captain Gautam Gambhir.

Half centuries from Neil McKenzie and Quinton de Kock have helped Highveld Lions to register a convincing 8-wickets win over Mumbai Indians.

 

The duo shared an unbeaten 121-run stand off 72 balls to see the South African team home with 7 balls to spare.

 

McKenzie was unbeaten on 68, while De Kock stood tall with 51.
