MATCH CALLED OFF DUE TO RAIN

A big blow for Mumbai Indians as their match against Yorkshire is washed out, forcing them to share two points each.

Having been put in to bat, Mumbai made 156 for six in 17.5 overs before rain played spoilsport for the second day running, in the Champions League.

Mumbai are now third in the points table with just two points from two games behind Sydney Sixers (12) and Lions (8).

Defending champions Mumbai now need to win their remaining two matches and hope the other results in the group go their way for them to make it to the semi-finals.

Sydney have now qualified for the semis, while Lions will also progress from this group if they beat Yorkshire on Saturday.

RAIN STOPS PLAY

Play resumes after a short rain break. Johnson drives the first ball from Rashid to long-on for a single. Pollard then launches Rashid into the stands over long-on for a six and then gets a thick outside edge past the short thirdman fielder for two.

Two more singles before rain intervenes yet again.

Pollard has raced to 37 from 20 balls courtesy of his attacking batting, while Johnson is on five.

The latest from the ground is that it is pouring heavily out there and the chances of the game resuming look very bleak.
