Hilfenhaus will complete his spell as he comes on to bowl the 19th over. Rashid drives the first ball, a full toss, to mid-off for one.
Ballance then despatches a slower delivery over the square leg fence to bring up his fifty in style from just 36 balls.
Two balls later, Ballance punishes Hilfenhaus further as he smashes a short delivery over the cover fence for another six.

He smashes the next ball powerfully on the leg side but it goes to deep midwicket for just a single.

Hilfenhaus is back. Ballance gets one to mid-off before Miller miscues it over the bowler and gets just one.

Ballance heaves it on the leg side but Morkel makes a good stop at midwicket before the left-hander gets a slower ball on the off-side for one.
Dhoni once again loses his control and gives away another wide and Miller picks a single off the next ball.
Another slower ball as Ballance pulls it to midwicket for another single.
A decent over from Dhoni, giving away seven runs, including two wides.

Ashwin comes back, to bowl his fourth and final over. Miller drives the first ball to sweeper cover and Ballance hits a full toss behind point for two runs.
Ballance then tries the slog sweep but the reverse sweep falls short of a diving S Badrinath at short thirdman.
The left-hander then taps it on the leg side for as Ashwin gives six runs in that over.
Yorkshire 82-3 (13 ovs) vs Chennai
Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja replaces Raina, who bowled just one over.
Miller immediately chips down the track and lofts it over the long-off fielder for a six. He then turns it to midwicket to get one.
Yorkshire seem to be targetting Jadeja as Ballance slog sweeps the left-arm spinner over the leg side for a huge six that lands on the roof.
Ballance then strokes it to deep midwicket for one and Miller does the same off the last ball.

Morkel will bowl through and bowl his fourth over on the trot to complete his spell.
Ballance clips the first ball on the leg side for one before Miller drops it on the off-side for one.

Morkel bowls a slower ball which Ballance inside edges and it goes to keeper Saha.

Chennai's captain Suresh Raina brings himself into the attack now. Millers cuts the first ball and is stopped by the point fielder for one.
Ballance then jumps down the track and lofts it over the cover region for a four followed by a single to long-on.
Miller clips it to deep midwicket for two runs before reverse sweeping it past the point fielder for a four.
A good over for Yorkshire as they get 12 runs from that over to break the shackles somewhat.

Miller flicks the first ball of Morkel's third over behind square on the leg side where Dhoni runs around and makes a good stop to keep it down to two and then gets one to thirdman.

Yorkshire are struggling at 51 for three in 10 overs.

Morkel has made a smashing start with the ball, having taken two for three in two overs. Yorkshire were cruising at 35 for no loss in five overs before losing three wickets for eight runs in the space of three overs.
Ashwin is back for a second spell after a lacklustre start with the new ball. Miller hits the first ball to sweeper cover for one and Gary Ballance paddle sweeps the third ball fine on the leg side for a couple.
Ballance is then beaten outside the off-stump as Ashwin gets one to turn sharply. He defends the fifth ball and fails to get away the last ball for a run.

Root strokes the first ball from Morkel to sweeper cover for one and David Millers defends the next ball.

Lyth steers the next ball to thirdman for one to bring new batsman Joe Root on strike, who defends the first ball on the off-side.
Morkel then bowls a beauty to beat Root outside the off-stump as the ball pitches just outside the stumps and straightens a bit. He hits the next ball to the covers before he is beaten again off the last ball of that over.
An excellent start by Morkel, who gives away one run, while getting the first wicket.

Ben Hilfenhaus into the attack, replacing Ashwin. Gale is struck on the pads from the first ball and there is an appeal for LBW but the ball is slipping down the leg side.
Gale then makes room and chips it over the off-side for a six as Yorkshire continue to find the boundaries.
The left-hander tries the shot again but this time it goes off the edge to thirdman for one before Lyth hits it to mid-off, where the fielder stops it.

Bollinger starts his second over with two wides on either side of the wicket, to Gale.
Gale defends the next two deliveries before pulling a short ball over midwicket for a six and then taps it to midwicket for a single.

Dhoni chased that ball and made a diving effort to pull the ball inside the rope but his body touched the rope at the same time.
