SL 5-1 (1 over) vs SA 78-4 (7 ovs)

WICKET: Dilshan run out 0 (0b)

South Africa have a slight upperhand at the halfway after posting a healthy 78 for four in seven overs, at a run rate of 11 runs per over. With pacers of the quality of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel in their side, they would be confident of defending this total.

Mahela Jayawardene and Tillakaratne Dilshan will open the innings as Morne Morkel will bowl the first over.

Jayawardene is struck on the pads from the very first delivery but the LBW appeal is turned down as the ball hits him high on the thighs.

He is beaten off the next ball before he chips the third ball over the point region for a four.

Sri Lanka lose a wicket off the next ball as Dilshan is run out without facing a ball as wicketkeeper de Villiers dives full length to break the stumps.

New man Dilshan Munaweera edges the first ball which flies past first slip and Johan Botha makes a diving stop at thirdman to give away just one.
