And he completes his half-century in some style as he once again slog sweeps the next ball over midwicket for another six.

After a slow start, Nicol has blossomed quite well to complete his fifty from 36 balls, with the help of three fours and three sixes.

He drives the next ball to long-off for one before Taylor cuts it to the point region for one.

Nicol seems to have taken a liking for Mendis as he brings out the slog sweep yet again for the third six of the over.

Mendis tries another variation but misses his radar for a big wide outside the off-stump that gives them an extra run too.

Taylor then taps it down the ground and sprints across for two runs.

Mendis has been hit for 24 runs in that over as NZ are looking comfortable on 133 for two after 15 overs.
