McCullum is keen not to let the young spinner Dananjaya settle down. He chips down the track and lofts him back over his head for a six. McCullum was not fully to the pitch but his power and the breeze carried the ball over the ropes.

He takes a single from the next ball before Nicol defends the next ball back to the bowler.

Dananjaya is bowling all sort of deliveries, the off-spinner, leg-spinner, googly, carrom ball and everything else you can think of.

McCullum is lucky as he charges down the wicket and somehow gets the bat down the ball for an inside edge to the leg side that gets them two more runs.

Two more runs to end the over as NZ reach 80 for one after 10 overs.
