Jaidev Unadkat strikes a big blow as he removes Sangakkara for 16. A BIG blow indeed as Sunrisers needed Sangakkara's presence to guide them to the target.

A back of the length delivery from Undakat, has Sanga playing a false shot -- trying to dab one through the third man area, only to be snapped by Arun Karthik brilliantly behind the stumps.

Sunrisers are digging themselves a big hole here as they were 84-4 after 14 overs.

Mutthiah Muralitharan now into the attack after the strategic time out. How Sunrisers play Murali will decide the game.

But as we speak, Murali castles Reddy to provide the breakthrough. Reddy looking to cut the ball that is too close misses it as the ball crashes onto the off-stump.

Evidence of spin on the wicket for the first time as Murali got sharp turn in the delivery.

At the end of 9 overs, Sunrisers were 52-3. Kumar Sangakkara has just walked in along with Vihari who is on 12.

Akshat Reddy and Hanuma Vihari are slowly but steadily building up a partnership for Sunrisers but dealing in singles.

With the boundaries all dried up and the field all well spread up, both the batsmen are not taking any chances, knowing that there isn't much batting firepower in the Sunrisers team.

At the end of 8th over, Sunrisers were 47-2. Reddy is on 23, while Vihari is on 10.

Mosies Henriques is doing the job with the ball as well as he now removes Cameron White for five.

Henriques, who scored a crucial 44 in the RCB innings, have picked up Parthiv Patel and Cameron White in back to back hopes to give RCB hope of a victory -- though Kumar Sangakkara is still back in the pavillion waiting for his turn.

At the end of 4 overs, Sunrisers were 20-2.

Ishant Sharma into the attack in the 19 over as Henriques tires to lift it over midwicket, but only gets height not the distance and Cameron White is cool as a cucumber to take a simple catch for 44.

Ishant strikes once again removing Vinay Kumar, who is looking to hit it over but can't clear Kumar Sangakkara in covers.

A fantastic last over from the Indian pacer as Sunrisers restrict RCB for 130-8.

Virat Kohli top-scored with 46, along with Mosies Henriques who made 44.

Ishant Sharma was the pick of the bowlers with 3-27.

Mosies Henriques is using the long handle to good effect to provide the much-needed momentum for RCB.

Henriques smashed Dale Steyn over covers for a boundary, then smashed Thissara Perera in the very next over.

However Henriques is not getting any support at the other end losing Arun Karthik and Mayank Aggarwal in quick succession.

At the end of 18 overs RCB were 114-6. Henriques is on 38.

Ashish Reddy has struck a major blow as he removes RCB skipper Virat Kohli for 46.

Kohli was done in by a slower one -- the ball hitting the makers name-- but credit to Reddy who took a diving catch, much to the delight of the bowler.

Mosies Henriques and Virat Kohli have steadied the ship after three early wickets rocked Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Amit Mishra into the attack and he strikes off the first ball!!

A straighter one from Mishra, who had a good game last match, as Karun Nair is not forward enough.

A loud appeal from the bowler and the umpire raises the finger in affirmation.

RCB were 43-3 after 8 overs.

Ishant Sharma comes into the attack, replacing Vihari. Looks like its the end of the night with the ball for him.

Kohli whips one through the legside for a single. Next up the ball hits Dilshan's pads, no appeal from the bowler as batsmen steal a single.

Next up Ishant cleans up Dilshan for five. A superb delivery from the lanky bowler as the ball goes through bat n pad, clipping the top of off-stump.

RCB were 23-2 after 3 overs.

Hanuma Vihari into the attack -- a surprise change from Hyderabad.

And he STRIKES!!!!

Vihari has Chris Gayle walking back to pavillion with just one run to his name. Viahri an off-spinner, pushes the ball as Gayle goes for a cut, but edges it to Parthiv Patel, who was ecstatic taking the catch of the big man.

RCB were 13-1 after 2 overs.

In the first match of the day Kings XI Punjab convincingly beat Pune Warriors by 8 wkts.
19:38

The good news for RCB fans is Chris Gayle is fit to play and should be a keen contest in store vs Dale Steyn.

Both Changes have made one change to their side with Mosies Henriques settling in for Dan Christian.

Scorecard:

Manan Vohra (43 not out) and David Hussey (8) take Kings XI Punjab to a comprehensive eight-wicket win over Pune Warriors India.

This despite Hussey being dismissed by Mitchell Marsh with just one run to get. It was a no ball, signalling yet again how bad Pune had been on the day.

The visitors start their campaign on a winning note, with a whopping 7.4overs to spare.

It is the Pune side's second straight defeat.
18:35
Scorecard:

Rahul Sharma finally provides Pune with a second breakthrough, cleaning up Mandeep Singh (31).

However, it is too late.

Punjab 84 for two after 10 overs.

Pune manage 99 for nine after 20 overs.

Scorecard:

Captain Angelo Mathews comes out to join Ross Taylor. However, he doesn't last long either, a beauty of a delivery from Awana having him caught behind.

Awana ends his spell with impressive figures of one for 16. A couple from Abhishek Nayar off Chawla helps raise the 50-run mark for the home team, in the 13th over.

Praveen is back in the attack replacing Awana and he strikes fourth ball, a spectacular catch by Gurkeerat Singh at fine leg ending Taylor's (15) innings.

Pune 56 for six after 14 overs.

Scorecard:

It's a twin bowling change for Punjab, Parwinder Awana replacing Harris (2-0-5-0). He concedes just three runs first up.

Kumar strikes with his sixth ball, rattling Pandey's timber.

Pune one for one after one over.
