Rohit Sharma will be captaining the Mumbai Indians today. Ricky Ponting, lacking runs, has take the brave decision of dropping himself.

Kolkata wins the toss and opts to bat first.

"We'll put some runs on the board and then try to restrict them," reasoned captain Gautam Gambhir. Sharma, his opposite number, agreed.

"We'd have obviously liked to bat first," he said.

The match has been delayed by half an hour because of rains but no overs has been deducted.
