AB de Villiers comes out to join his captain at the crease.

But with Gayle gone Mumbai are now the favourites.

Bangalore 38 for two after seven overs.
22:33

Malinga's second over is a good one, just three runs coming off it despite Gayle facing four deliveries.

Johnson continues with a third over and bowls a good one, albeit ends up conceding two boundaries to Gayle.

First bowling change for Mumbai comes in the sixth over, Dhaval Kulkarni replacing Maling (2-0-8-0). Playing in his first match this season Dhaval bowls a good first over, eventually having Dilshan (13) caught by Johnson at third man.

Virat Kohli comes out to join Gayle at the crease.

Bangalore 35 for one after six overs.
22:18

Chris Gayle and Tillekeratne Dilshan open the batting for Bangalore and it will be Mitchell Johnson first up for Mumbai. Just five runs off the first over, including a boundary by Dilshan.

Lasith Malinga, three short of 200 t20 wickets, to share the new ball. He also gives away just five, with Dilshan getting another boundary.

However, Gayle cuts loose with a six over midwicket off the first ball of Johnson's second over. He almost gives his wicket away in the third but but is lucky as the ball evades both the slip fielders.

Bangalore 22 without loss after three overs.
21:46

Vinay Kumar (4-0-38-1) despite bowling a good last over ends with poor overall figures.

RP to bowl the penultimate over. It's an expensive one, 16 runs coming off it with Harbhajan hitting three boundaries. RP final figures read 4-0-39-1.

21:35

Vinay Kumar to bowl his final over, the 18th over. A brilliant direct hit by Kohli runs out Dinesh Karthik (43).

Karthik's 33-ball knock comprised of three boundaries and a six and he helped Pollard add 51 runs for the fourth wicket. Ambati Rayudu (0) is also run out by Kohli in the next ball.

21:08

Rampaul replaces an erratic Undakat (3-0-26-0) in the attack in the 12th over. He gives away four runs.

Mohammad continues and in the fifth ball, Karthik is guilty of running out his captain. Rohit Sharma (10) is frustrated with the manner of his dismissal. And rightly so.

Kieron Pollard comes out to bat.

Mumbai 119 for three after 13 overs. Time for the second time-out.
20:58

Unadkat continues and so does Smith, smashing the first ball over midwicket for another six, his third.

He completes his third IPL fifty with a single four balls later. It is his second straight fifty after his effort against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden.

However, he fails to carry on heaving wildly at a Syed Mohammad delivery and seeing his stumps being shattered. Smith's 36-ball 50 was inclusive of four boundaries and three sixes and he helped raise 68 runs (39 balls) for the second wicket with Karthik.

It's a twin bowling change for RCB as R Vinay Kumar replaces RP Singh (2-0-7-1) in the attack in the sixth over. Smith hits his second and the sixth balls to the fence, the second of those shots helping the home team reach the 50-run mark.

Mumbai 52 for one after six overs.
20:19

Tendulkar gets to his knees and smashes the first ball of Rampaul's second over to the fence. A couple of balls later he helps himself to three successive boundaries as 16 runs come off the over.

However, RP strikes with his fourth ball, having Tendulkar (23) out leg before.

Mumbai 29 for one after 3.4 overs.
20:11

Dwayne Smith and Sachin Tendulkar open the batting for Mumbai and it will be Ravi Rampaul first up for Bangalore. Seven runs come off the over, including a lucky boundary for Tendulkar, one that flies off the blade between the 'keeper and the first slip fielder (Gayle).
