Live Cricket! Rahane, Mishra help India seal Zimbabwe series 5-0

Timeline  Refresh

18:32

India: 167-3 (34 overs)
Zimbabwe: 163 (39.5 overs)

Dinesh Karthik comes ahead of Kohli. There's not much left for the captain to do in any case.

A boundary by Karthik, off Waller, helps the visitors get past the 150-run mark.

Ravindra Jadeja (48 not out) Karthik (10 not out) take India home with 16 overs to spare, the former sealing it with a six.

India win by seven wickets to complete a 5-0 whitewash of Zimbabwe.
18:07

India: 127-3 (28 overs)
Zimbabwe: 163 (39.5 overs)

Sean Williams replaces Mutombodzi (5-0-29-0) in the attack in the 27th over. Jadeja welcomes him with a boundary.

A single by Rahane in the over helps the batsman complete his third ODI fifty.

Malcolm Waller replaces Mushangwe (6-0-26-0) in the attack in the next over and strikes second ball, Rahane (50) playing onto his stumps.

Rahane's 66-ball knock was inclusive of four boundaries and a six and he added 71 runs for the third wicket with Jadeja.
17:53

India: 116-2 (25 overs)
Zimbabwe: 163 (39.5 overs)

Rahane and Jadeja are combining well for India, doing what the situation demands.

A single by Rahane off Mutombodzi helps the visitors get to the 100-run mark. Another boundary in the over helps raise the 50-run partnership for the third wicket.

Jadeja albeit has been awfully slow.
17:11

India: 56-2 (12 overs)
Zimbabwe: 163 (39.5 overs)

Just when Shikhar Dhawan (41) looked to be running away with the match, Kyle Jarvis strikes for a second time, having the batsman caught behind.

Dhawan's 38-ball knock was inclusive of six boundaries and a six and he added 55 runs for the second wicket with Rahane.

Now this is interesting. Virat Kohli has decided to drop himself down the order and promote Ravindra Jadeja.
17:00

India: 54-1 (10 overs)
Zimbabwe: 163 (39.5 overs)

In the first over after resumption, Zimbabwe miss an easy run out attempt. Rahane survives.

A single by Dhawan, in the final ball of Jarvis' fifth over, helps raise the 50-run partnership for the second wicket.

India 54 for two after 10 overs.
16:06

India: 43-1 (6 overs)
Zimbabwe: 163 (39.5 overs)

Dhawan eases the pressure with a boundary off Jarvis and three in a Vitori over.

Rahane joins the party with a boundary off Jarvis. In Vitori's third over, Dhawan hits a six over deep midwicket followed by a boundary through cover. He also survives a chance, Taylor putting him down at short fine leg.

India 43 for one at lunch (six overs), with Dhawan unbeaten on a 21-ball 34 and Rahane on seven.
15:51

India: 11-1 (3 overs)
Zimbabwe: 156-9 (39 overs)

Cheteshwar Pujara and Shikhar Dhawan open the batting for India and it will be Kyle Jarvis first up for Zimbabwe.

Jarvis strikes with his fourth ball, getting through the defence of Pujara. It's a second straight failure for Pujara. It's a wicket maiden.

Ajinkya Rahane, playing in his first match of the series, comes out to bat.
15:30

Zimbabwe: 163 (39.5 overs)

In his ninth over, Mishra takes his sixth wicket, having Brian Vitori 94) caught by Kohli.

Mishra's first career five-wicket haul (6-48) gives him 18 wickets for the series, in the process equalling Javagal Srinath's record for most wickets in a bilateral series - Srinath taking 18 scalps in seven matches in New Zealand in 2002-03.

Come to think of it, before this series Mishra had 19 ODI wickets. In this series he has one less.

Zimbabwe has been dismissed for 163 with more than 10 overs left in their innings.
15:22

Zimbabwe: 160-9 (39 overs)

The batting powerplay starts with the home team on 133 for seven. Mishra to bowl. He strikes second ball, having Williams (51) caught by Kohli.

Williams' 65-ball knock was inclusive of six boundaries but he got out at a time when Zimbabwe could ill afford to lose his wicket.

Mishra, the highest wicket taker in the series, gets his fourth of the innings.

Natsai M'shangwe (16) gets into action from the word go, with a six each of Jadeja and Mishra. However, Mishra cleans him up in his eighth over to complete his five-wicket haul.

It is his first career fiver. He has 17 wickets in this series.
15:03

Zimbabwe: 126-7 (34 overs)

Sean Williams has completed his 14th ODI fifty, a good knock this under the circumstances.

Williams and Chigumbura have combined well for Zimbabwe, giving the team the stability it so desperately needed. Their sixth wicket partnership is now worth exactly 50 runs.

But just as we say this, Mishra has had Chigumbura (17) out leg before.

Tinotenda Mutombodzi (4) doesn't survive for long, Mishra having him caught by Raina in the second slip in the same over.
14:34

Zimbabwe: 97-5 (28 overs)

Amit Mishra replaces Shami (4-1-11-1) in the attack in the 23rd over. He strikes first ball, having Malcolm Waller (8) caught by Mohit at mid-on. A very poor ball and even a poorer shot.

Zimbabwe have half their side back in the pavilion with more than their overs left.

Unadkat is back with the ball, replacing Jadeja (6-0-20-1) in the 24th over. He gives away just one run but is taken off immediately after.
14:09

Zimbabwe: 68-4 (20 overs)

After being patient for so long, a momentary lapse of concentration costs Hamilton Masakadza (32) his wicket, the batsman dragging a Jadeja delivery onto his stumps.

Masakadza's 46-ball knock was inclusive of four boundaries but he got out at a time when his team could ill afford to lose his wicket.

Suresh Raina into the attack in the 19th over, replacing Shami (3-1-6-1). Williams welcomes him with a boundary to the deep square leg. In Raina's second over Williams scores a boundary in front of square.
13:36

Zimbabwe: 42-3 (14 overs)

Timycen Maruma has come to replace his captain. The home team is in trouble as expected.

Masakadza puls Mohit to the midwicket fence to ease the pressure a bit. Ravindra Jadeja is the first bowling change for India, replacing Unadkat (5-1-7-1) in the attack in the 12th over.

Mohammad Shami is introduced into the attack in the 13th over, replacing Mohit (6-0-25-1). He strikes with his second ball, having Maruma (4) caught behind. The batsman is disappointed with the decision but has no option but to walk.
13:14

Zimbabwe: 23-2 (9 overs)

Brendan Taylor's poor run of form in the series continues. Te Zimbabwean captain faces 11 balls but fails to open his account, Mohit having him caught by Suresh Raina at second slip.

Zimbabwe 23 for two after nine overs.
12:50

Zimbabwe: 13-1 (4 overs)

Masakadza helps himself to a couple of boundaries in Mohit's second over.

However, Unadkat provides India their opening breakthrough having Sibanda (5) caught behind in the final ball of his second over.

Zimbabwe 13 for one after four overs.
12:39

Zimbabwe: 5-0 (2 overs)

Hamilton Masakadza and Vusimuzi Sibanda open the batting for Zimbabwe and it will be Mohit Sharma first up for India. Just one run off the first over.

Jaidev Unadkat to bowl with the second new ball. Sibanda welcomes him with a sweetly timed boundary.

Zimbabwe five without loss after two overs.
12:07
India captain Virat Kohli has won the toss and elected to bowl against Zimbabwe in the fifth and final One-Day International in Bulawayo, on Saturday.

Ajinkya Rahane finally gets a game as he replaces Ambati Rayudu, while Shikhar Dhawan comes in for fellow opener Rohit Sharma.

Interestingly, Jammu and Kashmir all-rounder Parveez Rasool does not find a place in the team despite India having taken a 4-0 lead series in the five-match rubber.
