Scorecard:

India ended the third day at 515 for eight (after 141 overs), an overall lead of 135 runs. 

MS Dhoni was unbeaten on 206 and giving him company was Bhuvneshwar Kumar on 16, the two having added, 109 runs for the ninth wicket.

Scorecard:

A single by Kumar off Warner helps India get past the 500-run mark. 

A single off Lyon in the neet over made Dhoni the eighth batsman to score a double at Chepauk. 

It was his first double hundred.

India 508 for eight after 138 overs.

Scorecard:

Dhoni and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are frustrating the Aussies now. 

The two have put together more than 50-runs for the ninth wicket now. 

Dhoni, in the process, has registered a Test best, getting past the 150-run mark for a first time and is inching closer to a double.

Now Harbhajan has hit Lyon for a six. 

Another six off Lyon, this time by Dhoni, helps the home team get past the 400-run mark. 

The two put on 34 runs for the eighth wicket before Harbhajan (11) was cleaned up  by Henriques.

India 413 for eight after 120 overs.

Scorecard:

Lyon gives Australia an early success after resumption, rattling Ashwin's (3) stumps. Harbhajan also survives in the over. 

A boundary off Siddle, his 13th, helped Dhoni complete his hundred.

It is the Indian captain's sixth Test century, his first against Australia as well as his first in 15 months, since his 144 against West Indies at the Wankhede stadium in November 2011.

A couple by him in Siddle's next over helps the home team take the lead.

India 382 for seven in 109 overs.
14:04   1st Test Live! Jadeja becomes Pattinson's fourth victim
Scorecard:

Ravindra Jadeja (16) becomes James Pattinson's fourth victim of the innings, all of them bowled. Jadeja didn't even attempt to play at a seemingly innocuous delivery.

The left-hander's 45-ball innings including three boundaries and he helped his captain put on 41 runs for the sixth wicket.

India 365 for six after 103 overs.
13:00   1st Test Live! Lyon strikes again, Kohli out for 107
Scorecard:

Moises Henriques replaces Starc in the attack in the 88th over and Dhoni welcomes him with a pre-meditated six over extra cover. Two balls later, the Indian captain walks down the wicket again to get a boundary towards mid-on. 

Australia though finally get a wicket, Lyon has Kohli (107) caught by Starc at mid-on.

Kohli's 206-ball knock was inclusive of 15 boundaries and a six and he helped his captain put on 128 runs (in 26.1 overs) for the sixth wicket.

India 324 for five after 90 overs. 
12:44   1st Test Live! Kohli hits 4th Test ton, fifty for Dhoni
Scorecard:

Successive boundaries off Starc helps Dhoni complete his 29th Test fifty. He celebrates the same with a third boundary in the over, this only helping raise the 100-run partnership for the fifth wicket. 

A boundary in the next over by Pattinson helps Kohli reach his fourth Test hundred, his second against Australia.

India 303 for four after 87 overs.

Welcome back after lunch. 

Talking about Chennai, Stanislas Wawrinka, a favourite here, has made his first ATP final since winning the Chennai Open in 2011, at the Copa Clara in Buenos Aires. 

It is going to be a tough ask for him though, as he faces the in form David Ferrer in the decider. 

Back to cricket then. Australia have taken the new ball in the 83 over. James Pattinson and Mitchell Starc share it.  

India 280 for four after 84 overs.

Scorecard:

Moises Henriques replaces Nathan Lyon (fourth spell, 6-0-30-1) in the attack in the 74th over and Kohli welcomes him with two boundaries, the second helping raise the 50-run partnership for the fifth wicket. 

It's been a partnership that has come in quick time, just under 11 overs. 

Peter Siddle replaces Pattinson (3-0-10-0) in the attack in the 77th over. 

India reach 263 for four (79 overs) at lunch.

Virat Kohli is unbeaten on 83 and MS Dhoni on 37.

Scorecard:

Tendulkar's early dismissal has left fans disappointed.

Kohli lifts up the spirits a bit with a huge six off Lyon over midwicket. 

He combines well with his captain (Dhoni), the two regaling the crowd with some big hits. 

India 238 for four after 73 overs. 
10:28   1st Test Live! Lyon strikes, Tendulkar dismissed for 81
Scorecard:

Tendulkar and Kohli comfortably negotiate the first spells of both Siddle (4th spell, 4-2-6-0) and Pattinson (3rd spell, 5-2-6-0).

It's a twin bowling change for India with Nathan Lyon replacing Siddle and Mitchell Starc replacing Pattinson in the 62nd and 63rd overs. 

And it is Lyon who strikes first, hitting Tendulkar's (81) stumps. The Master Blaster's 159-ball knock was inclusive of seven hits to the fence and he put 91 runs for the fourth wicket with Kohli. 

MS Dhoni comes out to bat. 

India 200 for four after 64.2 overs.

When Tendulkar takes a single off Pattinson in the 62nd over, it is the first run in five overs. 

India has slowed down the pace considerably.

James Pattinson to start the proceedings. Kohli to face.

He takes a single off the fourth ball. And Tendulkar gets to bat much to the delight of the crowd. 

People had queued up since morning just to watch him score a century.

Peter Siddle shares the new ball. Tendulkar hits a boundary off the last ball.
