1st Test Live! Dogged Henriques takes match to fifth day

A defiant 75 by Moises Henriques has ensured the possibility of a fifth day. 

His 124-ball innings was inclusive of six fours and two sixes, and had put on 57 runs for the final wicket with Nathan Lyon (12).

Australia 232 for nine at close (84 overs), a lead of 40 runs. 

Moises Henriques and Nathan Lyon have ensured India will bat a second time. 

Australia 200 for nine after 74 overs.

Mitchell Starc (8), having hit two boundaries, holes out to Tendulkar, helping Ashwin complete his second fiver of the match. 

Team India one wicket away from winning.

Australia 175 for nine after 66 overs.

Jadeja cleans up Siddle (2) for his second wicket of the innings.

A little later, Ashwin has Pattinson (11) caught by Sehwag at first slip for his fourth wicket of the innings, eighth of the match. 

Australia 161 for eight after 64 overs.

Ashwin strikes in the third ball after resumption, trapping Clarke (31) leg before.

With Clarke's dismissal chance of the match finishing inside four side is all but certain. 

Australia 131 for six after 50 overs.

R Ashwin replaces Jadeja (13-4-32-1) in the attack in the 44th over. However, who provides India with its fifth wicket, cleaning up Matthew Wade (8). 

Australia reach 128 for five at tea (after 49 overs). 

Clarke was batting on 31, and giving him company was Moises Henriques (on five).

Michael Clarke, the Australian captain, has come out to join Warner. It will take a herculean effort from these two if the visitors are to save this match. 

He goes after Ashwin, in the latter's 13th over, first smashing a six over long on and following it up with a boundary. 

Clarke and Warner (23) put up 36 runs for the fourth wicket, taking the visitors past the 100-run mark before the latter was adjudged leg before, giving Harbhajan Singh his first wicket. 

Australia 118 for four after 43 overs. 

Ashwin replaces Harbhajan (5-0-10-0) in the attack in the 27th over.

And he strikes in his second over of the spell, having Cowan (32) out leg before. Excessively appealing has worked to India's advantage, Dharmasena the first umpire to crumble under pressure.

Philip Hughes fails to open his account, caught by Sehwag off Jadeja.

Australia 65 for three after 30 overs.

The Indian spinners keep appealing every ball. 

Ravindra Jadeja replaces Ashwin (9-1-16-1) in the attack in the 24th over. A couple off his fifth ball by Cowan helps the visitors reach the 50-run mark. 

Australia 54 for one after 25 overs. 

In the sixth over, Cowan sweeps Harbhajan to the fine leg for the first boundary of the Australian second innings.

Ashwin gives India a success before lunch having Watson  (17) caught by Sehwag.

Australia 34 for one at lunch (16 overs).

India epectedly starts the second innings with a twin spin attack, R Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh operating from the two ends. 

Cowan has already survived two appeals early on in the Australian innings.

Peter Siddle ends Kumar's (38) resistance, having him caught by Clarke. 

India all out for 572, an overall lead of 192 in the first innings. 

It is now their match to lose.

James Pattinson finally ends the Australian agony, having Dhoni (224) caught behind in what in his third over of the day. 

Dhoni faced 265 balls and hits 24 boundaries and six sixes, besides adding a record 140 runs for the ninth wicket with Kumar. 

Dhoni's wicket helped Pattinson complete a well-deserved five-wicket haul.

India 546 for nine after 147 overs. 

Dhoni steps up the gear in Lyon's second over, hitting the first ball for a boundary and the fifth for a six over long-on.

The Indian captain also survived a leg before appeal in James Pattinson's first over.

India 537 for eight after 145 overs, a lead of 157 runs.

India will look to press home their advantage on Dday Four of the opening Test. 

Leading the way will be their captain, who is unbeaten on 206.
