20:04   1st ODI: Tredwell spins England to victory
- Scorecard

ENGLAND WIN BY NINE RUNS!!!!

India 316-9 (50 overs) vs England 325-4

Off-spinner James Tredwell played the most vital role for England with the ball, claiming four for 44 in 10 overs on a flat wicket. In contrast, India's premier spinner R Ashwin went for 61 runs in nine overs.

England smashed 64 runs in the last five overs which ultimately proved crucial in the final analysis as India were left with too much with the bat in the end.

And not to forget that this is England's second string bowling attack missing the likes of James Anderson and Graeme Swann among others.

India will need to try another spinner instead of Ashwin in the next match as he is not only struggling to keep the runs down but also failing to wickets.

The next match will be played in Kochi, on January 15.
