Bresnan has provided the first breakthrough for England with the wicket of Gambhir. The left-hander tried to play the cut but was beaten and was given out caught behind for 10. Gambhir was shocked to see umpire Steve Davies raise his finger as replays showed the ball might have missed the edge.

Virat Kohli is beaten off immediately as he Bresnan ges it to move away from the right-hander.

A wicket maiden for Bresnan as India are 20 for one in six overs.
