Raina was on 42 when he was caught at first slip but was given not out because Finn broke the stumps on his follow through. That proved to be a crucial moment in this encounter but India had it easy in the middle overs and the English bowlers rarely threatened.

This is Dhoni's 77th victory as captain in ODIs going past Sourav Ganguly and he is now second behind Mohammad Azharuddin, who has 90 wins.

"India have now beaten England in 19 out of last 22 ODIs at home, Eng won only 2, while one match ended in a tie (CWC2011)," says Rajneesh Gupta on Twitter.

England have returned empty-handed once again in ODIs in India. They have lost four back to back series in India starting from 2006 (5-1), 2008 (5-0), 2011 (5-0) and 2013 (3-1).

India win by five wickets and 15 balls to spare to clinch the five-match series 3-1 with one match still to go.

Raina saw India home with a quickfire knock of 89 from 79 balls, hitting nine fours and a six. Jadeja chipped in with 21 from 27 balls as the duo were involved in an unbroken stand of 45 runs from 8.2 overs to help India cruise to an easy victory.

Dernbach provides England with some hope as he gets the wicket of Dhoni, who hits a short wide ball straight to the fielder at point for 19.

New batsman Ravindra Jadeja flicks it through the leg side for two runs. He nearly edges the fifth ball as he tries to steer it to thirdman and misses despite having two slips in place.

Just two runs and a wicket in that over for Dernbach.

Raina is looking in a hurry as he tries to slog it on the leg side but can't time it properly and gets only two runs and picks another couple from the last ball.

Raina has now hit three half-centuries in a row, his fifth in 10 innings and fourth in last five innings against England.

14 runs from that over as India now need 62 runs from 13 overs for victory.

The Batting Powerplay comes into effect now but India will be looking to continue play in the normal fashion and not take undue risks.

Finn's bad habit of breaking down the stumps in his bowling follow through has cost England. Raina is caught at first slip but to England's horror it is ruled a dead ball as Finn's feet knocked off the stumps.

A big let off for India and Raina, who was batting on 41.

England captain Cook is unhappy with the ruling and has a long animated chat with umpire Davies but to no avail.

Just four singles from that over as India reach 182 for four in 36 overs.

And he delivers with the very first delivery of his new spell. Rohit looks to play across the line on the leg side but misses and is given leg before wicket.

Replays indicate that the ball would have gone down the leg side and hit him above the knee roll. Another bad decision by the umpires today and this time it was Steve Davies.

Sunil Gavaskar on commentary says "follow through! maybe it was the follow through that did him in."

Rohit walks back after a fine knock of 83 from 93 balls, having hit 11 fours and a six. He put on 68 runs from 8.3 overs for the fourth wicket with Raina to put India in control.

New batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni starts off in style as he flicks the first ball fine on the leg side for a boundary.

Finn then has another shout for LBW against Dhoni but this time the appeal is turned down. That was a close shout!

India still in control with 93 needed from 18 overs and six wickets in hand.

Rohit has been able to get the measure of Tredwell, who has troubled every other Indian batsmen right through the series. He makes room and steers the third ball past the point fielder for a boundary and two balls later punches it to sweeper cover for one to bring up the 50-run partnership from just 37 balls.

Dernbach's poor first spell helped India break free after a slow start and now again he is helping their cause courtesy of his wayward bowling.

Virat Kohli is beaten off immediately as he Bresnan ges it to move away from the right-hander.

A wicket maiden for Bresnan as India are 20 for one in six overs.

The first ball moves away from Gambhir a great deal and is rightly called a wide. The second ball is closer to the batsman but again bounce and moves away as keeper Buttler collects it in front of first slip.

The third ball is short and wide as Gautam looks to cut it over point but misses and defends the next ball.

The fifth ball is full and right in the slot which Gambhir eases through the covers for a delightful boundary.

England managed to turnaround things in the last few overs as they hammered 101 runs in the last 10 overs. Their batsmen played as many as six maiden overs in the entire innings as they struggled at the start and in the middle overs before the late resurgence.

Jadeja was once again the star for India with the ball as he claimed three for 39 in 10 overs, while Ishant impressed with two for 47 in 10 overs.

Ashwin disappointed as he was hit for 63 runs in 10 overs while picking up two wickets, out of which he was lucky to get Cook's wicket.

Ahmed to bowl the final over of the innings. Tredwell throws his bat at the first delivery and it is fielded by sweeper cover for one.

Root gives Ahmed the charge who drops it short but the youngster still manages to pull it over square leg for a boundary to bring up his maiden ODI half-century in style from 43 balls.

Root then thumps the next ball back past the bowler for another boundary.

Left-hander Tredwell then cracks it past point for the third boundary of the over.

Tredwell misses the last ball, which is a good yorker, but the batsmen still steal a quick bye.

England finish on a healthy 257 for seven in their 50 overs.

Root was responsible for helping England cross the 250-run mark with his blazing innings of 57 from 45 balls, having hit eight fours and a six. And to think that Morgan and Patel were sent ahead of him to score quick runs but the youngster rose to the occasion in fine style.

Buttler chips down the track to Jadeja and lofts him down the ground for a huge six. He gives Jadeja the charge again off the next delivery but this time gets it through midwicket for a four.

Two balls later, Tim Bresnan looks to cut Jadeja but once again chips it straight to Yuvraj to be dismissed for a duck.

James Tredwell plays the last ball on the leg side for a single as Root is denied the strike yet again.

But Ishant gets his revenge as he bowls Pietersen with a quick yorker, who walks back after a superb innings of 76 from 93 balls.

Pietersen and Root provided England with the much-needed boost as they put on 78 runs in 56 balls for the fifth wicket.

Jos Buttler is the new batsman for England and he has the reputation of being a hard hitting batsman.

That was an absolute shocker from umpire Sudhir Asnani. Replays confirm the ball was pitched way outside the leg stump and struck him in front of the leg stump.

You need DRS to eliminate such howlers. DRS or not, you cannot have such umpires.

A lucky breakthrough for Ashwin and India as England lose their second wicket after Cook and KP had put on 95 runs in 22.1 overs for the second wicket.

A careless shot from Bell under the circumstances as England had weathered the early storm and were looking good to making the most of it in the next few overs.

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has won the toss and elected to bowl against England in the fourth One-Day International in Mohali, on Wednesday.

India, who lead the five-match series 2-1, made one change to their team bringing in Rohit Sharma in place of the struggling Ajinkya Rahane.

England also made a change to their team, replacing wicketkeeper Craig Kieswetter with Jos Buttler.

The Punjab Cricket Association stadium was covered by thick fog in the morning before the sun started to break through. The maximum temperature is hovering around 12-13 degrees Celsius and the fast bowlers will enjoy the conditions especially in the first half of the match.
