Live Cricket! Rain halts India-SL tri-series match in Trinidad

Timeline  Refresh

23:50
We have an update from BCCI's official account on Twitter.

"Things are looking better in Trinidad and the cleanup operation is well underway. There will be a pitch inspection at 00:30 IST."

"The groundsmen are beginning to move the covers off the pitch. It's only on the outfield though. A lot water on there," writes WindiesIntl on Twitter.
23:25
Hold on guys...the rain is back at Port of Spain! So the inspection might be put off as the covers are being brought back.

"Mission Aborted... for now.  The groundsmen are going off the field. A little bit of rain is coming back... Make that a lot of rain," write WindiesIntl on Twitter.
22:32
The latest from Port of Spain is that the rain has stopped and the groundstaff have started their work to get the ground ready as soon as possible. The umpires will conduct an inspection at 1400 hours local time which is around an hour from now to decide on when play will resume.
21:54
We seem set for a long rain delay in Port of Spain with heavy rain lashing the Queens Park Oval stadium.

"And now there's thunder. Boy, things are really looking up here. Get comfortable, we're gonna be off for a long time," WindiesIntl write on Twitter.

And their next update a few minutes later is not encouraging either. "It's cleared up a lot at the Oval but still a light drizzle persists. As you would imagine, the covers and outfield is soaking."
