Rangana Herath makes a double breakthrough in his final over, having Jadeja (5) and Ashwin (0) out leg before.

He ends with impressive figures (10-2-20-4).

Dhoni eases the pressure with a boundary off Lakmal (10-0-33-1), and two off Malinga. But India manage just 19 runs off the batting powerplay, losing two wickets in the process.

Rohit again gives away his wicket after a good start, as Herath gets through his defence. Rohit's 89-ball 58 was inclusive of five boundaries and a six.

Two boundaries in Malinga's sixth over helps Rohit reach 49. He duly takes a single in Herath's next over to complete his 17th ODI fifty.

A single by Rohit off Herath helps raise the 50-run partnership for the third wicket, that came off 73 balls. However, in the very next ball, a spectacular reflex catch at slip ends the stay of Karthik (23), Herath picking up his first wicket.

Karthik's 37-ball innings was inclusive of three boundaries and he helped Rohit add 50 runs.

Suresh Raina comes out to join Rohit at the crease.

Rangana Herath into the attack in the 19th over, replacing Lakmal (4-0-7-0). Five runs come off his first over, with Rohit hitting the last ball past point for his first boundary.

Karthik hits successive boundaries off Malinga to ease the pressure. The partnership, though slow, is still doing a good job. But Malinga has been largely off colour thus far.
